SCOTTISH JUDGE LEEDS 17

This was Frank Kane's entry but after judging the first class he became unwell and I was asked to stand in, I am pleased to say he made a speedy recovery. I was sorry to see so many of the exhibits being stacked (several facing downhill!) the dogs look so much better freestanding and showing with some animation. Coats were mixed, some in correct double coat, others that were bereft of any undercoat (read the standard). I noted several large round eyes, not a good look as it completely spoils the desired keen intelligent expression. I was very pleased with the main winners, all very good examples of the breed.

PD (4, 1)

1 Boyce's nTrakside Royal Indian. Extrovert youngster showing promise, pleasing head, strong foreface good eye and expression, neat ears, deep compact body, level topline, in good coat and condition, when he settles should have a bright future, I will follow his progress with interest. Best Puppy.

LD (2, 1)

1 Patchett's From Dash Mountain Farm's Mr Ashgate At Skircoat. Good size black, very good bone and substance good length head, coat passed I'ts best, movement difficult to assess as is quite strong willed and would benefit from firmer handling.

Quality black in excellent coat and condition, scores in head, which is clean and balanced, correct eye and expression, neat well placed ears, muscular neck, very good bone and substance correct front, deep well ribbed body, moved and showed steadily. I was pleased to see him freestanding in the challenge showing just the right amount of terrier spirit. CC and BOB.
