SCOTTISH JUDGE LEEDS 16

Scottish Terrier

Having judged this breed 3 times at CC level, I have made a few observations in our breed. Foreface in some cases are getting to long for the head, with necks becoming too long and backs too short. Some scotties seem to be very small and light weight, meaning not the quality of bone they should have.

Puppy Dog 1

1st Coley Mrs J. Kingsview Just Samuel B.P. Stood alone, but nice puppy with correct head and foreface, correct bite, good front with correct shoulders and deep brisket short coupled with nice angulation on back legs, moved well going away and coming back.

P.Grad Dog 3 (1)a

1st Beckton Mrs A. M. Glengracie Galileo 2 year old dog that says I am quality, good head, sound bite, well placed shoulder with sound front and deep brisket, low to ground, well coupled, movement was very sound with a good hard coat

2nd Pagram Mrs P. Torcraig Golden Chance. A good wheaten, with pleasing head, correct bite and foreface, good eye colour and shape, sound front with very good bone, nice spring of rib well-muscled which allowed him move well.

Limit Dog 2

1st Pagram Mrs P. Torcraig Sydnificant CC & BOB. This I think is really one to watch. Correct mouth and foreface, good eye shape and colour, ears on top, neck running into correct shoulders, well ribbed, low to ground, super coupled, well-muscled rear with good angulation and tail set, never putting a foot wrong on the move, coat double and harsh, groomed to perfection

2nd Meek Mr & Mrs E.M. & C.G. Benartybrae Macarena at Benbethham. Mouth ok, head of good quality, shoulders and front ok, low to ground with good muscle on rear end, moved well away and back, coat double and correct.

Open Dog 3

1st Dixon Mrs G. Millingford Royal Eclipse at Chatterdale RCC. Very nice dog of a smaller type than C.C. winner, correct mouth, eye shape colour correct with good shoulder placement, well tucked in at elbow, straight front with well-rounded brisket and low to ground, well-muscled with tail on top, move very well going away and coming back, coat very good double and well textured

2nd Crawshaw Dr S.M. Trakside Wellington at Levenkirk. Another nice boy, bigger type than the first, head and mouth correct, good eye colour, straight front with good well rounded brisket, well coupled and well-muscled rear, with a good quality brindle coat, moved out well.

Puppy Bitch 3 (1)a

1st Tyzack Mrs M. Gaterin Another Chance. A very nice young puppy only 7 months old, correct head and mouth, good eye shape and colour, ears nice shape and on top, neck a little long but has nice shoulder placement with good straight front, brisket is about right for her age, low to ground, back legs well angulated, moved very well when settled, lost out for Best Puppy on age only.

2nd Orr Ms M. Orrscot Aine A nice puppy with the Scottie attribute, when they do not want to move, they put the brakes on. I am sure with more ringcraft and encouragement the owner will succeed, plus more concentration to be made with the grooming too.

Junior Bitch 2

1st Emmins Mrs M. Trakside Fable at Westscots. Pleasing young lady to go over with good head, mouth and eyes, ears on top, nice neck running into correct shoulder, well tucked in on elbow, straight front with well slung body, well rounded ribs with short coupling, well-muscled rear, moved with drive, good double coat.

P.Grad Bitch 3

1st Dixon Mrs G. Sweetgarret Star Over Chatterdale. Very well put together young lady, correct head and mouth, good eye shape and colour, neck of moderate length with correct front and well tucked in at elbows, well rounded brisket, low to ground, back moderate in length with a good tail set, well-muscled back end, moved with drive around the ring, has nice double coat.

2nd Corney Mr & Mrs R Rilynson Aruba Arehucas. Hard to pick between these two, both I think will change places in the future, correct mouth, head and foreface, correct ears well on top with good shape, straight front slung between good chest, low to ground and short coupled, correct tail set, well-muscled back end which allowed her to move well and with drive, good double brindle coat.

3rd Orr Ms M. Orrscot Devorguilla

Limit Bitch 1

1st Pagram Mrs P. Torcraig Sea Pearl CC. Another stunner, like her brother, head of quality, correct teeth, eye and colour, moderate neck runs well into good shoulders, well tucked in at elbow, straight legs with a correct body slung between them, well rounded brisket and low to ground, short coupled with well-muscled rear, moved around the ring perfectly, coat double and harsh, groomed to perfection

Open Bitch 3

1st Coley Mrs J. Kingsview Just Freya RCC. A very strong contender, head of quality with nice dentition, good foreface, moderate neck and back, good shoulder placement with straight front, good front assembly, low to ground, well muscled rear, good tail set, not quite as good on the move away as CC winner.

2nd Kelly Mr & Mrs W.C. & M.H. Carsview Hurricane Hannah. Pushed hard for the RCC, correct mouth and foreface, head looked well suited with body, neck moderate, correct at elbow, well slung body between legs, low to ground, back a little longer than first, well angulated back end, moved ok, a good double coat.

3rd Herd Mr & Mrs J. & A Tatler Tweedbank at Feregait (Imp Nor)
