SCOTTISH JUDGE DRIFFIELD 17
I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for the invitation to judge Scottish Terriers and for their warm hospitality; it was a pleasure to judge the breed again. Praise and thanks must be given to the unwavering exhibitors who came and retained good humour and presented their dogs in such a clean condition in spite of the inclement ground conditions.

LD(4). the first two gave me somewhat of a dilemma,
1st Farrand`s Ceilidh Quantum Maxxum at Amberyl, black dog who wants to be noticed, super balanced head with the neatest of well placed ears, keen expression, good run in to well placed shoulders and level topline, tail on top, enough depth and length of rib, short coupled, good rear angulation, moved and showed to advantage but needs much better overall condition. Has plenty of time to mature.
2nd Beckton`s Glengracie Galileo, up to size brindle dog of correct type but preferred the head of 1, good run in to ok front , plenty of rib, level topline, super strong deep muscular coupling and powerful hind quarters, tail on top. Carrying too much weight across his shoulders which affected his movement - lacking the drive of 1.
3rd Meeks`s Benartybrae Macrena at Benbetham
OD(3,1).
1st Plane`s Stuane Cloak and Dagger, handsome showy black dog presented in the best of condition, Balanced head , neat ears, wonderful expression, correct bite, super run in to level topline, tail well set, correct angulation fore and aft, good depth of rib being carried back enough, muscular coupling, strong hindquarters. Correct coat texture. Moved with purpose and drive, pleased to award him the CC.
2nd Earl`s Rolanka Bucks Fizz, up to size mature wheaten of correct type, lovely clean head, keen eye, neat ears, good bite, good front, short back, big ribs, deep body, very good tail-set, excellent quarters, moved true , coat of good texture but would prefer less furnishings which he doesn`t need as they distract from his outline while moving, very pleased to award him RCC.
MPB(1).

1st Meek`s Lomondview Amber Solitaire at Benbetham, 11 month wheaten, lovely expression, balanced head, neat ears, good bite, nice run in to ok front , level topline, tail well set, would prefer more overall bone and substance. Showed really well not minding the wet conditions at all.

Clean balanced head, super expression, neat ears, good pigment, quality run in to well placed shoulders, level topline, well set tail, super body properties, ribs deep carried well back, strong short back, powerful well angled hind quarters. Correct coat texture. Moved sound fore and aft. Delighted to give her the RCC - she should have an exciting future.

2nd Lawrence`s Sweetgarret Highland Lass, this black bitch was a bit frustrating as she did not do herself justice on the move- not liking the muddy wet grass, She is a super example of breed type, feminine yet remaining powerful, clean balanced head with good eye, neat ears, excellent bone, short deep body, excellent quarters, correct coat presented to perfection,
3rd Patchett`s Skircoat Sonata
LB(1).
1st Hill`s Skircoat Sicilienne of Tahgmor, sizeable black of nice type, very good body properties, good front, tail bang on top, moved out well, coat of correct texture.
OB(6,2).
Super class of 4 lovely bitches,
1st Chapman, Bradley and Herd`s Ch Brueik Tickled Pink by Berrybreeze, for me she is right on the edge of that fine balance:- so feminine and very beautiful - yet retaining her breed type, she has a long clean quality head with a super expression, good bite, not the neatest of ears but they are set well and she uses them well, super run in showing her quality to a perfect straight front, well placed shoulders, good spring of ribs, coupled strongly to first-rate muscled quarters and perfect set-on of tail which she holds proudly, presented in remarkable pristine condition, A truly beautiful bitch who moved with such easy reach and drive and held the most level of toplines, delighted to award her the CC & BOB - a real pleasure to watch her moving in a very strong terrier group to claim the Group 3 spot,
2nd Kenny-Marriott, Marriott, Kirk-Gellatly`s Millingford Fire Queen, up to size black of excellent breed type, good head and bite, keen eye, quality neck and shoulders, deep and low, strongly coupled, good muscular quarters, super tail set. Moved true out and back, but just not enjoying herself today.
