SCOTTISH JUDGE DRIFFIELD 10

Scottish Terriers

MPD (1)

1 Hardy’s Magandthan Black Heather, sturdy 7 month black of good type, pleasing neck & shoulders, well ribbed with good bone, short coupled, showed well. Needs to settle on the move.

PD (1)

1 Rutherford’s Carisco My Leading Man, well balanced 9 month b/br, clean masculine head with keen expression, nicely placed ears, good bone, deep body, level topline, showed well. Little slack in rear movement. BPD.

JD (2,1a)

1 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Dizzee Rascle, quality black, full of confidence, clean head, excels in neck & shoulders, well balanced, short deep body, good tailset, moved with good reach & drive, lovely coat & condition. Still needs little more maturity but should have promising future, showmanship won him RCC.

YD (0).

PGD (3,2)

1 Eteo’s Glemiar Whisky Mac at Jancliff, strongly made black of pleasing type with good bone & substance. Would prefer cleaner skull. Well ribbed firm body, super coat texture, strong quarters, moved OK.

LD (4,1)

1 Rutherford’s Carisco I’m Your Man, handsome black with pleasing outline, masculine well balanced head with correct expression & neat ears, good front, firm deep well ribbed body, tail on top, moved with drive. In challenge lacked usual enthusiasm;

2 Lawrence’s Sweetgarrett My Wee Geordie, brindle of good type, shown in hard condition, level topline with good depth & ribs, powerfully made quarters. Not ease of 1 on the move & did not match shoulder placement. Well handled;

3 Smith’s Killisport McNaught at Soarvale.

OD (3,1)

1 Gaskell’s Mayson Locksmith, quality masculine brindle, liked colour, lovely head & expression with pleasing dark eye, neat ears, good front, neck & shoulders, deep & low, tail on top, moved with drive, well presented & handled. Still needs little more maturity. CC;

2 Goddard’s Emandem Black Pudding, mature & of pleasing type, good for size, balanced head with strong foreface, neat ears, well developed body, short & deep, super bone, well presented & handled, moved with purpose. Just preferred head of 1.

GCD G Whisky Mac at J.

MPB (4)

Class of very lively puppies!

1 Plane’s Stuane Carnival Queen, promising 6 month black, clean feminine head, dark eye, neat ears, short coupled, well ribbed & low to ground, good quarters, showed & moved well. Needs to settle;

2 Baker & Hopcutt’s Glenheath Country Life, confident 7 month b/br, pleasing head, good bone & substance, strong quarters, good coat for age. Again needs to settle on move as difficult to assess. Not quite as short coupled as 1. Has promise;

3 Boyce’s Trakside Love Charm.

PB (3,1)

1 Kelly’s Glenboig Lady Gaga at Carseview, well presented 9 month black, nicely balanced, feminine head & good mouth, neat ears, pleasing neck & shoulders, short coupled, level topline, moved & showed quite well. BP;

2 Cole’s Rabbonai Naughty But Nice, good coated 10 month black, long clean feminine head, keen expression, well boned, level topline, tail on top, showed quite well. Not as short coupled as 1.

JB (4)

1 Hardy’s Trakside Springtime of Maganthan, feminine brindle, attractive well balanced head & neat ears, super front, good ribs, depth & substance, short coupled with good angulation, tail on top, moved with drive. Showed well but little distracted in challenge;

2 Maidment’s Berrybreeze Explorer, another pleasing junior, good attitude, balanced feminine head, dark almond eye, well placed shoulders, level topline & tail on top, good coat & condition, moved well. Thought 1 had little more maturity;

3 Young’s Forestree Apple Charlotte.

YB (2)

1 Milburn-Gates’ Liroda Skye Dancer, brindle of good type, pleasing harsh coat, feminine head, good front & bone, level topline & tail on top. Would just prefer little more depth of body. Moved well;

2 F Apple Charlotte, attractive black, 3 in JB but by no means disgraced, pleasing front, level topline, well placed tail, good coat & condition. Needs time to mature. Showed well.

PGB (5,2)

1 Baker’s Glenheath Grazia, outgoing black, balanced head with good mouth, correct front & well developed low slung body, good brisket, short coupled & low to ground, lovely coat & condition, strong quarters, moved confidently with good reach in front. In challenge just thought needed little more finish but will come in time;

2 L Skye Dancer;

3 Cunningham’s Gothtayle Macy Sky’s Girl.

LB (1)

1 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Supertramp, judged as puppy & pleased to see has fulfilled promise, quality black, nicely constructed, pleasing angulation, beautifully balanced, moved & showed very well with plenty of drive, lovely presentation as usual from this kennel. RCC.

OB (3)

1 Plane’s Ch Mayson Carnival at Stuane, have admired this brindle from ringside & did not disappoint, very feminine but still has bone & substance, quality head with lovely expression & neat ears, deep & low with powerful quarters, moved soundly with self assurance, just coming into prime. CC, BOB & G4;

2 Baker’s Glenheath Chit Chat, have judged before, very typy, lovely head & expression, pleasing outline, level topline, tremendous bone & substance, low to ground, moved with purpose, well presented & handled. Just preferred size of 1;

3 Boyce’s Trakside Fairy Story. GCB (0).
