CAIRN JUDGE DARLINGTON 17

Not a big entry, with 28 dogs minus absentees. I would have liked a few more, but I was happy with my main winners. We had a big ring but there was a lot of swearing and quarrelling going on. Some were reluctant to get moving on the damp grass, some were overweight, a few well up to size and presentation could have been better here and there.

VB (2)

1 & BV, Pollock's Millingford Winter Lion ShCM. Eight and a half yrs, very nice 'senior citizen' in good coat, good head, keen expression, a will of his own and did things his way at his speed! Strong body, good bone, well presented.

MPD (1)

1 & Best PD, Cockayne's Saredon Boom Time TAF. Nearly 9 mths, confident black, in good form, excellent coat and body, attractive head, dark eyes, keen and full of himself, energetic, active puppy, moved and showed well.

PD (1)

1 Boyce's Trakside Royal Indian. 11 mths black, sturdy lad with good bone and substance, good length of head, dark eyes, well carried ears, big body and rib, high spirited showman, moved ok, when competing for BPD, was not as settled in topline or movement as the minor puppy.

JD (3)

1 & RCC, Boyce's Trakside Mr Goodbar. 15 mths brindle, good shape and proportions, muscular neck, short back, ribs carried well back, pleasing head, full of mischief and expression, great character, moved and showed very well, should have a great future. I really liked him.

2 Rutherford's Carisco Follow Your Dreams. 14 mths black, another good contender, keen expression, good topline and hindquarters, firm body, moved quite well but not the flow of first, showed well.

3 Mackay's Carisco Don't Stop Believing.

LD (3)

1 Farrand's Ceilidh Quantum Maxxum At Amberyl. 16 mths, comfortable winner here, quality head of good length, well balanced, muscular neck, deep chest, harsh jacket, well handled to always look his best, moved and showed steadily.

2 Todd's Eskwyre Waterloo Sunset. 4 yrs, masculine dog, a bit slack in topline standing, calm, steady performer, strong body, well fitting coat, preferred ear carriage and expression of first.

3 Patchett's From Dash Mountain Farm's Mr Ashgate At Skircoat.

OD (2)

1, CC & BOB, Kenny-Mariott & Marriott's Ch & Rus Millingford Kings Choice. Two and a half yr old black, good looking male, typical head, strong underjaw, dark almond shaped eyes, made the most of himself standing and moving, used his neck to advantage, fit body, well muscled, good coat texture, very well presented and handled.

2 Crawshaw's Ch Trakside Wellington At Levenkirk. 6 yr old black, worthy champion, splendid coat and body, attractive head, keen, intelligent expression, neat small ears, good tailset, steady showman, moved well.

MPB (2)

1 Kenny-Marriott's Millingford Idealist. Just 6 mths, this energetic black, once she got into orbit, she went well, feminine head, full of character and obviously enjoying herself. Needs more body.

2 Orr's Orrscot Eilionnoir De Baliol. 7 mths brindle, excellent coat coming through, a bit too much puppy fat presently, good head and expression, playing her handler up on the move, scratching, rolling on the grass, anything but moving in a straight line.

PB (2)

1 & BP, Lawrence's Sweetgarret Ocean Storm. 11 mths black, quality puppy with excellent coat texture and presentation, good head and eyes, had to be persuaded to use her ears, strong body, good bone, moved and showed better when she had some company in the challenge.

JB (2)

1 Rutherford's Carisco Cendal Creme. 14 mths wheaten, litter mate to second in JD, lovely body, harsh jacket, pleasing head, dark knowing eyes, well proportioned, moved well behind, well muscled hindquarters, happy showgirl.

2 Hill's Skircoat Semibreve At Tahgmor. 17 mths, up to size, would prefer a little more feminine all round, dark eyes, good bone and body, moved ok, coat presentation could be better.

PGB (5)

Difficult class, as sparks were flying, unsettling movement.

1 Lawrence's Sweetgarret Highland Lass. 3 yr old black, solid body, excellent coat, outline and overall proportions, good ribcage, attractive head of good length, excellent type, moved and showed adequately here but then perked up with the challenge so deserved the RCC.

2 Orr's Orrscot Aine. 2 yr old brindle, short back, very good coat texture, deep chest, typical head, expressive dark eyes, moved and showed standing, dips a bit in topline.

3 Dauncey's Glenmiar Maid To Measure. 2 yrs, good sort but carrying too much weight and a bit too excited to move properly today, or would have gone higher.

LB (1)

1 Hill's Skircoat Sicilienne Of Tahgmor. Reserve in PGB. 3 yrs old black, would look a lot better with less coat and weight, quite well proportioned, good bone, muscular neck, moved ok.

OB (5, 3)

1 & CC, Kelly's Kelly's Carseview Hurricane Hannah. 4 yrs old black of good quality and type, most appealing head, keen expression, well proportioned, harsh jacket, very well presented and conditioned, sturdy body, super showgirl, at one with her handler on the move.

2 Rutherford's Carisco My Leading Lady. 3 yrs, good honest bitch with all the essentials but not the topline of winner, attractive head, strong body and quarters, moved well, handled to advantage, well coated.
