Scottish Terriers

I thoroughly enjoyed my first CC appointment in this lovely breed, in a perfect setting at this well run show. My thanks to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs.

. MPD (1)

1 Kenny Marriott & Marriott’s Millingford Kings Choice, just 6 months, this promising black puppy is typical in outlook, has good body properties for his age. Showing plenty of character & ring confidence. Balanced head, good mouth, good eyes & ears. Good bone & correct front, enough substance for age. In challenge for BP not quite the finish of the bitch today.

JD (2,1)

1 Patchett’s From Dash Mountain Farm’s Mr Ashgate at Skircoat, up to size black in good coat. Well angulated quarters which he used on the move, & moved out well enough when settled. Could have more layback, & lacking quality in head. Needs more depth of body, & would benefit from ring practice.

PGD (2)

1 Todd’s Eskwyre Waterloo Sunset, black well made dog of substance. Deep body. Good head & eye. Level topline, correct set-on. Could have better ears & a touch more angulation. Moved out well enough;

2 From Dash Mountain Farm’s Mr Ashgate at S.

LD (2,1)

1 Annan’s Lomondview Man-In-Black, pleasing youngster, typical clean strong head, good eye keen expression, good mouth & ears. Good bone, neck & shoulders & typical outline. Low to ground, short coupled. Needs more body to finish the picture. In good coat & order. Full of character & moved soundly. Well handled.

OD (3)

Strong class down the line.

1 Miller’s Ch Brio Oliver Twist, all quality male of substance, who is typical in outlook, & shown in good trim with quality texture coat. Pleasing clean strong head, good eye & expression. Clean neck & shoulder, low slung deep body & ribbing, good bone & feet. Level topline, good set-on. Presented a balanced, finished picture. Full of character & presence. Moved out well with drive. CC;

2 Rutherford’s Ch Carisco Midas Touch, wheaten with a clean head, good eye & neat ears. Clean neck, good front, well off for bone, deep body, ribbed up, short back & loin. Tail on top. Presents a typical outline. Preferred the strength & balance of head, & finish in coat of 1. Moved out well with drive. RCC;

3 Crawshaw’s Trakside Wellington at Levenkirk.

VB (1)

1 Mahoudi’s Ch/Swed Ch Brio Inquizitive, lovely quality typical bitch of excellent breed type. Well off for bone & substance, deep body, good ribbing, short back, level topline. Pleasing head & eye. Shown in good coat & order & presented a typical outline. Moved & showed well. Close up in the challenge. BV.

OB (3)

A good class down the line.

1 Rowland & Rees’ Dottys Little Girl at Rabbonai, combines substance & quality, & correct breed type. Well balanced clean head, strong muzzle & dark expressive eyes. Clean neck, good layback, correct front, compact deep body with good ribbing. Short back, level topline, correct set-on, good quarters. Showed nonstop & well presented in quality jacket. Of good size & presented a balanced quality picture. CC, BOB;

2 Annan’s Lomondview Signature, close up, this brindle bitch also displays quality & type, with excellent angulation fore & aft. Impressive standing & moving. Well balanced feminine head with excellent expression. Clean neck & shoulders, short back, firm loin, low slung cobby body. Tail on top & shown in good coat & order. In the challenge I preferred her rear angulation, however, 1 had more substance today & had the edge here. Loved her type. RCC.
