SCOTTISH JUDGE DARLINGTON 10

Scottish Terriers

Loved being back with my favourite breed. Fronts much improved from last time I judged & generally a quality entry.

Two points to remember: Heads, don’t forget required stop or it spoils desired balance & expression, and on a couple of exhibits lack of bend of stifle.

1 Hardy & Hardy’s Magandthan Black Heather, promising baby, correct front neck & shoulder, good rib & coupling, sound quarters, enjoyed his day out.

PD (1) 1 Rutherford’s Carisco My Leading Man, very promising, loved his head, neck & front assembly, looking at my catalogue I see he is by the DCC & it shows. Well ribbed, level topline & tailset, well presented.

PGD (4,1a)

1 Pollock’s Millingford Winter Lion, smart black of good construction, good bone & depth, correct brisket, excels in rib & quarters, went well;

2 Eteo’s Glenmiar Whisky Mac at Jancliff, sound construction, good topline & loin, correct tailset, went well;

3 Horton’s Penjetta Post-modern.

LD (5,2)

1 Gaskell’s Mayson Locksmith, like to see this dog in 6 months time, so much to offer. Excels in front, brisket & depth of rib, topped by a super backend, so well handled to bring out his best. RCC;

2 Bradley & Herds’ Brueik Magnum Opus, looks the part, super head & eye, correct neck & shoulder, good topline & tailset. Just needs to fill out & mature;

3 Rutherford’s Carisco I’m Your Man.

OD (4,3)

1 Earl’s Turnaware Buccaneer, walked into the ring as though he owned it. On his toes all the time, loved his head, neck & shoulder, excellent front & brisket, super rib & tailset, went round the ring as if to say I’m here. CC.

MPB (4,1)

1 Kelly’s Glenboig Lady Gaga at Carseview, well well well, star of the future if I am not mistaken. Well balanced head, correct in neck, shoulder & front, lovely depth of rib & chest, level topline, correct tailset, good quarters, went well. BP;

2 Mills’ Blackthorpe Bianca, promising baby, not as mature as 1. Good head & expression, good width of chest & front, well ribbed, correct tailset;

3 Watson’s Suenala Charissa.

PB (2,1)

1 Coley’s Kingsview Just the One, alone but wouldn’t disgrace in any company. Good head & eye, liked her neck & shoulder, good rib & depth, well presented & handled, went well, a lot to like.

JB (6,1)

These first two will change places many times.

1 Maidment’s Berrybreeze Explorer, live wire! Very mature in body, good width of front, liked her neck & shoulder, super body & quarters, very well presented;

2 Young’s Forestree Apple Charlotte, little separated her from 1. Loved her general outline & stance, good head & eye, depth of chest & rib, good quarters. Needs to settle;

3 Baker’s Glenheath Grazia.

PGB (3,1)

1 Stainsby’s Thamesview Alexis, very well handled & presented, stood foursquare, good front & depth, well ribbed, level topline, sound quarters, moved well;

2 F Apple Charlotte, in this class just needed more maturity in body & mind. Very playful.

LB (3)

Three quality bitches.

1 Pagram’s Torcraig Black Pearl, looked the part, lovely head balance & ear size & placement, correct front, excels in rib & depth, short coupled, lovely quarters & movement, topped by excellent presentation. CC & BOB;

2 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Supertramp, worked hard for her RCC, up against the two sisters. On her toes all the time, excels in neck & shoulder, good quarters, presentation first class, looked well up against 1;

3 Dixon’s Barnwin Morning Bliss at Chatterdale.

OB (3,2)

1 Pagram’s Torcraig Fair Enough, gave me a real headache. Loved everything about her from her correct head, front & shoulder, super rib & depth, lovely topline & tailset, excellent turn of stifle & quarters, well presented. Just lacked a bit of enthusiasm;

2 Baker’s Glenheath Chit Chat, excels in front & rib, good body, went well;

3 Tyzack’s Int/Ch/Bel Scotline Ginger Snap for Gaterin.
