SCOTTISH CRUFTS 14 Scottish Terrier Judge(s): MRS P R PAGRAM
SCOTTISH JUDGE CRUFTS 14 Scottish Terriers My grateful thanks to my two wonderful ring stewards who kept things running smoothly. No exhibitor needs to feel disappointed in their placing or lack of one as the quality was very high & some decisions were close. Thank you all for such a wonderful entry. VD (2) 1 Cardy’s Blackthorpe Jet Ranger of Brettvale, very smart, short back, classic head in excellent coat & condition. 10 years & looking good; 2 Hill’s Polwicks Black Tourmaline of Tahgmor, much larger 8 years old, well set tail. Could be wider in front, coat needs attention & rather reluctant on the move. PD (3) 1 Walker’s Beaureveur Perseus, lovely wheaten of correct size, make & shape. Better presentation would greatly improve this young dog’s chances, full of confidence & moved out well. BPD; 2 Earl’s Eskwyre Tom Follery at Rolanka, beautifully presented brindle, only 10 months but already well up to size. Needs to tighten in movement; 3 Tunstall’s Liroda Harris Tweed, very immature for age. Could be shorter in back & needs to gain confidence. JD (5) 1 Marcinekova’s Eshly Ir-It Scottish, easy winner here, wheaten with excellent expression, better head trimming would help, well made, moved with drive; 2 Todd’s Eskwyre Waterloo Sunset, good head. Could be shorter in back & needs to strengthen in hindquarters; 3 Hardy’s Magandthan Black Bronze, brindle in need of a new coat. Moved & showed well. PGD (9,1a) 1 Meek’s Benartybrae Macarena at Benbetham, wheaten of correct type & size, neat ears, dark almond eyes, excellent dentition, good pigment, firm level topline held on the move, excellent front, harsh textured coat including furnishings, very precise movement with real drive from behind, tail bang on top; 2 Beckton’s Glengracie Formula One, beautifully presented wheaten, a size larger than 1 & not the coat texture. Good spring of rib, lovely neck & shoulders. Just dipping behind the withers & not the drive on the move as 1; 3 Kovaleva’s Glenheath Transcript, brindle of good type, excellent dentition, well presented & handled. Just a little immature in this company. LD (9,2) 1 Bradley & Herd’s Brueik’s Bjorn, compact black of correct size. Well balanced head, good neck & shoulders, short back, level topline, tail well set, correct front, great spring of rib carried well back to short loin, strong quarters with correct angulation. Really powered round the ring. Wonderful showman. Well deserved CC; 2 Rutherford’s Carisco Midas Touch, wheaten, a size larger. Well presented with a good harsh jacket, correct front, moved out well; 3 Bichel-Schnock’s Sir Darnley’s Windsor Wizard, up to size but very well constructed, moved & showed well. OD (18,1) 1 Tovey’s Ch Trakside Flyingscotsman at Charmic, very stylish black. Correct type & size. Well balanced head, ears well used, lovely neck & shoulders, true front, short back, big ribs, tail on top, beautifully presented & moved with purpose but not quite the animation of CC winner. RCC; 2 Bogdan’s Int/VDH Ch Another Story of Makintosh Vom Rahmbruch, wheaten with a lot to like, good harsh jacket, presentation first class, deep chest, correct front, moved well from powerful quarters; 3 Frontera Bel’s Wor/Sp/Por/Gib Ch Roskots Vero Rococo, compact black with tremendous ribs. Would prefer a more refined head. Excellent mover. GCD (3) 1 Greenwood’s Petmon Light Of My Life, nice head but ears a little wide based. Good neck & shoulders, level topline, good tailset, trimmed a little too closely; 2 Eteo’s Glenmair Whisky Mac at Jancliff, good type, slightly heavy in head & not quite so short in back as 1. Moved out well; 3 Hill’s Bonnieanne Norman of Tahgmor, solidly built dog, reluctant to move. VB (3) All moving well, a lovely class of golden oldies. 1 Mahmoudi’s Ch/Sw Ch Brio Inquizitive, stunning bitch, very well made, in lovely trim & condition, moved with purpose & drive. Seriously considered for the RCC; 2 Hovagimyan’s Fr/Bel/Irl/Swiss/Ger/Int Ch Verascott Ask For The Moon, short backed, low to ground, tail on top, excellent presentation; 3 Maidment’s Berrybreeze Enlightning, oldest of the trio but still looking good. PB (8,1) Difficult class to judge due to the vast difference in age which means a lot to a puppy. 1 Kovaleva & Arzumanova’s Juscot Royal Tsarina, black, very compact, level topline, tailset just so, stands four square, 11 months & very confident, in good condition. BPB & BP; 2 Bradley & Herd’s Brueik Bright And Breezie, little between 1 & 2. Perhaps not quite as short as 1 but certainly a good prospect; 3 Kenny & Kirk’s Millingford Royal Ermine, smart black, good head, lovely harsh coat, well made, good mover with tail well used. JB (5) 1 Wojke’s Groovy Grace Of Wild Briar, attractive brindle, stands four square, tail on top, short back, correct earset, good expression, lovely neck & shoulders, excellent coat texture; 2 Boyce’s Trakside Scotsmans Girl, little between 1 & 2. Short coupled black, presented in excellent condition, lovely head & expression. Just lacked a little sparkle; 3 Grushevska’s Very Important Person Vladyka, very pretty black, good harsh coat, well constructed, tail well used, very positive on the move. PGB (18,2) 1 Kasinowski’s Happy End Du Moulin De Mac Gregor, the star of my day. Demanded attention, just could not stand wrong. Stunning wheaten, loved everything about her from her classic head so full of expression, lovely run in of neck into shoulders, short back, excellent front, deep well slung chest, tail well set & carried. Firm topline, harsh coat in wonderful trim, correct pigmentation, moved with such determination & drive from powerful quarters. Very well handled, never stopped showing. CC & BOB; 2 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Born To Boogie, black with pleasing head, good body. Could be shorter in back. Deep & well slung, excellent presentation; 3 Schwarz & Daly’s Tredaly Ask Alice, similar remarks apply. Better presentation would really help the overall picture. LB (10,1) 1 H End Du Moulin De Mac Gregor; 2 Osipova’s Moe Ocharovanie Hippi, smart brindle, liked this one a lot. Excellent presentation, very deep & low to ground, very precise movement. Presented a very good outline; 3 Hardy’s Trakside Springtime of Magandthan, slightly larger brindle with lots to like. Just a little outclassed in this hot competition. OB (14,3) 1 Bichel-Schnock’s Ger/L/Dutch Ch Sir Darnley’s Uncut Unity, classy black, every elegant, excellent head, lovely neck & shoulders, firm level topline, deep & well slung, short coupled, good tailset, wonderful presentation, great mover. RCC; 2 Le Pelletier’s Lux/Ger/Kft Ch Frou Della Roccacia Di Modigliana, really liked this one. Wheaten with excellent head, ultra short, good width in front, tail well set, powerful quarters. When moved at a more moderate pace was very true; 3 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Glad All Over, black in great condition. Could be shorter in back. Good topline held on the move. GCB (2) 1 Greenwood’s Petmon Miss Tiggywinkle, sweet bitch, really showing off here, lots to like, well made & in good trim. Positive on the move; 2 T Ask Alice. PAMELA R PAGRAM |
