SCOTTISH CRUFTS 13 Scottish Terrier Judge(s): MR D GUY Scottish Terriers I appreciated the good entry & was pleased to find some top quality Scottish Terriers. VD (3) 1 Smit-Kamerbeek’s Lucia’s Dream Scandalizer, this black boy carried himself well, if a touch on the tall side. Super topline & tailset, true front, good body & rib, in first class coat & condition. On the move he was positive both ways & retained his outline, he could be a touch lower to ground; 2 Cardy’s Blackthorpe Jet Ranger of Brettvale, black dog of good size & proportions, ran 1 close but I preferred the front of 1. Good coat that was well presented, topline & tailset OK, good rear movement; 3 Clements’ Tamzin Wilderman of Demontfort, black dog, thickset type but carried a touch too much weight. Balanced head but I would prefer it a touch cleaner all through. Ample neck, shoulders OK, good rib. Let himself down on the move as he was reluctant at times. PD (6) 1 Bradley & Herd’s Brueik’s Bjorn, black dog, not the biggest but super body & rib, good bone for size, quality head. Needs to improve in front, good coat that was well presented, good topline, moved well coming & going, gave a good picture in profile; 2 Beckton’s Glengracie Formula One, wheaten boy, a size larger than 1, a balanced head but a touch strong in skull, good neck & shoulder, true front, good body & rib, big hindquarters, moved well coming towards but was unsteady going away & this cost him first place, looked good in profile; 3 Meek’s Benartybrae Macarenac, wheaten dog of good proportions, head OK but a touch bold in eye which spoils his expression. Front OK, good body & rib, he really makes the most of himself & was true coming & going good in profile. JD (6) 1 Miller’s Brio Oliver Twist, quality brindle out of the top drawer, good masculine head, well placed ears, good over the neck & shoulder, true front, good bone without being overdone, good rib, enough body but needs to carry a touch more over the loin. Good quarters & tailset. He came into his own on the move, absolutely true coming & going, he displayed a good length of stride in profile & moved around the ring with purpose & style. Pleased to award him RCC; 2 B Macarena; 3 Dale’s Phoenix Du Moulin De McMonique at Lynnsto, black dog, not the head of the other two, adequate bone, good topline, OK in rib, enough rear angulation, move with a lengthy stride in profile. PGD (7) 1 Rutherford’s Carisco Midas Touch, wheaten dog of good type, good neck & shoulder, good front, balanced head, good bone, big rib & good body, well muscled hindquarters, good coat texture, gave a good account of himself on the move both coming & going overall a very nice dog; 2 Artemenko’s Moe Ocharovanie Cheroki Fenix, black dog who was well balanced, a touch heavier in head than 1, not as good in front. Adequate bone, good rib & body, strong hindquarters & tailset, good coat that was well prepared. Moved well; 3 Greenwood’s Petmon Light Of My Life, this black dog was in super coat & condition, head OK. Not the front of the other two. Good bone, rib & body. Good tailset, not as free on the move coming towards, OK going away, OK in profile. LD (3) 1 Rutherford’s Carisco My Leading Man, black dog, balanced head, strong neck, shoulders OK. Would prefer more width in front. Good bone & body, good topline & tailset, good coat texture. On the move he makes the very best of himself, very good in profile, good rear movement; 2 Arzumanova’s Juscot All Black Spirit, this black was an eyecatching dog, a touch exaggerated in neck for me, balanced head, needs to improve in front. Good bone for size, adequate body, good quarters & tailset, well prepared coat. Good rear movement but a touch close coming towards, displayed a good outline in profile; 3 Eteo’s Glenmiar Whisky Mac at Jancliff, this boy carried a super body, good bone & substance, in good coat, long head with well placed ears, a touch stronger in skull than I prefer, good topline & tailset. He was not as positive on the move in this class as I have seen him before. OD (14) Wonderful class with plenty to choose from. 1 Coley’s Kingsview Just Stewart, brindle dog of top quality & correct type, just my size as some are too big, he could definitely go to ground. He is not overdone in any department. Long balanced head with good eye placement that gives the correct expression. Well placed ears which he uses to advantage. Good front assembly, good bone, adequate rib for size, strong well muscled body not just fat. Good quarters & tailset. His brindle coat was of good texture & was well prepared. He was true coming & was one of the few to display good rear movement. In profile he covered the ground well & presented a super outline. I was very pleased to award him the CC in such good company, I believe this gives him his well deserved title; 2 Monreal’s Ayrzol Touareg, black dog who again was of good type, a very typical Scottie indeed, he ran the CC & RCC winners close. Lovely head & eye, good front a touch heavy over the shoulder, good bone. Correct rib & good body, level topline, good tailset & hindquarters. He moved with purpose & style & was true both coming & going, displaying a good outline in profile. Not the drive of 1 in profile; 3 Lawrence’s Turnaware Tarri of Sweetgarret, dark brindle who enjoyed her day, balanced head, good mouth, front OK, good rib, topline OK, on the move a touch close coming towards & could have had more drive from the rear. In good coat of the correct texture that was well prepared. She moved around the ring with style, pleased to award her BP; 2 Chapman’s Berrybreeze I Love To Boogie, quality black with a good head, not as mature as 1 but a quality girl, good rib & body, topline OK, coat coming along nicely, moved well coming towards a touch unsettled going away, good profile movement; 3 Rowland & Rees’ Dottys Little Girl at Rabbonai, this girl was not at all happy on the move, didn’t like the carpet! JB (2 1 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Born To Boogie, 8 months black girl with a super head & eye, strong neck, front OK, big rib & body, good bone, good topline & tailset, good coat. Coat of good texture that was well prepared. All in all a quality bitch who will improve with maturity, she pushed the CC & RCC winners hard; 2 Osipova’s Moe Ocharovanie Hippi, similar type to 1 but not as positive on the move. Good head & eye, well constructed front, good body & rib, good topline & tailset, moved well coming towards but not the drive in the rear as 1; 3 Kludass’ Guess Du Mat Des Oyats, quality bitch, balanced head, could be a touch better in front. All in all she gave a good account of herself. OB (10) Another very good class. 1 Khenkina’s Mcvan’s To Russia With Love, this black bitch was outstanding for type & balance, not the smallest but by no means tall or oversize. She shouted Scottie to me & took my eye as she entered the ring. Lovely strong punishing head, good eye, correct mouth, well placed & used ears. Good strong neck running into the best of shoulders, true strong well boned front, good bone, super rib & body, good coat that was in super condition. Good tailset, super strong, well muscled hindquarters that produced such drive on the move. Very sound coming & going, in profile she was excellent, displaying good reach & drive.
