Thank you to the committee inviting me to judge the Scottish Terrier classes at their new venue.
Also my thanks to my stewards and to all exhibitors for entering and let me judge their dogs. Most of you may not know me other then from the WHWT, but I started work for Diana Loten in 1979, Arasal kennels, where I got to grips with handling, breeding and grooming of Scottish Terriers.
There may not have been a large entry to go over, but the ones there were of a high standard, very impressed with the grooming too, it is not easy to get a Scottie in the ring and it takes hours of prep work.
Minor Puppy Dog (2/0)
1st - Ms G Dixon ; Chatterdale Star Eclipse, 8 months and he sure made me look twice when he entered the ring, at such a young age he already had a strong and confident ring presence as he went round. Nice clean head of correct proportions, big teeth and a correct bite, nice eye, slightly larger ears but he will grow ‘into’ them as he matures. Good front with enough width, straight front legs, deep chest for such a young age, well laid back shoulder and a strong back. Short in Loin, nice tail correctly set on, enough angulation in the rear that really showed when he powered through the ring. Moved well. Best Puppy, Best of Breed. Placed 3rd in the Terrier Puppy Group
2nd -Mr & Mrs Jenkins; Skircoat Scarpia, Another 8 month old, that clearly needs a little more time, Nice head and ears, good neck, would like to see slightly better placed shoulders, slightly longer then 1, good tailset, moved well.
