SCOTTISH BATH 17 Judge: Mr W R Irving BEST OF BREED : 1481 KENNY MARRIOTT, Mrs A & MARRIOTT Mr J Rus Millingford Kings Choice SCOTTISH JUDGE BATH 17 Scottish Terriers Though the entry was only 30 I was pleased with the overall quality of the top winners. It was not a good sign that the lower dog classes had no entries at all. Quite a few of the exhibits were a shade longer in back than preferred & this mostly being because of too much length of loin. Often this doesn’t help toplines. Most were very well presented but there were quite a few with top coats that could have been harsher. MPD, PD, JD & ND (0). PGD (4,1a) 1 Tyler’s Divadell Room At The Top, scored in coat over 2 & was rather more settled in the ring, OK in head & well shaped ribs, good depth of chest, enough neck & moved out pretty well & kept his topline rather better than 2 when moving around the ring; 2 Mahmoudi’s Glengracie Jetson, good head & skull, coat could be harsher & didn’t move quite as well in front as 1 but very pleasing in body & substance. Well muscled behind; 3 Harrison-Brown’s Trefaldwyn King David. LD (3) 1 Plane’s Stuane Cloak And Dagger, a very pleasing young dog, better & more typical in head than 2 & correct ears. Good back & loin & correct topline. Good coat & moved well in front & behind. Excellent tail. Went on to win RCC; 2 Farrand’s Ceilidh Quantum Maxxum at Amberyl, not quite the body shape or head properties of the winner & quite a character to handle. Head needs to finish but skull properties OK. Good rib. Good coat for texture but needs a bit more of it.. Needs to settle more in the ring & finish with just a bit more body substance; 3 Chick’s Brueik All The Aces. OD (2,1) 1 Kenny-Marriott & Marriott’s Rus Millingford Kings Choice, pleasing dog with an excellent head & the correct skull proportions. Good eye & correct strength of foreface. Well balanced neck & topline which he held together on the way around the ring. Good tailset. Moved will in front & behind. Coat could be harsher but he was very well presented & not overdone for body weight. Went on to win the CC & BOB. VD (2) 1 Greenwoods’ Petmon Light Of My Life, OK for head & good strong foreface. Stubborn when moving but when he got going he presented a good outline with correct tailset. Well muscled behind & had enough bone. Good in rib & OK in loin. Coat smart but could be harsher; 2 Hill’s Polwicks Black Tourmaline of Tahgmor, rather an older dog plenty of body. OK eye. Good tail & tail carriage but shown a shade overweight & could be tidier in coat. MPB (1) A. PB (2) 1 Norton’s Divadell Izzy Whizzy, the only puppy present. OK in head for age. Good neck & OK in coat for her age. Tail could be a shade shorter & needs to body up to make loin look a shade shorter. Good bone. Good feet & showed well & OK for depth of chest. BP. JB (4,1) 1 Weall’s Wringtonbell Ready To Rock, slightly more body & with more coat than 2, OK in skull, with plenty of strength of foreface, good strong bone & OK in topline. Stood better in outline than 2 at times. Moved well behind; 2 Emmins’ Catastrophe Du Moulin De Mac Greggor, needs time to mature & have a bit more coat which would make her look slightly better in head & ears. Need to body up a bit to complete the picture but very pleasing in neck, Good tailset & tail; 3 Hill’s Skircoat Semibreve at Tahgmor. NB (1) 1 S Semibreve at T, a pleasing bitch that could be a shade tidier in presentation & a shade shorter in back. She strides out extremely well behind. Good proportions skull to foreface. Plenty of bone. PGB (5,2) 1 Becquet & Darby’s Minorlines Princess Royal Becscott, very pleasing in neck & body shape. Better in back than 2 & moved better in front. OK in head & expression & shown in good coat. Could be smaller in ear bit good in front good bone & pleasing in tailset; 2 Norton’s Divadell Fly Me To The Moon, OK in head & skull. Not quite the backline of 1 but pleasing behind, good in rib & brisket good coat but did not use her tail well all of the time & that didn’t help her outline; 3 Hill’s Skircoat Sicilienne of Tahgmor. LB (2) 1 Chapman, Bradley & Herd’s Brueik Tickled Pink by Berrybreeze, a very eyecatching & pleasing young bitch. Excellent well balanced head & not overdone in skull & this gives her a good expression, good neck & correct topline held well on the move. Presented very well & though coat could be slightly harsher I forgave her that for her other qualities. Really excellent for type. She moved out well in front & behind & she has good typical brisket & depth. Really good tail & tailset. Went in to win the CC; 2 Hill’s Skircoat Sicilienne of Tahgmor, a pleasing bitch that doesn’t always carry her tail well. Needs a shade more refinement in head appearance. Good rib & body substance & carries enough bone. OB (5,1) 1 Kenny-Marriott, Marriott & Kirk-Gellatly’s Millingford Fire Queen, very good in head ears & eye. Moved well behind & reasonably in front. Has enough neck & is just a bit shorter in back than 2. Held her topline OK on the move in the class but not quite so well in the challenge. Well muscled behind & went on to win the RCC; 2 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Born To Boogie, another with a really well balanced & pleasing head. Not quite as good standing as the winner. Really good in neck & moved better behind than 3 & OK in front; 3 Kelly’s Carseview Hurricane Hannah. VB (1) 1 Greenwoods’ Petmon Miss Tiggywinkle, shown in gleaming coat & excellent condition. Very good head shape with correct skull to foreface proportions. Good eye, plenty of depth, good tailset. OK for length & moved up & down well. Went on to be BV. RONNIE IRVING
