SCOTTISH JUDGE BATH 14

Scottish Terriers

MPD (1)

1 Coley’s Kingsview Just Greggor, attractive, well proportioned 7 months, clean head with correct eye & mouth, nice size for age, short back with strong, compact body, tail on top, outgoing temperament & very lively, moved well when I could see it will settle later I am sure, schooling is not easy in a stubborn terrier breed, I know I come from one.

PD (1)

1 Hill’s Samstevever Gold Amulet, mature dog nearing a year old, nice head, correct for eye shape & colour, excellent mouth & hindquarters, good length of neck but tends to toe in at front when moving due to incorrect angles, excellent for bone & substance, ribs good for age & his wheaten coat is of good texture, preferred the size for age of the MPD winner.

JD (1)

1 Earl’s Eskwyre Tom Foolery at Rolanke, attractive, quality year old dog, typy outlook & very eyecatching brindle, correct for length of neck, short back, very solid & strong with excellent substance for size, well ribbed, topline could be firmer especially on the move, strong broad quarters, moved well both ways, nice size but will probably mature a tad more, in lovely coat.

PGD (4)

1 Meek’s Benartybrae Macarena at Benbetham, a good basic type wheaten Scottie, attractive head, structurally well made but lacks sufficient spring of rib for the breed at 2 years, has a short back, is balanced & moves well, coat certainly not at its best, showed with attitude;

2 Sandbourne’s Ready Freddie Go, nice head, & eye & mouth, liked his expression & attitude but longer than 1 & didn’t move as well, correct for ribs, in great coat & condition & showed well.

LD (2)

1 Bichel-Schnock‘s Sir Darnley’s Windsor Wizard, strong masculine dog very solid & well ribbed, firm short backline & has a lovely outline standing being correct for length of neck & tail on top, good head planes with strong foreface, crested neck & strong bone, excellent condition & correct brindle coat, moved & showed extremely well to secure CC;

2 Peace’s Berrybreeze Say Cheese, nice head & good general type, correct for mouth, dark eye of slightly round shape, short back & tail on top, not the neck or hind angulation of winner, black coat of excellent texture & good in condition, liked his size & attitude.

OD (5)

This was a good class but each one lacked a certain something on the day.

1 Bradley & Herd’s Brueik’s Bjorn, very attractive showy black, masculine head with typical expression, enough bone & substance but overall would like a shade bigger, made the very best of himself on the move, is so well balanced all through, has lovely outline with short back & correct length of neck, preferred the strength & size of CC winner. RCC;

2 Miller’s Ch Brio Oliver Twist, this was the dog I liked best when he walked in the ring & was disappointed when he just didn’t give a bold enough performance, clean head with correct length & strength of foreface, correct eye but just didn’t use his ears, strong short back well made body with good ribs & great quarters, he was balanced with lovely outline when he pulled himself together, moved well but just didn’t show to best advantage on the day.

MPB (1)

1 Becquet & Darby’s Kingsview Just One More Becscott, very pretty, attractive 7 months, feminine head & expression, well ribbed short back with high set tail, well muscled strong quarters, she used to advantage moving, not so good in front but showy active girl enjoying herself & making the most of her virtues.

PB (3,1a)

1 Boyce’s Trekside Fairy Queen, there was something about this quality girl that really appealed, perfect size with substance yet feminine & has a lovely outline standing, nice head & eye with typical expression, looks at you with a wicked glint, good strong broad back end for 9 months & in the best of coats, moved well, has a happy animated attitude. BP, RCC;

2 Coles’ Tinka Tykes Golden Girl, another attractive girl who showed really well, pretty head, good eye & mouth, not as true in front or the length of neck as 1, a brindle in good coat of excellent texture & condition, strong sturdy quarters & well boned for size & age.

JB (2)

1 Kirk & Kenny’s Willingford Royal Ermine, attractive one in good harsh black coat & lovely condition, correct for skull, & eye & mouth, short backed with tail on top but rather slack in topline, good broad back end which she used well moving, showed very well;

2 Meek’s Benartybrae Love In A Mist at Benbetham, nice headed bitch, correct for eye shape & colour, would like a better bite, excellent length of neck leading into short back with high set tail, not the strength & width behind of winner but a better topline standing & moving.

NB (1)

1 Schwarz & Daly’s Tredaly Ask Alice, nice overall type of bitch with attractive head & a good mouth, feminine & appealing with short back, correct broad, long ribs & shown in great condition, correct black coat, would appear better in outline if she had a better length of neck.

PGB (3)

1 Shadbolt’s Akura Starbux, nice general type of wheaten bitch who was attractive with a great outline standing, head OK, good eye & mouth correct for length of neck, moved well both ends, good strong quarters, has plenty of substance & bone, is a shade plain, but her showiness more than makes up for it;

2 Corney’s Rilynson Farside Of The Moon, liked this girl’s eye & expression but her head & substance is not as good as 1, in the best of black coats & good condition, a bit straight behind but didn’t move too badly when she wasn’t bouncing over the grass, has a good outline standing.

LB (7,2)

1 Cole’s Berrybreeze Colour My Life, not the easiest class to judge but was a nice general type with attractive head, good dark eye, lovely mouth, her good length of neck leads into the correct length of back, however stands too high in topline at the back end & has not the best texture coat, moved quite well back & forth, in good condition & showed well;

2 Hardy’s Trakside Springtime of Magandthan, nice type of brindle, OK for head, & eye & mouth, has a short stocky build with good ribs, liked her expression but didn’t move as well as winner, showed well.

OB (8,1)

Lots of quality in this class right down the line, I’m sure some would change places another time.

1 Kenny’s Ch Millingfoird Cloudberry, I couldn’t take my eyes off this one as she stood there gazing at her handler using her neck to full advantage & portraying that true breed expression looking down her nose & creating that arrogant look, she may be a smaller one but has correct substance with strong bone for size, shows off her ultra short backline & strong quarters, for perfection would like a stronger topline but this pales into insignificance compared to her overall quality type & showmanship, she moved really well covering the ground with ease & out-moving all the bitches to win the CC & finally BOB over the dog;

2 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Glad All Over, this girl has lots of quality & is so attractive in excellent coat & moved well, nice head, & eye & expression but is not as short as the winner or the puppy bitch, nor so good in ribs but I did find her appealing & in better coat than the quality third placing.
