Bath 11 Judge

SCOTTISH BATH 11 Judge: Miss M F Herd SCOTTISH JUDGE BATH 11 Scottish Terriers I loved my chilly day judging my favourite breed. I felt that in some instances, star quality was lacking. I think most of us need to look & think again, especially when you see the quality overseas & they have achieved this from our stock! MPD (5) 1 Marshall’s Rolanka Pass The Buck to Benartybrae, 7 months, wheaten in lovely coat & condition, short, low to ground, loved his togetherness, excellent head & expression, plenty of substance, moved well; 2 Earls’ Rolanka Bucks Fizz, litter brother to 1, may well change places in future, most comments for 1 apply, lovely eye & expression, loved his colour. Preferred 1 for compactness; 3 Pagram’s Torcraig Dizzy Gilliespie. PD (2) Not overall impressed with quality of class considering this is our future stud dogs. 1 Greenwood’s Petmon Royal Magician, black of substance. Would prefer better run in. Good coat & condition, moved OK; 2 Hill’s Samstever Ethan, brindle. Lacked substance, nothing of him. Lovely eye & expression, moved OK. JD (3) 1 Peace’s Berrybreeze Say Cheese, black with excellent run in & topline, low to ground, loved head & expression, moved well, won class with loads to spare; 2 Thomson’s Ashgate Going For Gold, wheaten, liked head & expression. Would prefer better front. Moved OK. Would prefer more drive; 3 P Royal Magician. ND (1) 1 P Royal Magician. PGD (5) 1 Marshall’s Benartybrae Bugatti, brindle, excellent condition & presentation, level topline, low to ground, plenty of substance, loved head & expression, covered ground well, credit to owner; 2 Greenwood’s Petmon Light Of My Life, black. Would prefer better ear placement & front. Moved OK. LD (4) 1 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Dizzee Rascle, black of substance, low to ground, lovely head & expression, excellent run in & covered ground without effort, pushed hard for high honours; 2 Tovey’s Trackside Flyingscotsman at Charmic, preferred ear placement of 1. Low to ground, plenty of substance, moved OK, well presented. OD (6) 1 Farrand’s Ch Amberyl Beinn Mor, black of substance, excellent head & expression, very low to ground, well balanced with excellent ribs, excellent run in, well constructed shoulders, covered ground with purpose, well presented & handled. CC & BOB; 2 Earl’s Ch Turnaware Buccaneer, brindle, have judged before & awarded first RCC, same comments apply, full of quality, credit to breeder. Not quite on his toes as I have previously seen & admired. RCC; 3 Mahmoudi’s Brio Quizzical. MPB (2) 1 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Glad All Over, black, very low to ground, loved head & expression, so alert & on her toes, excellent run into well constructed shoulders, so short with level topline, quality puppy, moved over ground with so much momentum, so sound. CC; 2 Coles’ Berrybreeze Colour My Life, black, litter sister, same comments apply. Not as short as 1 & not quite the showgirl. PB (2) 1 Young’s Stuane Floral Dance, brindle, excellent level topline, low to ground, excellent harsh coat, lovely head & expression, covered ground extremely well, so full of character, will watch this lovely lady with interest; 2 B Colour My Life. JB (3) 1 Kelly’s Glenboiug Lady Gaga at Carseview, black of substance, low to ground, stood foursquare, lovely head & expression, moved well; 2 S Floral Dance; 3 Orr’s Blackthorpe Betty On The Box. NB (0). PGB (8) 1 Marshall’s Benartybrae Charleston, brindle, lots of substance, excellent run in, moved very well, beautifully presented & handled to advantage, loved head, expression & ear carriage; 2 Maidment’s Berrybreeze Explorer, black of similar quality to 1. Bit sluggish on move. Lovely head & expression. Just preferred movement of 1; 3 Cole’s Rabbonai Naughty But Nice.
