PARSON JACK RUSSELL JUDGE SKC AUGUST 11

Parson Russell Terriers

PD (1)

1 Roberts & Murray’s Chataway Pheasant Plucker, well shaped head, good bite, strong teeth, well placed ears, dark eye, good reach of neck & topline, nicely ribbed back, easy to span, moved & handled well. Stood alone but well deserved his win.

JD (0).

PGD (2)

1 Pell’s Cassacre Sea Urchin at Olliebank, tri, correct wedge shaped head, darkest of eyes, well placed ears, good bone, in excellent good rough coat, correct topline, good turn of stifle, well ribbed back, could span;

2 Moore’s Moonreapers Billy Bones, t/w smooth, correct size, not easy for Smooths to hide faults. Preferred head of 1 but good bite & ear carriage, nice reach of neck, good coat, easy to span, raced round the ring as though his life depended on it.

LD (2)

1 Johnson’s Garsayno Magic Man, tri, strong head, dark eye, excellent bite & ear placement, good bone, strong topline, in good coat, loose pelt, good turn of stifle, moved handled well;

2 Liddell’s Alncroft Artik, taller dog, well shaped head, good reach of neck, well ribbed back, nice turn of stifle. Movement let him down.

OD (6)

Spoilt for choise in this class.

1 Vaughan’s Ch Parruss Comanche Chief, eyecatching tri, excellent wedge shaped head, dark eye, well placed ears, strong teeth, good reach of neck fitting into nice layback, correct topline with hint of rise over the loin, easy span, in top condition, good turn of stifle without exaggeration, moved & handled expertly. BOB;

2 Sollis’ Ch Mister Bonamonty, sire of winner (hope he is proud of the fact). Super head, good reach of neck & shoulder, nicely ribbed back. Carrying a little weight but could span. Moved & handled well. RBD;

3 Hooley’s Ch Hoolmark Johnny Ringo.

PB (3)

This class could have been from the same litter, they were so alike. The noise of the wind in the tent upset them all a little.

1 White’s Ebblechase Elspeth, grew in confidence as she went round the ring. 10 months, lovely feminine head, keen expression, good reach of neck into nice layback of shoulder, lovely turn of stifle, neat front. The further she went the more I liked her. BP;

2 Denby-Gardner’s Ammanday Affinity, much the same applies to this one. Didn’t quite settle the same in movement but expect to see her do better in future;

3 Philp’s Mulhross Gambler’s Luck.

JB (0).

PGB (3)

1 Smith’s Bethane Liberton Lassie, all white, broken coated, spot on for size, workmanlike, easy to span, good front, wedge shaped head, strong teeth, well placed ears, good topline, nice turn of stifle, good rib back, moved & handled well. Strongly considered in final line up;

2 Moore’s Moonreapers Floradora, lovely for type t/w rough, correct on size, easy to span, well ribbed back, lovely turn of stifle. Blew her chance by pulling her way round the ring, upset by the noise of the wind;

3 Harcourt-Morris’ Gwragged Annwn Evona.

LB (5)

This class gave me a problem, apart from 1 they were all affected by the wind making movement erratic to say the least.

1 Bull & Stark’s Clauval Japonica Lady, old West Country type, a bit on the tall side but spannable. Wedge shaped head, good bite, good reach of neck, well ribbed back. Could have moved better but at least she stood;

2 White’s Ebblechase Rosanna, t/w, correct size, good front, easy span, good turn of stifle, feminine head. Let herself down in line up by completely hunching up;

3 Walker’s Ammanday Apple.

OB (5)

1 Smith’s Bethane Hulabaloo, tri, striking bitch, well shaped head, dark eye, strong bite, good ear carriage, good reach of neck into good layback, good bone, well ribbed back, easy span, strong hindquarters, moved & handled well. BB;

2 Bull & Stark’s Tarara Boom De Ay, lovely feminine head, darkest of eyes, good reach of neck into good layback, neat front, well ribbed back, good topline, easy span, moved & handled well. RBB;

3 Roberts & Murray’s Ch Mindlen Mataura.
