PARSON NAT DOG SHOW 09 Judge: Mrs Vera Harcourt-Morris PARSON JUDGE NAT DOG SHOW 09 Parson Russell Terriers I had a great time judging the Parsons. I had the pleasure of going over some lovely terriers, the standard was very good, much more consistent, which says a lot for the breeders present. I was very pleased with my line-up in both dogs & bitches, the quality was very good. My BOB was the best dog I have handled for a long time, although still a youngster, a great example of what the breed should look like. MPD (4,1a) 1 Newport’s Digaden Adventuruss, rough coated tri, great coat & loose pelt, body still developing, real baby but shows good promise, very well handled; 2 Sheldon’s Jacksden Lord Nelson, lots to like, very good type. Would not show well for his handler; 3 Selby’s Jacksden Spot On. PD (4,1) 1 Farrow’s Glenholm Happy Go Lucky, what a super youngster, dark tri, moved out like a dream, I adored his head, well shaped body, excellent double coat, tight feet, everything as it should be, I have never given a puppy BOB, but this dog is something special, will do wonders for the breed at stud. CC, BOB & BP; 2 Hooley’s Hoolmark Ready To Go, nice tri, great bite & lovely large teeth, correct head shape, developing nicely, moves true. Not in the best of coat; 3 J Spot On. JD (3) 1 Cutler & Hughes’ Trumpmoor Exmoor Jimny, t/w rough coated, compact in stature, very true for type, good head & expression, good tailset, tight feet. Needs to tighten up in front but movement OK; 2 Frost-Copping’s Goldfern Grand Lad, tri, rough coat, moved out very well, good overall angulations. A little deep in chest, very nicely handled; 3 Kannangara’s Sherosco Lucky Lad. PGD (2,1) 1 Moore’s Moonreapers Exporer, very happy personality, b/w broken coated boy, flexible rib, topline on the move good, nice dog to go over, lots to like. Not the easiest to handle in the ring. LD (5) 1 Denby-Gardener’s Ammanday Augury, smart b/w dog, good rough coat, loose pelt, great head & expression, large teeth, in hard working condition, movement loose & true, straight front & correct angulations all round, this kennel is really sending out some quality stock. RCC; 2 Lumbard’s Alncroft Hemlock of Morgandare, very showy dog, in good condition, beautifully handled. Head shape could be better for type. Movement very good, coat & pelt very good, dark eyes & keen expression; 3 Pell’s Ollieback Star Performer. OD (5,1) 1 Brown & Grange’s Ch Afinlea Roadside Skipper, well marked badger head, lovely size, well balanced in the hand, keen expression, lovely movement, took this class with ease; 2 Chapman & Ferguson’s Foxwarren Tomass, in hard condition, topline good on the move, nicely balanced in the hand, good rib & rear angulations; 3 Highfield’s Bradpole Blanc De Blancs. MBP (3) 1 Frost-Copping’s Goldfern Grand Cru, very composed puppy, lovely type, good tight feet, great expression, moves out very well for a baby. Would like to see her in a year or so, very promising; 2 Rimmer’s Kylini Spellabound, nice girl, t/w rough coat, nice head & front, loose correct coat, moves out well, lovely body shape. Not much between these two; 3 Newport’s Digaden Glamouruss. PB (2) 1 Chen’s Pacolito Phaithfull, good head & expression, very good pigmentation around eyes, great personality, very smart, nicely shown; 2 Bigland’s Heytrop Tri, lovely bitch puppy. Rather unsure on the table, obviously been upset at some time, given time to get her confidence back she will be up with the winners. JB (1) 1 Frost-Copping’s Goldfern Glory, tri rough coated bitch, rather finely built, kind expression, good feet & body shape, sound movement. PGB (13,1) 1 Hughes’ Wind Beneath My Wings of Ruffntuff, worthy winner of a good class, t/w broken coated girl, ideal Parson for size & general conformation, great expression, feminine but keen, good front, well balanced in the hand, moved with the long loose stride of the true Parson; 2 Kannangara’ Parruss Twist Of Lemon, smooth, good double coat, loose pelt, good head & expression, mouth good, good lay of shoulder, moved beautifully, very well handled. Head markings detract the eye, but look again, it’s a lovely head; 3 Hooley’s Mindlen Blue Bottle at Hoolmark. LB (5) 1 White’s Ebblechase Rosanna, t/w broken coated girl, beautifully constructed, great head, good large teeth, correct reach of neck, well laid shoulders, lovely expression, excellent drive from rear, should make a ch in time, full of herself. Made her handler work. RCC; 2 Denby-Gardner’s Ammanday Apparition, good Parson, shows like a dream, keen expression, great front & general conformation, lovely dark eyes, moved out strongly, great showgirl; 3 Chapman’s Foxwarren Lyton. OB (4,1) 1 Boggia’s Ammanday Arrow to Boughton, white, true to type, dark eyes, lovely head, thick double jacket, good leathers, tight feet, in top condition, great profile on the move, handled to perfection. CC; 2 Smith’s Bethane Hulabaloo, tri, heavier in front than 1 but lovely type, very nice to go over, movement very true; 3 Pell’s Olliebark My Girl. Breeders 1 Denby-Gardener’s. VERA HARCOURT-MORRIS
