PARSON JACK RUSSELL LEEDS 14 Judge: Mrs Lynne Bull BEST OF BREED : 4963 HOOLEY Mrs M & Mr M Hoolmark Boppin Robyn JW PARSON JACK RUSSELL JUDGE LEEDS 14 Parson Russell Terriers It was a pleasure to judge at this show & I was very pleased to see many exhibits of the correct type & in such good condition, though I would like to raise concerns for breeders & exhibitors about the size & conformation of some dogs. The Parson is essentially a working breed & many exhibits could not be spanned nor had balance, being heavily front loaded. I also noticed that some lacked the slight rise over the loin, with tails set higher than desirable, affecting flexibility & movement. There were some missing teeth & some dirty teeth, while overall correct bites. PD (3,1a) 1 Denby-Gardners’ Tubize Mr Wriggle at Ammanday, lovely head nicely shaped with shallow stop, keen eye. Correct hard double coat, narrow front & well laid back shoulders, length of body in correct proportion, moves well, needs to settle; 2 Rimmer’s Kylini Hocus Pocus, smooth dog with a hard close coat in great condition. Strong head, overall muscular & fit, moves well. JD (6) 1 Newport & Baker’s Sweetjumper’s Gentle Twister, nice type & size, good strong head & dentition. Correct front & rear angulation, nice topline & tailset, moves well when settled; 2 Rimmer’s Kylini Hocus Pocus; 3 Smith’s Tubize Mr Sizzle. PGD (3,1) 1 Farrows’ Glencymmreig Two In One, nicely sized & easily spannable, balanced in conformation. Good head & correct bite, keen eye, nicely angulated front & rear, moves well. Good double smooth coat in great condition; 2 Hall’s Frithgarth Magic Sandpiper, nice head, lovely keen expression. Good topline & rear angulation, shows & moves nicely. LD (5) 1 Jones’ Neelan’s American Dream, strong head with keen dark eye, well proportioned & correct mouth. Narrow front, well laid back shoulder, strong back & tail set just right. Well angulated & balanced front & rear lending drive on the move. Pushed hard for top place. RCC; 2 Chapman’s Foxwarren Picasso, lovely tri dog with good head & keen dark eye, narrow front, well laid back shoulder & good topline, moved well; 3 Broadberry’s Ratscallion Tactical Move.
