PARSON JACK RUSSELL LEEDS 12 Judge: Mrs Eileen Needham PARSON JACK RUSSELL JUDGE LEEDS 12 Parson Russell Terriers I greatly enjoyed judging this breed & was delighted with the entry. MPD (1) 1 Rimmer’s Kylini Celtic Tiger, pleasing head qualities, nicely balanced puppy of 8 months with good shoulder & front, in good jacket, thick loose pelt, spannable, driving well from hindquarters, moved well. PD (1) 1 Baker & Swift’s Pacolito Phirstprize, really attractive 11 months, who I liked, strong with good body proportions, well constructed shoulder & front, pleasing head proportions, well carried ears, good mouth, lovely well-muscled neck flowing into correct topline, loose thick pelt, spannable, driving well from the rear on the move. BP. JD (2) 1 Wilson’s Pacolito High Phlyer to Dragonmoor, attractively headed typy dog, well proportioned in body, perhaps a little tall, needs to settle yet on the move & on the table. PGD (3) 1 Hooley’s Hoolmark Sundance Kid, the best in this class I felt for general type, well made in body & pleasing in front construction but a touch over angulated in rear I felt, stands himself very well naturally, presented in correct coat, moved reasonably well; 2 Brown & Grange’s Afinlea Ratzer Ringlet, difficult choice between 2 & 3, this one rather on the heavy side all through, thought his head rather too ‘cheeky’, action rather stilted both fore & aft when on the move; 3 Hall’s Frithgarth Magic Sandpiper. LD (6) 1 Newport’s Digaden Playing Away, good here for type, general balance & size, quite good head proportions but a bit too much stop for perfection, good eye & ears, shoulder angulation good with pleasing front, correct proportions in body & moving from well muscled quarters, in pleasing jacket & spannable; 2 Wilson’s Pacolito Phormula One to Dragonmoor, bigger dog & rather heavy in build, typy & in good jacket, head well proportioned with good eye & ears, reasonable shoulder construction & enough bend of stifle behind for balanced movement; 3 Smith-Fenton’s Buster Bob at Intack. OD (6) 1 Vaughan’s Ch Parruss Comanche Chief, attractive head, typy dog which appealed, typical expression, lovely dark eye, very good general balance in outline with particularly well made neck flowing into correct topline, good for size & spannable, moved truly both ends. CC & BOB; 2 Roberts & Murray’s Pacolito Prymeval Minden, I liked this generally soundly made dog, less flashy than winner, good head proportions, strong neck of good length flowing into correct topline, balanced angulation at both ends of well made body, moved well. RCC; 3 Hooley’s Ch Hoolmark Johnny Ringo. VD (2) 1 Brown & Grange’s Ch Afinlea Roadside Skipper, 10 years, in good nick & looking very fit in slim working condition still, moving well; 2 Doyle’s Alne Masterpiece of Ilexquercus, bit overweight in comparison to winner, but well made at both ends & moving well. MPB (1) 1 Hooley’s Hoolmark Boppin Robyn, I liked this very attractive 7 months, lovely head & expression, full of life & energy as they should be at this age, well constructed fore & aft with correct feet, shown in correct jacket with thick pelt, spannable, moving well. PB (3) 1 Baker & Swift’s Pacolito Phirstedition, two pleasing puppies of different types in this class but both with quality, the winner an 11 month, very well balanced all through good in neck & head with typical expression good front & shoulder with balanced angulation in stifle, jacket good for age, thick pelt, sound movement both ways, spannable; 2 Liddell’s Lyonmill Daydream, smaller than winner but well balanced overall, at 9 months not quite so developed in neck as winner, & is a more immature pup at present , time should help this one. JB (3) 1 Collis’ Riplington Black Cherry, one of two young bitches in this class, quite well balanced but easily distracted on the move, quite good head properties, but not enough angulation in shoulder & this was reflected in the rear; 2 Copping’s Dixie Delight Rutaaro, not so mature yet as winner & needs to settle in the ring, quite well made in neck & body construction but not quite enough angulation at both ends, in good coat & spannable. PGB (6) 1 Baker & Swift’s Pacolito Phinale at Ardencote, nice bitch attractively marked head of good proportions, typical breed expression, strong neck flowing into well made shoulder, balanced body proportions well angulated both ends, correct topline with well carried tail, moving well in spite of the very uneven ring, I liked her; 2 Roberts & Murray’s Pacolito Milarki, very pleasing one here, well made throughout, typical in head, eye & ears, pleasing angulation both in shoulder & stifle, moved quite well but might have benefitted from young handler not stringing her up so tightly; 3 Minett’s Pacolito Seksy. LB (8) 1 Newport’s Digaden Playing Truant, pleasing bitch to go over, correct head qualities, typical expression, eye & ears, strong correct neck of good length, well constructed in shoulder & front, correct topline, tail distracted a little from overall picture, but moved well; 2 Smith’s Bethane Liberton Lassie, plenty to like about her, typical head with strong neck, correct topline, well proportioned in body but not quite the balance in angulation of the winner, spannable; 3 Baker & Swift’s Spellbert Captain Alvida. OB (5) 1 Minett’s Princess Lilo, I loved this one, so well made all through, with typical breed head proportions, lovely terrier expression, correct strong neck & topline, very good angulation both in shoulder & rear, moving effortlessly across a ring with a surface which was far from ideal, looking as if she could do that all day long, correct jacket & pelt, spannable. CC; 2 Sutton’s Ch Pacolito Maid A Photune at Springbeck, I really liked in this very good class, similar to winner in many ways but just failed a touch in shoulder & upper arm, typical again in head, in good jacket & moving & showing well. RCC; 3 Roberts & Todd’s Chataway Careless. VB (0). EILEEN NEEDHAM |
