PARSON RUSSELL DARLINGTON 16 Judge: Mrs E P Hollings BEST OF BREED : 1280 WILSON Mrs A D Ch Pacolito Highly Prized At Dragonmoor PARSON RUSSELL JUDGE DARLINGTON 16 Parson Russell Terriers As always, at this professionally run show, David & Stuart have their eye on everything, exhibitors & judges are looked after royally. Thank you. I always enjoy this breed & from reading the names of the winners, as I am doing my critique, I seem to go for a type. VD (1) 1 Hall’s Frithgarth Jack Frost, whilst the chap is obviously of advancing age at 10½ years. He is of pleasing height & balance. Pleasing head & eye, strong jaw with big white well placed teeth, he retains his outline & has developed quarters. Supple skin & coat which is harsh in texture. MPD (0). PD (2) 1 Baker’s Pacolito Protolythic, this 9 months is undeniably a future star. Just depicts the breed in size & outline, with super head. Dark well placed eye with that attentive outlook & small well used ear. Really good forehand allows flowing neck fitting smoothly through well placed shoulder. Spans with firm back & developed loin. A real positive mover; 2 Davies & Davies-Wood’s Pacolito Protostar, has type, correct mouth & width to underjaw. Terrier expression from dark eye. Needs to settle in topline. Alert & lively went nicely. JD (1) 1 King’s Bramarno Prince Of Bohemia, pleasing for size, masculine & clean in outline. Muscular neck through decent topline & short firm loin. Tail could be better set. Coat close & harsh. PGD (2) 1 Minett’s Pacolito Second Edition to Rountfelley, sensible but alert & goes with true action & impulsion, showing how well made & balanced he is. A lovely Parson. Not in his best coat but what he has is correct in texture. He looked the part in the final run off & secured the RCC. Well done; 2 Towler’s Mindlen Mckenna at Ansabak, tidy in outline. Could have a touch more bone & therefore masculinity. Great character & good side action holding his shape. Just a little close behind. LD (2) 1 Hall’s Frithgarth Magic Sandpiper, quite typical in outline. Rather full in eye, decent muzzle with strong jaw. A touch full in ribs. Coat could be harsher. Presents a decent enough outline on the move & standing; 2 Sturdy’s Alncroft Imperial, good eye which is dark & well placed. Small well used ear. Rather full & deep in rib, which loses balance. Good temperament. OD (6) 1 Wilson’s Ch Pacolito Highly Prized at Dragonmoor, have written liked both 1 & 2, with different things appealing. Didn’t realise they both had the same affix. This chap took 1st for his overall balance, type & the way he just put up a performance that demanded attention at all times, even though inclement weather prevailed during this class & the challenge. Just has so much quality, is constructed so soundly all topped by excellent condition & jacket. Pleased to award him the CC & BOB & good to see he put all in, in the big ring to be shortlisted in the Group; 2 Baker’s Pacolito Special Edition, super balance, fit, typy in good muscular order. A grand clean, masculine dog, again soundly constructed & terrier attitude to display his attributes. Close up to winners; 3 Rimmer’s Maanmainion Doubleshot over Kylini. VB (2) 1 Newport’s Digaden Glamouruss, 7 years who is composed, yet still has terrier attitude. Smart bitch with well shaped feminine head with power in muzzle & jaw. Shows how well made she is by her sound active action. Very worthy BV; 2 Towler’s Andralok Dazzler at Ansabak, decent honest bitch. In good order & has good width to rear with hard muscle. Holds her firm outline at all times. Both lovely bitches. MPB (2,1) 1 King’s Riosset Raise The Roof, 7 months absolute charmer. Full of personality. Super head & eye. Good lines. Feminine with bone, well padded feet. Excellent jacket & supple skin. Spans with correct body for age. She should go far, just captivated me. Not sure her handler realised, she had to stay for the Puppy Group, which was a shame. BP. PB (6) Good class, always rewarding to have quality young classes. They represent the future of a breed. 1 R Raise The Roof; 2 Baker’s Pacolito Protocool, well, nothing to disappoint me here. A lovely true to type feminine young lady, retaining strength & balance. A little more professionally handled than the winner & works the ring with panache, just fell for the winner; 3 Newport’s Digaden Just So. JB (2) A couple of good un’s here. 1 Smith & Moon’s Alncroft Isle See, lovely sort all through. Made right, so she goes right & with real terrier style using the ring to advantage. Alert with good use of neat ears. Strong clean outline. A real smartie; 2 Hobson’s Dalbrok Duskey Dawn, such a pretty girl & a real terrier. Is well bodied, with power behind & firm muscular quarters. A touch erratic but caught moments of correct footfall & drive. PGB (3) 1 Storey & Kelly’s Pacolito Rumour Has It at Brizanrae, has bone & correct body to display balance. Good outlook & clean muscular neckline through correct angulation in shoulders to allow free forward reach as shown when she moves round the ring. Body is firm with good rib & spans. Stands on well padded feet. Tail strong & set on right used to display her confidence. In the final run off with the other winning bitches, she stepped up to the mark & therefore had to snatch the CC; 2 Laird’s Mindlen Freyja, good overall type, very sound which is reflected when asked to move. Really goes with lively action. Could just be less full in rib to give total balance. However a lovely sort; 3 Sturdy’s Alncroft In Time. LB (5,2) All 3 could move. 1 Broadberry’s Alncroft In Tune at Ratscallion, very pretty head on this well made girl. She has terrier boldness, looking straight back at you with a spark in her well shaped dark eye. Shapely & active. Stands on well boned legs with good padding to feet. Balanced proportions. Excellent jacket. Very close in the final; 2 Minett’s Rountfelley Beajewelled, lovely quality bitch, just preferred expression of winner, but nitpicking. She appeals for size, strength & type. Nothing overdone. Stands over her ground well .Uses herself on the move holding her outline; 3 Whiteley’s Sonateeka Take A Chance. OB (8) A great class to judge, we could use the whole large ring & these lovely bitches really vied for their places. 1 Smith & Moon’s Ch Alncroft I Spy, a real eyecatcher. She stands out, even in this quality class. Just nothing you would want differently. It was a pleasure to go over her & confirm that she is all that is required. I don’t really need to go into detail as it instantly evident to see. It was in the challenge that she just did not put up the performance of the ultimate winner, & therefore could only take RCC today. Different ground could have made a different end; 2 Liddell’s Alncroft Sovereign at Lyonmill, smart, sassy & very sound. So alert & cheeky, she really captures ones attention. Lovely body proportions with developed rump & strong hocks. Her construction deems that she can fulfil her job with ease; 3 Newport’s Digaden Made To Measure. PATSY HOLLINGS |
