PARSON RUSSELL CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 23 Judge: Mrs R Lewis PARSON RUSSELL JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 23 I would like to thank the officers and committee for my invitation to judge PRT’s,and the exhibitors who entered under me and gave me such a lovely entry. I have not been around the Parson ring for quite a while, so all the dogs were new to me. The exhibits were all presented well. Most were spannable and temperaments were wonderful. My main concerns were straight shoulders with short upper arms and this obviously affected movement most moved soundly but not with the desired reach and drive. It was lovely being on the green carpet but in our ring there were loose and loud drain covers that did upset a couple of dogs if they moved over them. SBD (1) 1 Boorman’s Foxfur Newark. Very happy boy who enjoyed his day. He has a good head with a very kind expression. He is well muscled with good bone. Good length of neck, clean over the shoulders. I liked his depth of brisket, balanced body and he moved happily around the ring. VD (1) 1 Smith’s Digaden Top Hat and Tails. 8 yrs old boy who is built in a bigger frame but he has a clean outline. Handsome head with expressive eyes and good pigment. Firm topline with lovely shaped rear quarters, moved soundly. PD (1) 1 Rimmer’s Plunkett Woody at Kylini. Workmanlike boy who is nearly out of puppy, obviously still has some maturing to do as he just needs to balance up but there is a lot to like about him. I liked his head with his neat ears and beautiful dark eyes. He has good bone and depth. He moved out well and happily. BDP Best junior and junior grp 4. Well Done. JD (3,1abs) 1 Rimmers Plunkett Woody at Kylini. 2 Biglands Heythrop Tamar, 13mth old boy who has an attractive outline, he just needs to drop in depth but again has plenty of time. Good length of neck, strong topline, good length of croup and tailset. Nicely angulated rear quarters with a good width of thigh, moved out well. PGD (3,1transferred) 1 Boorman’s Foxfur Newark. 2 Dixon’s Scapegrace Echo. I loved his head and expression with his neat ears. Straight front with neat feet. Good depth and bone, he is not as balanced as one but he is in lovely hard condition. LD (3,2) 1 Pell’s Hoolmark Ringo Starr at Olliebark. Another who has a kind and keen expression with lovely dark eyes and pigment. He has a nice outline, which is clean over the shoulders with moderate depth of chest and rise over the loin. In lovely condition and muscle tone. Moved happily and his tail never stopped wagging. OD (5,2) 1 Smith’s Ch Heythrop Task Master for Alncroft. Top quality boy. I loved his shape and clean outline, no lumps or bumps. He has that ‘look at me’ attitude that you can’t miss. He has a handsome head and keen eyes. He is so well balanced. His neck is strong of good length and neat over the shoulders. He has good front assembly with neat feet. Loved is depth of brisket, firm topline and loin. He has powerful hindquarters, great width of thigh and turn of stifles. He moved with purpose and he was beautifully presented and shown. BD and BOB. He looked beautiful in the group and was shortlisted. Congratulations. 2 Collis’ Ch Riplington See Your Dreams. Another lovely boy,who could do a day’s work. I liked his length of skull and muzzle, dark eyes and handsome expression. Loved his make and shape and his outline appealed to me. He has good shoulders, straight front, balanced body with a good rear end. He moved well and was presented and handled so well. Res BD. 3 Bigland’s Heythrop Toptag. GCD (3) 1 Pell’s Hoolmark Ringo Starr at Olliebark. 2 Rimmer’s Plunkett Woody at Kylini. 3 Boorman’s Foxfur Newark. SBB (2) 1 Dixon’s scapegrace Buffy. She has a lovely head and expression, clean cheeks and neat ears. She is longer coupled, has good bone and muscle tone. Nice over the shoulders with a straight front and tight feet. She moved out well. 2 Boorman’s Uk/ Vixenview Gypsy. She has a lovely sweet expression but could have used her ears better. Lovely dark eyes and pigment. She is workmanlike and has a sound front, moderate depth and good bone. Nicely angulated rear quarters and she moved happily around the ring. VB (3) 1 Collis’ Riplington Dream Image. I really fell for this 8yr old lady. She has a feminine expression, lovely wedge shaped head. Strong neck that cleanly met nicely angulated shoulders. Shapely body and so well balanced with well muscled hindquarters in lovely coat and condition. Attractive outline and she moved out well to take ResBB and Best veteran. 2 Shelton’s Boultmoor True delight. Another attractive lady I couldn’t believe she is 11 years old, a credit to her owner. I particularly liked her angulated rear quarters with a good turn of stifle. I appreciated her height to length ratio. She moved really soundly for one so young. Correctly proportioned body, beautiful hindquarters and good tailset in wonderful coat and condition. I’m sure she has a very bright future but today her front movement let her down. 2 Shakeshaft’s Chadbrook Risk and Reward 3 Boorman’s Vixenview Gypsy. PGB (2) 1 Dixon’s Scapegrace Buffy. 2 Biglands Heythrop Taranna. I really liked this bitch. It was such a shame that she was put off by the clunking drain covers.
