Parson Russell Terriers

Great show with a lovely atmosphere I was lucky to judge 2 of my favourite terrier breeds without tickets & one of my lovely gundog breeds with tickets. Good entries within all breeds. I was honoured to find I had Ch representing in all breeds.

PD (7,1a)

1 Woods’ Ardencote Taber, headed a lovely class of quality babies, a very attractive youngster with a super outline so well balanced with the required workmanlike look. Correctly shaped & balanced head, good broad skull with small thickish ears set carried correctly, bright alert dark eyes. Good length of neck set into sloping shoulders, back strong & straight to a loin, slightly arched firm hindquarters with well set on & carried tail, nicely ribbed on a good body, good angles front & rear, well muscled. Good thick skin & capable of spanning. Harsh close clear white coat with tan head. Straight strong legs with compact feet, very free sound mover with good ground coverage BPD, BP;

2 Baker’s Pacolito Special Edition, nicely balanced & built rough coated boy with harsh dense white body & tan head. Excellent tough skin & spannable. Well balanced head of correct shape, nice eye & ear positioning. Muscular long neck into broadish shoulder into firm backline with strong hindquarters, tail fraction low set. Well angled front with nice body with slightly arched loin, muscular hindquarters, good return of stifle & hocks;

3 Minett’s Pacolito Second Edition to Rountfelley.

1 Broadberry’s Foxthorn Huron at Ratscallion, just over the year & for me a star in the making. Loved his outline & balance, masculine correct shaped head, well furnished in b/t, thickish ears well carried, bright almond shaped eyes. Head carried well on long muscular neck, lovely backline, slight arch over loin, well set & carried tail. Thick skin & spannable behind well angled shoulder, beautiful rough harsh white coat. A muscular return of stifle with good second thigh, hocks & compact feet. Very sound free striding action. RBD;

2 Yerbury’s Beauforts Charles James, slightly taller & not as body balanced as 1, but has a nice outline & look. Brown furnished head of correct shape, little cheeky under his dark almond shaped eyes. Long neck, firm back, tail set on well. Body covered in harsh white coat with tan tail spot. Well angulated front & rear, little too much rib depth & not spannable. Straight well boned legs & compact feet, free sound mover.

1 Vaughan’s Ch Parruss Comanche Chief, fits the breed Standard correctly, very well built & workmanlike. Lovely wedge shaped head, good balance, dark almond expressive eyes, thickish well set on small ears. Strong long neck into well laid shoulders, firm topline with slight arch over the loin, firm hindquarters, well set on tail. Well angulated shoulder with depth of chest capable of a span, elbows close in. Correctly ribbed body, thick skin, covered in harsh white coat. Muscular well turned stifle, neat hocks, straight well boned legs with compact feet. Super mover with good side stride & sound both ends. BD, BOB;

2 Newport’s Sweetjumper’s Gentle Twister, nice height to length with good outline on the stance. Good wedge shaped head, rough furnished white with tan spot across over one eye, shorter in neck than 1 with a level sloping topline. Tail set on well. Straight front, deep chest just below elbows, not spannable. Well ribbed back body covered in a nice coat texture. Correct muscled return of stifle, hocks & neat feet. Not as positive as my winner but sound both ends.

1 Bigland’s Ch Heythrop Tiadrop, very pretty well constructed 7½ years, beautiful feminine head, well positioned tan ears, dark kind almond eyes, strong long neck, well laid back shoulder, firm back, nice tail carriage on strong hindquarters. Lovely skin & white rough textured white coat. Correct angulated shoulder, spannable behind, correct depth of chest & ribs, free elbows, nice boned straight legs & tight compact feet, muscular return of stifle, second thigh & good hocks, super mover, free ground coverage & sound. BV;

2 Newport’s Pacolito Xceptional, at 9½ years is looking good & well muscled. Well presented dense rough coat. Slightly stronger well shaped feminine head, muscular long neck, correct back balance, slightly arched over loin, nice quarters & held slightly short tail. Well ribbed body with thick skin & spannable behind shoulder. Good return of stifle, second thigh, nice bone & feet, moved out well & soundly;

3 Kannagara’s Parruss Twist Of Lemon.

PB (4)

1 Baker’s Pacolito American Edition, headed a nice class, for her tender age this 6 month old was very forward in her development & breed type. Sweetest of well shaped heads with her tan colouring & white blaze, bright almond eyes, ears well placed, just look a little large at present, sure she will grow into them. Super firm topline, slight arching over loin to the best of set & carried tail. Lovely depth & angled front capable of a span. Nice elbows set just below her brisket, nice straight legs, well boned tight feet, nice ribbing, well developed hindquarters, stifle, hocks. Presented in a nicely marked coat of good texture & condition. Well handled & presented, moving just the correct pace to be sound both ends with nice ground coverage;

2 Broadberry’s Ainscroft In Tune at Ratscallion, I loved the outline & head shape of this 11 month old, much more mature than my winner but I felt her topline was spoilt by her low tail carriage & set. Feminine wedge shaped head, well furnished & coloured as was her super harsh textured coat with its mix of tri colours on white. Well angled front & rear, nice shoulder placement & depth to chest capable of being spanned. Well ribbed body with enough substance, nice tuck to loin, muscular hindquarters, stifle & second thigh. Moved out very soundly on straight legs & feet;

3 Collis’ Riplington Dream Image.

JB (1)

1 Newport’s Digaden Made To Measure, just a 6 months baby & looking her age, has a pretty tan coloured well worked & wedged head, nice almond dark eyes, ears a little low set. Neck a little short, steep in shoulder to upper arm with enough depth to chest, straight well balanced length of leg, neat compact feet. Firm topline of good length, well developed hindquarters, tail little low set. Well bodied & ribbed back with slightly arched loin, body covered in harsh close white coat, could be clearer of tick marks. Well developed return of stifle, in previous class did not seem to drive out but here she showed drive from the rear & enough forward action & was sound.

PGB (7,2)

1 Bigland’s Heythrop Tiffin, loved the outline & overall conformation. Very well muscled & workmanlike body. Super firm topline & correct slightly arched loin with lovely set tail with nice carriage. Very pretty patched marks on a wedge shaped head, lovely eye shape & earset & carriage, muscular long neck fitting into well laid shoulders. Correct upper arm, good chest depth capable of being spanned, elbows set just below held well in on straight well boned legs of good length, compact feet, well constructed & ribbed body covered in rough harsh white coat. Muscular hindquarters, correct return of stifle, second thigh & neat set hocks. Very sound both ends with plenty of drive & forward throw. Happy tail action on the move;

2 Minett’s Rountfelley Beajewelled, nice breed type with lovely confirmation & workmanlike body, well developed & muscled. A bitch with a lovely brown coated correct shaped head, a sweet expression from kind dark eyes, well used ears, super length of neck, laid back shoulders into firm slightly level topline, just not enough arching. Well set on tail carried nicely. Super white rough coat in nice presentation & condition Muscular return of stifle, let down hocks. Covered the ground with good side stride, slightly narrow behind but sound, good front action;

3 Rimmer’s Kylini Mona Lisa.

OB (9,2)

Super class.

1 Smith & Moon’s Ch Aincroft I Spy, very attractively marked dense rough coated bitch with a lovely outline & style, holds herself well on the stance & the move. Breed type head with delightful expressive dark almond shaped eyes. Small v-shaped thickish well carried ears. Clean long neck with width at her shoulders, well laid firm topline with slight arch over loin, best tailset & carriage. Correct angulated front, moderate chest depth capable of spanning, well ribbed back in a body with good tone. Muscular hindquarters, excellent return of stifle, second thigh, hocks set low, straight correctly balanced legs & compact feet. Good front & rear action, sound both ends with good ground coverage. BB, BOS;

2 Baker’s Ch Pacolito Phirstedition, another with an overall picture of balance & looking very working like in her well presented rough white coat with her bulls eye patch on one eye, sweet expression. Feminine wedge shaped head on clean long neck, well laid shoulder, firm correct topline with slight rise over loin, well set tail. Well angulated front, little too much depth of chest making a span difficult. Straight balanced & boned legs with tight feet. Nicely ribbed body, good return of stifle, second thigh & hocks set low. Moved out with sound front & rear with ground covering stride;

3 Woods’ Ardencote Trintimes.

GCB (2)

1 Nixon’s Gonetoground Go For Gold, slightly taller bitch & a little long cast, she did look balanced on the stance. I judged her firstly in the lovely open bitch class where she was placed fourth. Very attractive rough coated t/w head with dark expressive eyes & neat well held ears, strong long neck, firm correct backline, nice set tail. Good built body covered in quality rough white coat. Well angulated front & rear with depth to chest & strength to her hindquarters. Straight well boned legs & feet, a little flat, moved out soundly with drive;

2 P Twist Of Lemon, lovely old girl now nearly into her 10th year, sweet head needing more breed type, lovely dark almond eyes, ears need to settle. Enough length of neck, little short in backline but still well toned, body carrying too much weight, well presented harsh white coat. Enough front angles to straight well boned legs & tight feet, hindquarters strong, enough return of stifle, moved out well & soundly for her age.
