PARSON RUSSELL JUDGE BOSTON 23

Firstly, I would like to thank the committee of Boston and District Canine Society for inviting me to judge Parson Russell Terriers. I had a pleasing entry with some excellent exhibits to go over. On the whole I felt breed type was varied but the majority had much needed thick pelts and harsh coats. All exhibits had good bites but some could benefit from better dental care. On the whole, most were spannable and movement was good. I would like to thank all exhibitors for their entry and support.

PD (3)

1. Pacolito Resurrection (Baker). Well balanced male, strong and masculine of nice size. Pleasing head and good proportions. Strong flat skull and keen expression. Dark eye. Correct bite and dentition. Good reach of neck but needs to tighten up a little in front. Spannable with thick pelt and harsh weatherproof coat. Excellent moderate rear angulation. Correct topline and tailset. Strode out well with confidence to take BD and BPIB.

2. Pacolito Multiplicity (Knight) 7 mth old youngster. Up to size but balanced with good strong masculine head. Ears a little heavy and need to settle. Correct bite and dentition. Good reach of neck with excellent lay of shoulder. Just spannable with good tailset and rear. A little loose on the move but will come with maturity.

3. Vixenview Zorro (Johnston)

PGD (1)

1 Affinlea Pale Tussock (Brown). This boy is of lovely size and caught my eye on entering the ring although he stood alone. Very well balanced dog who just needed a little more masculine head and would prefer more eye pigmentation. Excellent ear carriage and correct dentition and bite. Lovely well laid back shoulders. Spanned easily. Thick harsh coat with loose thick pelt. In excellent hard and fit condition. Correct tailset. Moderate rear angulation which gave strong rear drive both ways.

OD (6,2)

1 Ch Heythrop Taskmaster for Alncroft (Smith) Lovely outline and nicely sized male. In fit hard condition. Strong masculine head with focused expression. Correct dentition and bite but alot of tartar seen. Straight front and perfectly laid shoulder. Good feet and easily spannable. Thin on coat today but can see harshness coming through. Well angulated rear and good tailset. Worthy Champion and best mover today.

2. Partridgedale Flynn (Hobson) Bigger male than 1. Reasonably well balanced. Broad flat skull and strong jaw. Correct dentition and bite. Good reach of neck. Straight and more upright front and rear. Not as easily spanned as 1. Tight harsh coat and thick pelt. Moved OK.

3. Digaden Top Hat and Tails (Smith)

Special Beginners Dog (1)

1 Frithgarth Stone Meadow (Hall)

PB (5,3)

1 Vixenview Montero of Shemist (Stock) 7 mth old compact and confident youngster with athletic drive and enthusiasm. Pleasing strong feminine head and keen expression. Lovely ear carriage. Correct dentition and bite. Enough reach of neck onto laid back shoulders. Easily spannable with good rear quarters. Moved well.

2 Digaden Jinntipple (Newport) 6 mth old raw youngster who just wasn’t sure of herself today. Nice size with feminine head and correct dentition and bite. A little heavy in ear at the moment. Good reach of neck and shoulder. Straight front. Easily spanned and in good harsh coat and pelt. Would prefer more moderate angulation front and rear. Needs to settle on the move.

JB (4,2)

1 Digaden Matchmaker (Newport) Overall very good breed type with a lovely head, eye and keen expression. Correct dentition and bite. Spannable, good topline and quarters and shown in good coat. Would like to see her more on her toes. Moved well.

2 Digaden Jinntipple (Newport)

PGB (4)

1 Tophead Saffron (Newstead) Very nice size and outline. 2 year old with super feminine wedge shaped head and good ear carriage. Correct dentition and bite carrying big strong clean teeth. Quality straight front with easy spannability. Excellent harsh broken coat with super thick pelt. Just the right amount of angulation. Moved well all ways. Pleased to award her BB and BOB.

2 Digaden Run with the Pack (Newport) Lovely type with strong but feminine head. Well placed ears. Good bite and balanced length of neck into well placed shoulder. At only 9 months old this youngster just needs to mature. Well angulated quarters. Carried herself well on the move. A lot to like and can see her winning top awards in future.

OB (8,3)

1 Vixenview Miss Cash (Manson & Lynch) Super smooth coated bitch of hard workmanlike type. Well balanced throughout. In excellent condition with good muscle tone, hard pads and feet. An attractive strong feminine head who has a keen focused expression. Strong white teeth displaying correct bite and full dentition. Clean front, easy to span. Harsh coat and thick loose pelt. Strong rear with correct angulation and strong second thigh. Moved OK.

2. Muhlross Magic Diamond (Newstead) Good proportions with no exaggeration in this 4 year old bitch. Lovely feminine head with correct bite, dark eyes and good ear set. Good strong straight front legs and tight feet. Carrying a little weight today so just spannable. Good coat with thick and loose pelt. Moved well. Pushed hard for 1st place.

3. Alncroft Isle See (Hobson)

Jill Young (Chadbrook)
