PARSON JACK RUSSELL BORDER UNION 11 Judge(s) MS S IGGLESDEN BD CH STARS AND STRIPES (MR& MRS D & MR DC ROBERTS & TODD) PARSON RUSSELL TERRIER Some general comments if i may, must watch the size of some exhibits, while we dont want the fine small type of parson, we dont want anything over 14", plus ribcages are getting barrel like rather than egg shaped. It is very important to be able to span a parson, while I admit my hands aren't the biggest, I did struggle to span some. along with this, toplines are getting too flat, where has the rise over the loin area gone? I was looking for a dog who fitted the standard and could do a day's work. P (2) 1 Roberts & Murray Mindlen Mcflurry 10 months old male of a slightly larger type, just about spannable for me, lovely free mover, movement good esp in profile, where he really drove round the ring. Picks up all of a piece and not heavy in front. Presented in a good harsh jacket and a thick loose pelt. Liked his head whhich is of correct proportions, masculine and with correct bite. His eyes are of the almond shape required. Presents a good general outline and carries his tail up high. As with most of the dogs here his topline could be a bit more obvious. bp. 2 Philp's Mmuhlross Gamblers Luck, at first glance I thought she was my winner but unfortunately let her self down on the move, esp on the up and down, throwing her right rear leg out. Played her handler up a little also. Did like her type and size very much, very handy and easily spannable as they should be. Looks feminine without weakness, I think if she gets plenty of road work then her movement should improve. Has lots of quality and this showed in me awarding her RBB. J (1) 1 Steel Kingpar Callista alert show girl, good honest bitch, sound and correctly proportioned, neatly presented, tail carried well, good topline, slightly finer in type and if put to the right dog could have some useful progeny. Lovely free mover. Head looks a bit long and not as strong as needed. Though her eyes are dark and of correct shape. As expected she was easy to span. PG (5,2) 1 Johnson's Garsayno Magic Man, lovely type and of an ideal size, liked him very much.a neat young man with a straight narrow front, moderate bone. Good harsh jacket with required undercoat. He was easily spannable, a good working terrier with easy flowing movement. Medium length of neck and picks up balanced. Liked his head also which had enough strength throughout. Full of breed type. RBD. 2 Roberts & Murray's Ardencote Tangle With Mindlen, alert and athletic looking smooth, good strong head with such a keen expression. His dark eyes will get him everywhere! His straight narrow front appealed greatly and although I could span him it wasnt as easy as first. Hope he doesnt get any bigger. Correct rise in topline which was more obvious as he was a smooth. A useful working terrier that did move well particularly in profile. 3 Smith's Bethane Liberton Lassie. OD(2) 1 Roberts & Todd's Ch Stars And Stripes. Sharon Igglesden |
