PARSON RUSSELL JUDGE BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 19

Thank you for a very interesting entry, mixed in size and proportions. Heads were largely of the correct wedge shape. Excellent open class for depth of quality, thank you. My top winners filled my eye for type and proportions and all looked fit for purpose. Thanks to my stewards Sue Hann and Alan Mackenzie.

SBD (2,0)

1 Hall Frithgarth Stone Meadow. Spannable and good coated dog who falls away too severely over the croup. Fair head but ears could be neater. He won this place on coat and topline.

2 Taylor Foxthorn Pewac. Standing he could have won the class on outline and I preferred his head. He was a little heavy in rib and not in good coat. He can do better when he has coat and his young handler moves him with more purpose.

MPD (2,0)

1 Newport Cudweed Master of The Hounds (Imp) 8 months who looks just a shade too compact for perfect balance at the moment but he has excellent head shape and proportions, good ear and eye and excellent coat and good tailset. Very good mover. BPIB.

2 Hall Frithgarth Master the World just 6 months and I liked his leg length and proportions. Easily spanned. Good skull but needs to develop a little stop. A touch too marrow in chest at the moment and his front action reflects this. Has promise.

PD (2,1)

1 King Parkpoint Passion and Tonic with Riosset, top sized dog of almost 12 months. Very good neck into shoulders which gives excellent profile stride. Good head. Spannable rib. Much to like about him. At the moment a little tied in the elbows and maturity in chest should help this. Full of type.

PGD (2,0)

1 Taylor Foxthorn Pewac see SBD.

LD (5,0)

1 Smith Heythrop Task Master for Alncroft, almost 2 years with beautiful outline, balance and great scope and accuracy on the move. Spannable body with very good coat and skin. Head of good proportions. His movement was untouchable in the entry. DCC & BOB.

2 Hooley Hoolmark Johnny Guitar 2 years old who is very good for breed proportions and coat. Good head. Not the front action of the winner and his feet could be stronger.

3 Bigland Heythrop Taggert.

OD (7,0)

Excellent class.

1 Young Chadbrook Roux looked like a real working terrier in great coat and carrying himself well. Good proportions. I would prefer a little more rise over the loin for perfect tailset. He is a good mover. I liked him a lot but was pipped by the superlative movement of the Limit winner. RDCC.

2 Bigland Ch Ardencote Tutor with Heythrop 4-year-old with quite a lot of colour but looks fit for function and strode out well. A little strong in cheeks. Slightly heavier in front than the winner but I liked him a lot.

3 Broadberry Ch Mindlen Magnum at Ratscallion.

VD (2,1)

1 Rutter Boultmoor Badge of Honor 7-year-old who is sound on the move and in good coat. He is a little long for balance and has filled out in rib and body.

MPB (1,0)

1 King Riosset By Request 7 months and a little overawed with it all in the hall. Good head which needs to develop little more stop. Good eye. She shows correct rise over the loin and correct tailset. She will move better when she firms up and gains in confidence.

PB (2,1)

1 Neild Logierait Luna 11 months. A little short the leg for breed balance. Good headpiece and a very good crisp coat. Sound but could carry herself better. BPB.

JB (3,0)

1 Broadberry Forgefox Fern for Ratscallion, 14 months and raw but I liked her leg length and proportions, correct tailset and arched loin. Correct in front assembly and ribs. Her ear set can be better. Needs more coat to finish but full of type.

2 Newport Digaden Tip Top 12 months old and presented like all from this kennel, in top form. She scores in head and eye and rear. I thought she looked too deep in the body for her leg length and was rather flat in topline. Sound mover.

PGB (7,1)

1 Bigland Heythrop Tangle 19 months whose size and proportions I liked with correct loin and tailset. Feminine in head but I preferred head shape of winner who was cleaner in front action.

3 Williamson Plunkett Pocahontas.

LB (7,0)

1 Young Chance of Discovery of Chadbrook 18 months of top size but I liked her shape and movements with excellent head shape and proportions without cheekiness. Maximum one but she is little. Good coat and felt and is easily spanned.

2 Roberts & Murray Mindlen Muskett a touch finer throughout than the winner. A taller bitch who was deeper in the chest and not quite as strong in pasterns and feet. Has quality in head. In excellent coat.

3 Steele Digaden Get Up and Go.

OB (8,0)

1 Dayman & Cole Pacolito Phinal Edition stood out for me here and made a very good picture of type and balance. Her profile stride is ground covering and also accurate. Typical all through, firm head to tailset. Excellent coat. BCC her third. A good match with Dog CC.

2 Smith & Moon Ch Alncroft I Spy 7 years old another top-class bitch for type and quality throughout. The winner scored in length of stride. Res BCC.

3 Hall Frithgarth Sky Lantern.

VB (4,0)

1 Shelton Boultmoor True Delight 7-year-old who stood away here. Well proportioned with correct topline and tailset. A good head shape. Very good mover. In excellent form and looked the part in the challenge.

2 Fielding Matsstars Lady’s Mantle at Starfield 7-year-old who carries a lot of ticking in her undercoat but her topcoat is hard and she scored in leg length and proportions to take this place.

3 Kannangara Sherosco Christmas Rose.
