AIREDALE JUDGE WELSH KC 11

Airedale Terriers

I apologise for the delay in judging. I was actually at the other end of the hall watching another breed & the announcement did not reach us. Just a few general observations. I found only one or two with black eye rims & round eyes which give the Airedale such a foreign expression. Movement is still a problem with several moving close behind. Ear placement & carriage generally good although some exhibits were deterred by echoing in the hall. All had good bites, just a couple with dirty teeth. Presentation was excellent proving just how much time & dedication is spent at the grooming table.

MPD (2)

1 Toulson's Toulsyork Delfy Dexter, 9 months, good head, mouth, eye & ear carriage, sharp expression, moderate neck, well laid shoulders, short back, tail on top, good bone, nice outline, moved reasonably well;

2 Acton's Jantaradon He's The Wizard, just 8 months, good head & expression, well placed shoulder, good texture coat. Slightly longer in loin than 1, needs more ring practice.

PD (2)

1 Lee's Stargus Raidon, 11 months, well grown dog, pleasing outline, good head, sharp expression, reachy neck, short back, tail on top, good angulation, strong quarters, moved well, excellent condition & presentation, enjoying himself. BP;

2 Noyce's Super Ted, 11 months, decent head, dark eye, moderate neck, longer cast. Not doing his handler any favours.

JD (1)

1 Turner's Crillee Carry On Commander with Jokyl, just gone 12 months, smartly turned out young man with keen expression from good head, eye & ear carriage, straight front, good layback of shoulder. Little long in loin. Good tailset & turn of stifle, sound mover.

PGD (2)

1 Brown's Oceanaire Beachcomber, sturdy well built male with good bone, good head, well placed shoulders, firm level back, tail on top, good muscletone, moved OK;

2 Noyce's Black Prince, decent head, good expression. Little short in neck. Level back, good quarters, moved OK.

LD (4)

1 Callon's Sonorra Jackson at Russtam, excellent outline, good head, eye, mouth & ear carriage all giving sharp expression, lovely reach of neck, not overdone, short level back, tail on top, straight front with good layback of shoulder echoed by his rear angulation, well muscled up with powerful quarters, moved with purpose, didn't put a foot wrong, happy & outgoing in temperament, first class coat & condition. CC, his third, & BOB;

2 Morris' Nedella A Kind Of Magic, smart, well presented dog, keen expression, good eye, used his ears to advantage, straight front, good neckline. Topline a little slack on the move;

3 Hacker & Jenkins' Sherrifs Midnight Rambler.

OD (1)

1 Jackson & Swash's Ch Jokyl Captain Scarlet, mature powerfully built male having an excellent expression, godo reach of neck, level back, good tailset, straight front, well laid shoulders & rear angulation, strong bone & firm muscletone, excellent presentation as I would expect from this kennel, sound mover. RCC.

MPB (2)

1 Acton's Jantaradon Superfly Sister, 8 months, very good head & expression, well laid shoulders, moderate neck, level back, good bend of stifle. At this age looking a little loose on the move but has ample time to tighten up;

2 Noyce's Jokyl Roulette, 9 months, slightly heavier in build. Shorter in foreface, level back, good tailset. Movement a little erratic.

JB (5)

1 Jackson & Swash's Jokyl Red Ribbons, keen expression, correct bite, eye & ear carriage, straight front, good layback of shoulder, nice length of neck into firm level back, good bend of stifle, moved well;

2 Morris' Nedella Ninotcha, nice size, good expression, used her ears to advantage, godo tailset & bend of stifle, nice jacket & presentation, moving a little close behind, scored over 3 on showmanship, who I was thinking was a little overawed by the noise.

PGB (6)

1 Keay's Jaymitch Misty Over Malvern, very sound bitch, correct size, good eye, ear carriage & expression, straight front, good shoulder placement, nice neckline, firm level back, good tailset & turn of stifle, good bone & muscletone, moved well, happy temperament;

2 Brand's Branded Miss Scarlet, nice bitch, good expression, short back, tail on top, good rear, well placed shoulders, very well presented & handled, moved well;

3 Ablard's Russtam Star Attraction.

LB (4)

1 Millar's Lakeaire Lily The Pink, pretty bitch showing a pleasing outline, alert expression, good eye & ear carriage, good layback of shoulder, straight front, level back, good tailset, nicely angulated, sound mover, well presented;

2 Lee's Stargus Street Angel, sharp intelligent expression, reachy neck, short back, tail on top, straight front, well laid shoulders, moved & presented well. Bigger than I like for a bitch but all in proportions;

3 Edwards' Smockalley Top Totty.

OB (6)

1 Jackson & Swash's Jokyl Time To Party, up to size, super head & expression, straight front, good shoulder placement, strong hindquarters with godo bone & substance, moved soundly, delightful disposition. CC;

2 Felstead's Ch Minnisoda Calendar Girl, & she is, just that, I have always admired her shape & size & wasn't disappointed on going over her, has everything in the right place, lovely conformation with no exaggeration, as sound as a bell. Paid the price on animation. RCC;

3 Toulson's Toulsyork Chapter Three.
