AIREDALE RICHMOND 16 Judge: Mr G Corish (Sealaw) BEST OF BREED : 1929 JACKSON, Mrs O K & SWASH Mrs M Ch Jokyl Simply Red AIREDALE JUDGE RICHMOND 16 Airedale Terriers My first time awarding CCs in Airedales & really enjoyed my day. Airedales are a breed I am really interested in, really from the days I handled Mrs Marshall’s Sanbrook Salvo, in the late 1960s I think, under Arthur Lodge at some club shows. I thank my two great stewards & the exhibitors for the lovely entry & atmosphere. There is a great camaraderie with Airedale folks, long may it continue. VD (0). PD (2) 1 Lee’s Stargus Santa Rocks, upstanding dog, all male but lots of quality, loved his head & expression, super front, very sound, short coupled & made the very best of himself. BPD & BP; 2 Toulson’s Toulsyork Mettle Mason, same age as 1, 8 months, again all male, but giving his handler a hard time, good reach of neck, excellent topline, well ribbed, just needs to settle on the move. JD (2) 1 Jackson & Swash’s Jokyl Wish List, really lovely dog, gorgeous head & expression, clean in backskull, so sound & holds himself on the move, good reach of neck, excellent topline & tailset, very collected on the move, must have a rosy future; 2 Toulson’s Toulsyork Levity Lester, 10 months old & very full of himself, masculine in head, neat ears, strong in foreface, good reach of neck with a good topline & tail all the time. PGD (1) 1 Oates’ Stabuks Mr Bojangles, good overall balance, good neck & shoulders, excellent topline, well ribbed, excellent coat & presentation, very masculine head & expression, would just like a little more length to his head. LD (4,1a) 1 Hill’s Crillee Catch Of The Day with Gillaire, upstanding male & the best overall balance in the class, he was also very sound & where he scored in this class, super to go over, good neck & shoulder, straight front, excellent presentation. RCC; 2 Collins’ Colldale Son Of Adventurer, superbly presented & I liked his head the best, again nice to go over, he moves really well in profile but I would just like him to be a bit shorter coupled for better balance; 3 Morris’ Nedella Black Opal. OD (4,1) 1 Callon & Callon-Winn’s Ch Sonorra Christmas Cracker from Russtam, gave this boy the group at WKC & still like him a lot, super long clean head & correct giving true Airedale expression, very good overall balance & really scores in movement up & down & in profile. CC; 2 Atkinson’s Jokyl Party Popper, another great headed dog & tough between these two, not quite as outgoing as 1 & where I split them, liked his balance, in great coat; 3 Jackson & Swash’s Jokyl Truly Noble. VB (0). PB (5,1) 1 Edington-Hall’s Wendaire Kissed By An Angel, well made with superb head & expression, good overall balance, excellent coat & presentation, she moves so well in both ways. To be critical I feel I would like her to be a bit more feminine; 2 Collins’ Colldale One In A Million, I really like this puppy of 8½ months at her first show & just needs a bit more time. Loved her shape, super head & expression, will watch how she progresses as I feel she is going to be very nice; 3 Keay’s Jaymitch Zeeoneandonly. JB (3) 1 Johnstone’s Jecadie Gosh That’s Spicy, upstanding bitch, short coupled & moves well, good neck & shoulders, excellent front, superbly presented, good hindquarters, well handled; 2 Averis & Takasugi’s Saredon Moon River, gorgeous headed bitch & if I was judging on this would have won, first show & showing well, good reach of neck, excellent front, excellent topline, would just like her a bit shorter coupled & this is where I split 1 & 2. Beautifully presented as you would expect from this handler; 3 Osmalek’s Klartos Party Time. PGB (4,1) 1 Turner’s Jokyl Star Struck, nice bitch who I liked for her overall balance & head, good reach of neck, excellent front, short coupled & with super hindquarters, superbly presented as always from this kennel; 2 Eastall’s Brisline’s Born In The USA for Daedal, very showy bitch & again a super outline, not quite the head & expression of 1 & this is where I decided. Presented in super coat & condition & again moved out so well. I’m sure these two will change often; 3 Haly’s Vivawick Tittletattle LB (5) 1 Fernandez & Purnell’s Jokyl Gold Star, quality bitch with the most lovely head & expression, just the balance I was looking for, very sound, good neck & shoulder, short coupled, in super body & coat condition & beautifully handled, close up in the challenge; 2 Morris’ Nedella Cleopatra, close up to 1 & a bitch I really liked for her type & balance, not quite as settled in front as 1 but it was close. Good neck & shoulder, excellent topline & tailset, well presented as always from this owner; 3 Collins’ Colldale Adventuress Girl. OB (5,1) This was a very nice class. 1 Jackson & Swash’s Ch Jokyl Simply Red, such a nice bitch, not overdone anywhere, super outline which she holds on the move so well put together, lovely head & eye & uses her ears all the time, so true moving both ways, excellent coat & presentation as always. CC & BOB; 2 Lee’s Ch Basidale Blythe Spirit of Stargus, I really liked this bitch & so full of quality, lovely type, again good in head & expression, neat ears, good front, would like to carry a bit more weight to be picky. RCC; 3 Turner’s Crillee Cool Scarlet. GEOFF CORISH
