AIREDALE PAIGNTON 09 Judge: Mr B Collins AIREDALE JUDGE PAIGNTON 09 Airedale Terriers Considering most of the exhibitors are relatively new to the breed presentation was good. I based my findings on what I considered to be the best conformation & balance as well as type. On what I saw here in most cases heads had a good ratio of skull to foreface but in some width of heads were too full. We must not lose the brick shape head of the Airedale. PGD 1 Harding & Allmond’s Magwyr Jack In A Box, good solid dog, good length of head. A little short in skull length compared to foreface. Eye OK, tailset OK, good overall balance, nicely presented. More precise trimming of front leg furnishings would enhance this dog. OD 1 Lee’s Hazenaide Harbour Light, good length of head. Eye could be slightly smaller, ears were not used to advantage. Liked his front, good lay of shoulder, well proportioned neck into strong muscular body, good tailset. Rear angulation could be better. Nicely presented. BOB; 2 Peel’s Saredon Sniper of Esanar, 7 years, full of terrier spirit, used his ears well although head could be finer. Would prefer a better lay of shoulder, lacked rear angulation, finer trimming would enhance this dog. PGB 1 Watt & Warden’s Sherif’s Ruby Tuesday, good skull to foreface ratio. Eye could be smaller. Good ear carriage & used well, good front. Front leg furnishings need attention & spoil the picture. Compact bitch, good set on although slopes a little towards the tail. Rear angulation OK. BB; 2 Lee’s Shadlian Tickled Pink, longer cast than 1. Preferred head on this bitch but dark rims around eyes while technically not a fault spoil her expression. Good front angulation but not so on rear. Set on OK, very well presented. BRIAN COLLINS (Judge)
