North of England Airedale Club Championship Show

North of England Airedale Club held a ch show where BIS was Ch Katrina’s Land Spicy Cherry at Saredon; RBIS, Catch Me If You Can at Jodean; & BP, Jokyl Simply Red.

I would like to thank all exhibitors for attending my first appointment & I hope you had a good day as I did.

I will not mention mouths in my report as all exhibits were good & there is no point writing the same thing.

1 Catch Me If You Can at Jodean, this dog caught my eye from the grooming table on entering, & he did not disappoint, I will look forward to watching him from the ringside for the rest of his career. Nice upstanding dog with a nice length of head, correct ear placement & small eyes giving a pleasing expression, good length of neck leading into level topline, well muscled flat shoulders leading to good depth of brisket, well sprung ribs & short coupled, tail on top of muscled rearquarter & good angulation giving powerful drive from the rear. A real pleasure to put my hand on. CC & RBIS;

2 Oaksteaire The Maestro at Greyaire, good ear placement, dark eye, strong head, good layback of shoulder, good depth of brisket leading to level topline, tail on top, rear is will muscled with adequate angulation. A little sloppy on the move, walking up & down the side of a wall a few times might help keep the dog straight.

1 Smockalley The Joker, stood above the rest in the class. Would like better head but presentation won the class. Good small eyes with good placement of ears & used them well, good length of neck with a nice slope into laid back shoulders, good depth of brisket, well rounded ribcage, correct tail placement, rear movement was straight on the move;

2 Crillee Cool Raider, good head with plenty of foreface, good ear placement, dark eye, level topline with correct tail placement, nice rear & good on the move with drive from the rear;

3 Nedella Sparks In The Park at Arngask.

LD

1 Toulsyork Fisty Filbert, a smaller type than most dogs in the breed but still has good qualities. Stands on straight front, head has a stern expression when viewed from the front, good length of neck leading into topline with correct tail placement, short coupled & good angulation, moved OK;

2 Nedella Gambling Man, heavier set dog than 1 which is not a bad thing. Nice profile, good length of head, ears OK, good length of neck leading to well laid back shoulders, moved OK on front & rear.

1 Ch Jokyl Star Turn, good sized upstanding male, no mistaking him for a bitch. Nice long lean head, small dark eyes, long neck leading to well laid shoulders, good jacket as expected from Jokyl, good spring of rib, well muscled rear, moved well from the rear;

2 Ch Crillee Carry On Commando, still a nice dog as he was when I judged him as a youngster but he was up against a better dog who moved better. Good eye & ear placement on a strong head, good length of head leading to nice shoulders, standing square, good depth of brisket carrying a level topline with tail on top, good hindquarters standing on correct sized hocks, moved OK;

3 Glentops Hugh Bett.

1 Ch Jokyl Captain Scarlet, still kept in good condition for his age. Good length of head with small dark eye & correct ear placement giving a very pleasing expression, good length of neck leading to well laid shoulders, good shoulders leading to straight front, well sprung ribs, short coupled, level topline & tail on top, good rear angulation, moved OK for his age. RCC.

1 Beacytan Black Pearl, it has been a while since this breeder has been in the show ring but she comes back with style. Nice young bitch but does not want to get any bigger, good length of head, small dark eye, correct ear placement that she used to her advantage, good shoulders, level topline & ample rear. Moved OK for a puppy, just needs time to mature. Put down very well;

2 Lakeaire Mandy Mauve, good head, eye & ears, good topline, tail on top, well trimmed. Moved a little sloppy on rear, needs to tighten;

3 Jaymitch Jaunty Panachon.

1 Jokyl Simply Red, nice puppy with a promising career ahead of her. Good length of head with dark eye, used ears when needed, nice length of neck with good shoulder placement, standing straight & on her toes as she should, good depth of brisket, jacket in good condition, level topline with good rear, movement good front & rear;

2 Crillee Cool Scarlet, there wasn’t much to choose between these two, she was only second because her front needs to tighten up when on the move. Good length of head with dark eye, used ears when needed, nice length of neck with good shoulder placement. Standing a little wider than 1. Good depth of brisket, jacket in good condition, level topline with good rear movement, also good on the rear;

3 Nedella All Spice.

1 Saredon First Alexandria, correct size bitch, good head. & eyes & ear placement, straight front when standing, good length of neck, good topline, tailset & rear angulation, standing on low hocks, good rear movement;

2 Doraemi Kismet, nice cobby bitch. Only lost to 1 because I preferred her head. Good length of head with dark eye, used ears when needed, nice length of neck with good shoulder placement, good depth of brisket, jacket in good condition, level topline with good rear, movement good on the rear;

3 Starbuks Immy.

NB

1 Doraemi Kiki Dee, nice flat skull, dark eyes, small well place ears, good shoulder placement on straight front, level topline, short coupled, tail on top, well muscled hindquarters, well angulated, moved well front & rear;

2 Matrasen Scarlet Lace with Evaire, very difficult to go over this bitch because handler messes around too much! Baiting the dog so she won’t stand, & bending over her talking in a silly voice. The dog was overweight, which is not good for its hips as it gets older.

1 Muliebrity Oceana, would look better with a little more coat to finish the final picture. Small eye, correct ear placement, good length of neck, leading to well laidback shoulders, short coupled bitch, level topline, tail on top, good rear angulation, standing on small hocks, moved well front & rear;

2 Nedella Ninotchka, good length of head, small dark eye, correct ear placement used to her advantage, good shoulders, level topline & ample rear, movement was OK;

3 Jokyl Starlet.

1 Crillee Carry On Baby, another dog from this kennel, I will be keeping a close eye on. Their dogs have come on well over the last few years, keep it up. Nice feminine cobby bitch with good length of head with dark eye, correct ear placement & a nice size, nice length of neck with laidback shoulders, good depth of brisket, jacket in good condition, level topline, short coupled with tail on top, well muscled hindquarters, well angulated & moved well front & rear with drive. RCC;

2 Russtam Star Princess, heavier set bitch than 1 & didn’t move as well. Good ear placement, dark eye, strong head, good layback of shoulder, good depth of brisket leading to level topline, tail on top, rear is well muscled with adequate angulation. A little sloppy on the move as I said I have seen better from her;

3 Wendaire Jokers Angles Kiss.

1 Ch Katrina’s Land Spicy Cherry at Saredon, well, what can I say about this bitch that has not already been said. I liked this bitch when I first saw her as a puppy at the Saredon kennels then I had the privilege in handling her in one show as a puppy before being put away while her sister was shown. Good length of head with good planes, dark small eyes with correct sized & positioned ears, good length of neck leading to well laid shoulders, good front with small tight feet, good depth of chest, level topline with good tailset, nice rear with good muscle & correct angulation standing on small straight hocks, moved well front & rear. CC & BIS;

2 Oldiron One In A Million, Ann has moved over here from down under with some of her dogs for 6 months so it is nice to see her in the show ring. Larger than 1 but good head with small dark eyes, good ear carriage, long neck leading to well laid back shoulder, good depth of chest, tail on top with good rear, moved OK;

3 Jacadie Dipped In Spice.
