The  North of England Airedale Terrier Club held its Centenary Championship Show on 23rd October 2022
BIS & DCC -  Callon & Callon-Wynn Ch. Jax The Gentleman
RBIS, BOS, & BCC – Lee Ch Stargus Sea of Gold
BPIS & BPB - Turners Crillee Carry On Party Baby
RBPIS & BPD – Turners Crillee Carry On The Legend
RDCC – Brown Jokyl Daily Special
RBCC – Toulson Ch Toulsyork Llinsaire Opal
BVIS –Ablard & Kantijevska – Katherina’s Land Vip Lover

I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge such a prestigious event;  I was impressed by the efforts made to make the show special. My thanks also to my very efficient stewards who made sure everything ran smoothly for me. A quick word to congratulate all those present for making it to the show in the horrendous weather conditions.
In general the quality of the exhibits were varied, eye shape really must be something that is considered when breeding, too many now have the round dark rimmed eyes which is not a typical or wanted eye shape. Little concerned to see only 2 puppies at the show, hope it isn’t a sign of things to come but it was good to see so many new people showing their dogs and I hope the oldies are encouraging them to stay in the breed
After the JWP was formed I decided to give up judging after I judged Crufts 2020 but couldn’t resist taking this appointment. I can’t keep pace with the machinations at the Kennel Club and I feel that breed specialist judges are not as important to them as their fast track Jack of all Trade judges are, sadly this trend is showing in the quality of the dogs being exhibited and often winning.

Peter Stackhouse Memorial Special Beginners Dog or Bitch (1 )

Minor Puppy Dog. (1)

1.  Turners Crillee Carry On The Legend. Promising 6 month old, lovely outline, nice head, good mouth, Coat and furnishing coming through, good colour, neat feet. Bit of a handful as he should be at this age. Pushed hard in the puppy challenge.
