AIREDALE JUDGE LEEDS 14

Airedale Terriers

It was a pleasure to be asked to judge this native breed in its near hometown, giving myself a welcomed opportunity to also visit my roots, both originating from the Aire valley.

JD (1) A.

PGD (1)

1 Collins’ Colldale The Gladiator, overall a very pleasing head with a keen eye, good clean mouth with strong jaw. Good earset giving the desirable expression. Good tailset, quality coat with nice all round proportions. Little close behind on movement. RBD.

OD (3,2a)

1 Byrne’s Catch Me If You Can at Jodean, a lovely dog with a fabulous quality head. Keen expression completing the look. Good jaw structure & great earset. Wonderful straight front with well laid back shoulders going into a nice level topline. Short back, Good tailset, nice bend of stifle giving good rear movement. BD, BOB.

VD (0).

JB (7,3)

1 Miller’s Lakeaire Mandy Mauve, a nice head with a good mouth, Correct earset. Nice straight front with a good neckline however can carry her head a little low at times causing her to lose the desirable topline. Good tailset, excellent bend of stifle & good movement. Lovely furnishings & quality coat. BB;

2 Touslon’s Lytchdale Miss Indignant for Toulsyork, a very nice young bitch with excellent potential. Nice head, keen expression, lovely mouth. Great bone structure, Good range of movement front & rear, good tailset. Good quality coat. Ears a little fly away, but I am sure these will improve with age. BP;

3 Morris’ Nedella Flame Opal.

PGB (3)

1 Collins’ Beacytan Best Seller of Colldale, a nice compact bitch overall with good proportions. A lovely head with good mouth, pleasing ears. Shoulders well laid back, Good level topline. Nice bend of stifle, pleasing front but a little close on rear movement. Quality harsh coat, Well bodied bitch. RBB;

2 Purchon’s Nedella All Spice at Ellwoodkings, a nice headed bitch, expression slightly spoilt by dark pigment around the eye. Good straight front, well bodied bitch. Good proportions, Lovely harsh Jacket. Moves well;

3 Brennan’s Nedella Olympic Medallist from Buddon Wood. OB (2) A. VB (0).
