Airedale Terrier

I would like to thank the committee of the East of England for the invitation to judge Airedales, my first appointment in England, thanks also go to my two stewards for the day who kept things running smoothly. I was very disappointed to find many poor temperaments and a great number of dogs with bad movement. Two basic points for the welfare of this great breed, which I would think always, have to be considered when planning a breeding strategy.

Withheld. Unfortunately this young dog looked to be of a good type but I was unable to handle him despite trying a few times. Definitely not the temperament required by the Standard and I hoped it was a one off `incident from him, I had no option but to withhold the prize.

1 Lees Stargus Devils Joker. Upstanding stylish young dog with good temperament, Good head & ears, nice neck and shoulders with good front, legs and feet, good body for age with level topline, good tailset and well made hindquarters, moved well. He was presented in excellent coat & condition & was well handled. A young dog who I think should have a bright future & I was pleased to award him the Res. CC.

2 Hampton & Hall's Muliebrity Grandioso Another dog with a lot to like about him, he had a good make & shape, just preferred the head & movement of the winner.

3 Nedella A Kind of Magic.

1 Eastall & Daveys Daedal Hi Mister Webster SHCM Dog with masculine head & nice ear carriage , nice neck, he was well boned with good legs and feet, nice body with tailset OK, would have preferred a more positive movement, he was presented in very good coat & condition.

2 Moules's Doraemi Jazzamataz A dog of good make & shape, would prefer a darker eye and unfortunately to-day was shown completely out of coat.

1 Hacker & Jenkins- Sherifs Midnight Rambler Honest type dog with masculine head, good ears & correct bite, nice neck & shoulders, good bone, legs & feet, good body & topline, well made hindquarters, moved OK, shown in good coat & condition.

2 Turners- Crillee Cool As Jack Masculine head with a little houndy ears, nice neck, good bone, legs & feet, good body, would prefer stronger hindquarters & more positive movement.

3 Hughes & Pearce - Knowlelion A Sunny Smile at Alkinra.

1 Averis & Barkers -Am. Ch. Longvue Jackpot of Saredon Top quality dog who caught my eye when he entered the ring, Excellent size & type, long clean head with good ear carriage, excellent neck & shoulders, good front, legs & feet, good body & topline, correct tailset, well made hindquarters. He was the best mover of the day & was in good coat & trim. I was very pleased to award him, what I understand is his first CC & BOB. Delight to see him pulled out in the final six, in a strong Terrier Group. 

2 Collins – Collcurr Courageous. Stylish dog of good type, long head with well placed ears, good neck, front, legs & feet, would have liked a little more body, good topline & tailset, nicely made hindquarters, moved OK, well presented & handled.

3 Ventress Junaken Vaidrian.

1 Keays- Jaymitch Misty Over Malvern. Feminine bitch of good type, feminine head with well placed ears, nice neck & shoulders, good front, legs & feet, good body & topline, tailset OK, moved well, in good coat. Best Puppy. JB (5)Jackson & SwashsB4- Jokyl Time To Party. Bitch who is up to size but really a lot to like about her. Long clean head with good ears placement, good neck & shoulders, good bone, legs & feet, correct body & topline, good tailset & well made hindquarters. Moved steadily & was shown in good coat & condition.

2. Lees's Stargus Street Angel. Another good quality bitch of better size, with really a lot to like about her but could have put a lot more into her showing to-day, also in good coat & condition.

3 Hampton & Halls Muliebrity True Spirit.

1 Halys-Vivavick's The Royal We. Feminine bitch who won VHC in the Junior bitch class.

2 Windles – Holly Berry Dream. Bitch with a good head & ears but unfortunately appeared to be nervous & was not in full co-operation with her handler.

1 Toulsons -Toulsyork Chapter Three. Bitch of good quality, size & type. Good head & ears, nice neck & shoulders, compact body with good topline, tailset OK, moved well, won this class on her soundness.

2 Eastall & Daveys- Daedal Hi Point. Bitch of good make & shape, could have put more effort into her showing & moving. 3 Hacker & Jenkins Sherifs Winter Jasmine.

LB(9,2)

1 Oates- Stabuks Primrose. Lovely head & ears, good neck, shoulders & front, good legs & feet, good body, tailset OK, moved steadily, in good coat.

2 McCallums Glentops Impudence. Cobby bitch without exaggerations, would like a little better head, nice ears, nice neck & shoulders, compact body, tailset OK, nice hindquarters, moved OK, good coat.

3 Morris Kenocto Amaryllis at Nedella.

1. Jackson & Swashs- Ch. Jokyl Star Flash. Quality bitch of excellent size & type, long clean head with well placed ears, excellent neck & shoulders, good front, legs & feet, good body & topline, correct tailset & well made hindquarters, moved well, in tip-top trim & condition. Pleased to award her the CC. Thought that she & the dog made an excellent pair in the challenge. 

2 Lees- Stargus Black Lace. Bitch who is up to size but of excellent type, good head & ears long neck, good front, legs & feet, good body & topline, good tailset & well made hindquarters, moved well, she was also in excellent coat & condition. Pleased to award her the Res.CC.

 3. McCallums- Ladsacres You're A Witch.
