AIREDALE JUDGE DRIFFIELD 23

I would like to thank all who attended the show. First of “all”, I would like to say that the overall movement of the dogs attending was poor, from crossing over of the rear, too loose hocks, and throwing out fronts from the shoulders. Thankfully there was enough quality in the main winners, that others should look to as to improve their stock. The breeds’ movement is one of the King of Terriers greatest assets as with all other Terriers. Heads are also a problem. The Airedales’ head is supposed to be a brick shape of equal length not wide or tapered to the nose, the plains should be flat and clean not wide and heavy. Also people are still running their dogs when an Airedale is meant to be walked at a brisk pace especially on uneven ground. If the handler is struggling to move in a straight line then the dog cannot move straight. A well trained dog will move in balance with the handler wether slow or quick but still showing the power and drive from its movement. Weight also needs a close kept eye on it, especially in the Bitches, They are meant to be Feminine not Doggy.

PD

1 Knights & Stokes & Steinke, Temtiz Buzz Lightyear at Lelaps. BP Winner. Good Mouth with correct bite. Small Dark eye, Good Length of neck leading into shoulders. Level top line. Good depth of Brisket. In good coat. A bit heavy and some training would help (would make a good Pet).

JD

1 Toulson, Toulsyork Taylor Made. Nice overall well matured dog for age. Good mouth the with correct bite. Small dark eye and correct ears which used well. Good length of neck and layback of Shoulders. Good depth of Brisket, Level top line and correct tail set. In good coat. Good angulation and standing on small hocks. movement needs to tighten but has time on his side.

2 Fearnhead, Settlebeck Royal Flush. Good mouth with correct bite. Small dark eye and correct placement. Good length of head Tail on top, In good coat, Front movement was ok. Would like more angulation on rear.

3 Turner & Turner, Crillee Carry On The Legend.

OD

1 Callon & Callon Winn, Ch Russtam Jax the Gentleman. CC & BOB Winner. Wow!! What can I say that has not already been said. This dog owned the ring from the second he entered and was my CC and BOB winner and short listed in the group. A good masculine dog with good bone and substance, Correct bite, good ears with correct lift and used well, Small dark eyes, good length of neck. In perfect coat which you always get from the Breeder/Handler, Sound in shoulders and front, good depth of Brisket, Good rear angulations and tail set, moved true Front and back, good coat and furnishings, great muscle tone helping with drive and purpose on the move.

2 Brown & Brown, Ch Jokyl Daily Special JW RCC Winner. A Little nervous when going over him but the skilled handler soon had him back in check. A good quality dog that on another day could have had the CC but didn’t move to his best on the rear. Good mouth and correct bite. Nice clean head and small dark eyes. Used ears when asked of him. Good length of neck leading to well laid shoulder. Straight front standing in small tight feet. Good depth of brisket. In good Jacket and tail on top. Good angulation and standing on small hocks.

3 Toulson, Ch Toulsyork Sequel.

PB

1 Steinke, Temtiz Miss Prim & Proper. Typical young puppy does what it wants not what the owner wants. Good mouth and teeth placement. Small dark eye. Head of equal length. Ears are small all though a little erratic. Nice shoulder placement. Straight front standing on small feet. Good rear angulation.

JB

1 Turner & Turner, Crillee Carry On Party Baby. Good mouth with correct bite. Small dark eye with nice long head, better trimming would have helped the overall expression. Correct ear placement and used well. Nice layback of shoulder, Straight front when stood. In Good coat, Level topline with tail on top.

2 Fearnhead, Settlebeck. Queen Of Hearts. Looked a little bored in the ring. Better head length on 1. Good mouth and bite Small eye, would not use her ears. Good shoulder placement and in good coat. Tail on top.

PGB

1 Toulson, Toulsyork Tiger Lilly. Clean mouth with correct bite. Small dark eye with small ears on a balanced head. Good shoulders and straight front. Level top line and in good coat.
