Well we all expected cold winds and rain, but the weather was kind to us, but perhaps a little too kind later, but the dogs managed well. My thanks not only to my two stewards, Adrian and Pete, for stopping with me for the whole day, the secretary and committee of Driffield for their hospitality and hard work in difficult times, but also to you the exhibitor for the privilege of judging your dogs. Lovely to see our Best Of Breed short listed in a strong group.

Good class of youngsters.

1 Toulson’s Toulsyork Llinsaire Opal. Loved this pretty extrovert girl when she entered the ring, lovely dark eye with good ear placement adding to sparkling expression, she likes the ring and it shows, good length of head, well proportioned to balance, clean neck into well laid shoulder and rib, short coupled mature body into rear quarters, she moved without effort both ways lovely outline with style and balance. Nice one in the making this lovely 6 mth baby, length to head with little difference between skull and foreface, good bite, liked her overall body shape and outline, ribs well sprung with substance and bone structure compatible for age, as can be expected just a little hesitant to begin on the move, but with gentle encouragement from handler moved well and didn’t let handler down.

Nice class but ladies a little reluctant to show their wares.

1 Underwood’s Jokyl Rising Star. Aptly named, good front assembly with strong front legs, well padded, liked her bone structure, strong legs and shoulder placement, good head, dark eye, balanced skull to foreface with strength while maintaining her sex, lovely ears and good mover when she decided to show, but handler persisted and she co-operated.

Liked this ladies overall size and outline, nicely boned body structure with substance to match without being coarse, well ribbed into good spring of rib, pleasing headshape nice length not too much between ears with balanced foreface, correct bite, steady mover both ways, just needs to use her ears more as lovely expression when she did.
