AIREDALE JUDGE DRIFFIELD 11

Airedale Terriers

Overall temperament was good. The dogs coped well with the unseasonable temperatures & no shade but by the time the bitches were in it was very hot. General construction was good particularly layback of shoulders. Movement in too many cases left a lot to be desired, several being close behind & worse still a worrying number showed a huge gap in front moving towards you. Several had very dirty teeth.

MPD (1)A.

PD (3)

1 Toulson’s Toulsyork Delfy Dexter, very impressive, confident & masculine youngster, well proportioned head, excellent in shoulder & very strong hindquarters, good angulation, level topline with tail on top, well developed body for age, moved with drive. Promising. BP;

2 Ventress’ Dendaric Woodcarver at Junaken, impressive, masculine youngster. Lacking confidence. Exceptional long lean head, good construction throughout, very well laid back shoulder. Needs to develop in body, not quite the tailset of 1. Moved OK.

JD (3)

1 Lee’s Stargus Raiden, just out of puppy but a real eye catcher. Just shouts quality, substance & solidity, such a square profile which he holds on the move. Good ear placement & carriage, well proportioned head but could be longer. Dark eye, long neck flowing nicely into short level back, deep well ribbed chest, tail on top with just enough behind, confident & happy, kept on showing right through to the end. CC & BOB;

2 Turner, Jackson & Swash’s Crillee Carry On Commando with Jokyl, looks very much the youngster. One that will take time to mature. Good head, correct ear placement, adequate neck but longer in back than 1. Moved correctly front & rear when settled.

YD (1)A

. PGD (1)

1 Moore’s Jokyl Time After Time, a dog of substance, head OK, neck adequate, well laid back shoulder, very deep chest carried through to loin. Slightly longer in coupling. Strong hindquarters, especially good parallel movement, good coat, well prepared.

LD (2)

1 Gregg’s Bambusa Nagarrick, good all rounder with no exaggeration, reasonable head, correct earset & carried well, small dark eye giving hard expression, nice flow of neck into level topline, tail on top with just enough behind, moved well;

2 Gomersal’s Matresen Smokey Joe, foreface long enough but skull could be leaner. Good strong neck, longer in body than 1. Strong hindquarters, good tailset, good coat & colour, well prepared, moved with drive.

OD (4)

1 Turner’s Crillee Cool As Jack, a dog with many top quality attributes but he can make life difficult for his handler. Correct ear placement & carriage, good head, adequate length of neck, well laid back shoulder, deep body through to loin, harsh jacket, tail on top, angulation OK. By far the best movement of the dogs. RCC;

2 Hampton & Hall’s Muliebrity Grandioso, a real stallion of a dog, a great showman. Good long head but skull could be finer. Dark eye. Front assembly a little heavy. Very deep brisket, dead level topline, good tailset with plenty behind, moved OK;

3 Morris’ Nedella A Kind Of Magic. GCD (0).

MPB (3)

1 Toulson’s Toulsyork Effulgent, cobby, well developed puppy. Slightly heavy in head. Correct front, superb body development for age, level topline, good tailset with plenty behind, moved OK;

2 Moore’s Toulsyork Elegant Emphasis, preferred head to 1 but slightly longer in body & not the bend of stifle. Very mature for age, moved well;

3 Ball & Bramham’s Toulsyork Double Delight at Saundaire.

PGB (2)

1 Windle’s Miracle Moment via Jaffindle, cobby, well developed puppy, good head, long strong neck, well constructed throughout, superb hindquarters & tailset well on top with maximum amount behind. Difficult to assess movement as she pulled away from handler, could do well if she settled down;

2 Fury’s Saredon Lorelli, rangier type, very attractive expression. Ears a little high set. Dead level topline. More hair at brisket would improve appearance of body. Moved & showed well, in perfect tune with handler.

JB (2)

1 Gray’s Russtam Summer Wine at Grayaire, head OK, strong neck flows nicely into well laid back shoulder & dead level topline, hindquarters OK. Finer trimming of front & neck would improve the picture. Moved with drive;

2 Pavier’s Mychance First Edition, strong head but ears a little low. Better front than 1, deep chest, level back, good tailset. Slightly longer cast than 1. Strong hindquarters, very good bend of stifle, moved with drive.

YB (3)

1 Johnstone’s Saredon Solar Eclipse with Jecadie, this bitch is a joy to go over, sound, balanced, well constructed throughout, everything fits perfectly together & flows to give a lovely profile. Outstanding head with parallel planes, moved & showed well. Could do even more. CC;

2 Jackson & Swash’s Jokyl Red Velvet, attractive feminine bitch, long head. Ears erratic. Long neck, good spring of rib, level topline, tail on top, moved OK. Needs to gain confidence;

3 Clarke’s Muliebrity Crowning Glory.

PGB (6)

1 Byrne, Vickers, Pearce & Hughes’ Knowlelion A Dolly Daydream for Alkinra, very attractive, so impressive to go over, sound & balanced, long lean head, small dark eye, super expression, well constructed throughout. Good coat & colour, put down to the minute, typical movement. RCC;

2 Ablard’s Russtam Star Atraction, bigger type, long lean head, very long strong neck, shoulder OK, level topline. Slightly longer cast than 1. Tail on top, good bend of stifle, moved & showed well;

3 Morris’ Nedella Victoriana.

LB (5)

1 Miller’s Lakeaire Lily The Pink, compact showy bitch, head OK & finer trimming would improve. Small dark eye, good expression, well constructed throughout, all the essentials are there, moved OK, happy go lucky temperament, kept on showing right through;

2 Keay’s Jaymitch Misty Over Malvern, refined bitch, neat & tidy, fine head of adequate length, small dark eye, well put together throughout, short coupled, good coat & colour, well prepared, accurate precise movement. One of the best movers today, just wish she put more in, got fed up towards the end;

3 Edwards’ Smockalley Top Totty.

OB (6)

1 Jackson & Swash’s Jokyl Time To Party, elegant bitch of substance, superb head & expression, well developed body right through to loin, short coupled, level topline, good tailset, adequate in hindquarters, moved OK;

2 Hampton & Hall’s Muliebrity True Spirit, eye catching, powerful, good bone. Longer in body than 1. Dead level topline, tail on top, adequate bend of stifle, moved with drive;

3 Brown’s Dendaric Vigli.

GCB (1)

1 Edington Hall’s Jetstream Russian Jewel via Wendaire; 2 S Lorelli.
