I very much enjoyed my day and thank everyone for bringing their dogs. Overall movement was not as good as I had hoped for and some were not in tip top condition or showing well, hence some of my placings and on another day could change. Shoulders need to be watched. Mouths on the whole were fine, one or two were border level.

1st 5416 MRS O K & MRS M JACKSON & SWASH - CH JOKYL CAPTAIN SCARLET. 7yrs. An excellent ambassador of the breed and still in good condition, just showing his age a little. The best of heads and expressions, balanced with nice eye and ear carriage. His reach of neck is good and flows into nice shoulder and topline with good rear angulation. Carries his tail well and shows with great animation.
2nd 5388 MRS P S DAY - PRINCE OF ATRYAL. 7yrs. Good coat but would like a darker tan. Flying his ears which detracts from his expression. Head OK with good eye. Good scissor bite. Moderate length of neck into a good shoulder and nice front angulation. Topline drops towards tail which could be better set. Rear angulation good. Steady mover.

1st 5454 MR R I & MRS J B TURNER - CRILLEE CATCH BY SURPRISE. Excellent coat and colour. Good head, but could be a touch longer, of course he has time on his side. Good eye and ear carriage giving a good expression. Moderate length of neck into shoulder, which could be a bit more laid back. Topline good. Rear angulation is good and movement is steady. All needs to come together - a promising puppy.
2nd 5426 MR P & MRS J & MISS R MARKWICK - CRILLEE CATCHER IN THE RYE. Litter brother to 1. Good coat and finer trimming would improve overall look. Good length of head and expression when uses his ears. Good eye. Moderate length of neck and again, would like a bit better lay of shoulder. Longer cast than one and tail could be better set on. Rear angulation OK and needs to steady in movement but still early days.

Excellent expression from a very good eye and ear carriage. Nice reach of neck into shoulder which could be more laid back. His outline is very good with good tailset and rear angulation. Needs to steady in movement. A very nice dog.
2nd 5378 MR R BROOKS - CLYDEBROOK SPICED RUM. Excellent coat and colour. Good length of head with good expression from nice eye and ear carriage. Moderate length of neck into a nice shoulder which could have more layback. Bit straight in upper arm. Good outline and topline with good tail carriage and rear angulation. Movement needs to steady.
3rd 5386 MR B P COLLINS - COLLDALE THE HERO. Good coat and colour. Good length of head. Seemed not to be enjoying himself which reflected in expression and movement. Small dark eye. Good reach of neck into OK shoulder. Topline needs to improve. Good rear angulation.

1st 5458 MR W E & MR E H VAN DER VEGT - COOPER OF THE OCKENHOME JW '13 [ATC AR00064NLD]. Excellent coat and colour and in good trim. Overall outline is good with correct rear angulation. He has a good topline and excellent tail set. Good length of head with good expression from his dark eye and positive ear carriage. Moderate length of neck into good shoulder. Excellent showman. When standing could be a tad wide in front but does not roll his front on moving.
2nd 5438 MR S & MRS E NIKULIN & NIKULINA - RUS KORNELS SIMVOL POBEDY [ATC AP01459RUS]. This exhibitor did not stay for the critique. From memory. Well presented. Nice sized dog with nice length of head and reach of neck into good topline. Stands slightly over angulated in rear. Moved steady and showed well for handler. Would prefer a more true terrier front which is not so heavy.
3rd 5402 MR M & MR D HACKER & JENKINS - SHERIFS RED BERET. Upstanding dog with good outline and showmanship. Head of good length which balances his body. Excellent tailset with good rear angulation. Needs to settle down and move better.

1st 5382 MS J & MR M BYRNE & VICKERS - CATCH ME IF YOU CAN AT JODEAN. Presenting a good picture in profile. Excellent coat and colour. He has a balanced head but would like it a bit longer. Showing well with good eye and ear carriage. Good reach of neck into shoulder which could be more laid back. His topline is level with good tailset and good rear angulation. Needs to steady in movement and his front trimming didn’t do him any favours. For a male I would like more of him.

Would have liked a more level topline. Rear angulation good. Excellent showman but needs to steady in movement.
3rd 5398 MR C M & MRS W A GRAY - OAKSTEAIRE THE MAESTRO AT GRAYAIRE. Lovely black and tan coat in good trim. Good length of head with good eye. Not using one ear which spoiled expression. Good reach of neck into nice shoulder. Lay of upper arm could be better. More rear angulation would improve outline and moved close behind. Overall a nice dog.

Excellent topline and tail set. Rear angulation is good. Moved well in front and especially in profile where he covered the ground with good reach. To be critical would like more substance. DCC.

2nd 5461 MRS M & MR J WENDELBERGER-JAMES & JAMES - SAFFRONSTARS STARGAZER SHCM. Another boy enjoying his day. Understand he has achieved all his medal targets – well done! Good coat which would be even better with tighter trimming. Good head with good expression. Nice outline moved steady.
3rd 5460 MISS E WEBBER - SHERIFS RED HOT. Cobby dog who has a lovely black and tan jacket. Good head, with nice eye and reach of neck into shoulder. Covered the ground well on the green carpet. At one with his handler.

Very good head with dark eye and good ear carriage, giving a good expression. Good reach of neck flowing into shoulder. Other than looking a bit rangey she has a good overall outline with level topline and good tail set. More rear angulation would also finish the picture. Steady mover. Time is on her side. BP

Plenty behind the tail and move steady and well.

1st 5375 MRS J & MR T AVERIS & BARKER - CH KATERINA'S LAND SPICY CHERRY OF SAREDON. A lot has been said and written about this b. I found her lovely to go over, steady but animated at the same time. She has great quality from her head to her tail. Not perfect but the others have to come out and beat her. Excellent coat and colour which is beautifully presented. Her head is of good length, clean, feminine and balanced. Her expression is there all the time from working with her handler. Even when her handler changed midway she did not miss a beat. Her reach of neck is good and flows into a nice lay of shoulder and level topline with the best of set ons. Her front is clean and not loaded. Plenty behind the tail with good rear angulation. More positive movement in the rear with a little more reach in front would finish the picture. BCC & BOB and shortlisted in Group.
2nd 5396 H G M BERTHIE - HR CH VALERIA OF THE AIRE VICTORY [ATC AQ01803NLD]. Liked this b. very much. She has a lovely black and tan jacket in good trim. Feminine with a pretty head and good ear carriage. Good reach of neck into shoulder. Lovely front and not heavy. Level topline and excellent tail set with enough behind the tail. Would like a little better rear angulation. Showed well, but her handler did not really get her settled in the class, which improved in the challenge for RCC. RBCC
