AIREDALE JUDGE CRUFTS 11

BEST OF BREED CH/AM CH LONGVUE JACKPOT OF SAREDON Dog Owner: MRS J AVERIS

Airedale Terriers

Firstly may I say thank you to the committee of Crufts 2011 for inviting me to judge my breed at this prestigious show. My overall impression of the breed is that the breed is in a healthy state, I found no health problems when assessing the dogs & the overall temperament of the dogs was in good order.

VD (5,2a)

1 Stuart’s Garland Foreign Affair, 10 years, in good condition for age, long head, good front, moved & shown well;

2 Martin’s Saredon Fire Warrior at Tobadale, 9 years, shade longer than 1. Little short of coat. Enjoyed himself on the day;

3 Peel’s Saredon Sniper at Esaner, 8 years. Heavier all through than 1 & 2. Coarse in jacket & carrying a little too much weight.

SPD (3)

1 Hargreave’s Toffeeblue Moyes, good head, keen dark eye, correct earset with a clean moderate muscular neck falling into well placed shoulders, nice front & well sprung to rib, tailset on top, moved out well for a puppy. BPD;

2 Baker’s Islandaire Yer Maun, finer dog all through. A little shy, but in good order. Nice moving away, but needs to tighten up in front. Otherwise a nice puppy;

3 Simpson & Storey’s Jonvia’s Maximillian, not quite the quality of 1 & 2. A little heavier. A puppy what is also going to need time.

J (1)

1 T Moyes.

PGD (11,1)

1 Eastall & Davey’s Deadal Hi Mister Webster, lovely head, dark eye, moderate length of neck & well placed shoulders, short backed & level topline held on the move, strong hindquarters with good angulation;

2 Moore’s Jokyl Time After Time, similar to my class winner, good head, eye, neck & shoulders, good topline & rear. Preferred the movement on my class winner;

3 Brown’s Oceanaire Beechcomber, nice type of dog, good head, eye, & shoulders, moved & shown well.

LD (7)

1 Callon & Callon-Winn’s Sonorra Jackson at Russtam, a dog I have always admired, good clean head, dark eye & correct earset, muscular neck with good lay of shoulder, short backed & strong firm topline, well muscled & moved with drive;

2 Morris’ Nedella A Kind Of Magic, slightly longer in cast, but a good type of dog. Long flat skull, well placed ears & keen dark eye, moderate length of neck with good shoulders, good spring to rib, nice angulation, well presented & shown well, a close decision;

3 Hacker & Jenkin’s Sherrif’s Midnight Rambler, fair head & well placed ears, decent neck & good shoulders, short backed & well placed tailset, good rear angulation & moved well.

OD (7)

1 Averis’ Ch /Am Ch Longvue Jackpot of Saredon, classical example of the breed, head of good proportions, correct ear carriage, keen eye, muscular in neck flowing into well placed shoulders, level topline held together on the move & correct tailset, well sprung ribs & firm loin, good front & very powerful rear, moved with drive & purpose, presented superbly by a master. CC & BOB, delighted to watch him take G2 in the hands of his breeder;

2 Jackson & Swash’s Jokyl Captain Scarlet, good example of the breed & a worthy ch, good head, ears & eye, moderate length of neck, nice shoulders, good front & rear, well sprung ribs & nice loin, good angulation & moves very well. RCC;

3 Averis & Hjelm’s Est/Se/No/Rus/Lv Ch Saredon American Gangster, well proportioned head, good earset, muscular neck, well laid shoulders, level topline, good front & rear, moved with drive.

GCD (2,1)

1 Wendelberger-James & James’ Saffron Star’s Stargazer, nice dog, level topline, good tailset, moved well, nice to see these classes for these exhibitors.

VB (3,1)

1 Swallow’s Wendaire Lixicon Of Love, 8 years, nice sort of bitch, enjoying her outing, in good condition, won this class on movement;

2 Johnstone’s Jecadie Very Spicy, 9 years, nice veteran in good condition, harsh jacket, good front & rear. Preferred movement of 1.

SPB (11,3)

1 Jackson & Swash’s Jokyl Red Ribbons, super puppy, long lean head, moderate neck flowing into well placed shoulders, short backed & a level topline, correct tailset, good angulation & moved well. BP;

2 Averis’ Saredon My Gal, on entering the ring I thought this was going to be my class winner, super head, keen eye, nice length to neck & well placed shoulders, good front, nice jacket, good rear. Just needs a little more time;

JB (5)

1 Nikulin’s Rus Cornels Luchshaya Vsegda, stylish bitch in tip-top condition, good lean head, dark eye giving keen expression, ears correct & used well, moderate muscular neck, well placed shoulders, level topline & correct tailset, good spring to rib & firm loin, moves with purpose;
