AIREDALE JUDGE BATH 25

I appreciated the modern day turnout of 24 actual exhibits, with just 4 absent, for my 1st time awarding CCs. Not sure if people still talk of fast tracking but I confess to a mere 14yrs from obtaining my JDP Credit to today! I also confess to this being the Mark II edition of my critique, the original having got lost in the ether, so forgive me as I will aim to limit it. Thanks are due to our experienced stewards who kept on our case and on my paperwork!

PGD (2,1)

1 Shadlisa On A High Together at Daedal (Eastall); 18m; v typy; lots to like; good in eye; strong foreface; clean neck; deep & level; gd backend; excellent topcoat texture; sound & parallel; at that tricky teenage stage but is looking the part overall as he simply awaits maturity.

LD (3,1)

1 Toulsyork Utterly Bonded (Toulson); rising 20m & a stylish youngster with “attitude “; excellent skull, ear & muzzle with barely a stop; fairly square with gd substance & bone; deep & level; firm backend; excellent jacket; free moving with a balanced gait; took & held my eye to such a degree as to invest in his future with the Reserve Dog CC

2 Lumosadie The Fire Bird (Blackburn); rising 3yrs & Ch Jokyl sired; a little longer & taller in his proportions but, make no mistake, he is v well made & well ribbed-up with a clean neck & level backline with depth; excellent tailset, coat & feet; just quite couldn’t defeat the winner’s “attitude”.

OD (3)

1 Ch Jokyl Daily Special JW (Brown); just turned 4yrs & I now know is 100% Jokyl Ch bred that explains the look & the style; handsome headed without a hint of coarseness; so short & well coupled; deep; level; angulated; spot on tailset; hard, immaculate, jacket; so balanced & active on the move using a powerful backend beyond the tail; maintained his form throughout the challenges. Dog CC & BOB

2 Muliebrity Blue Beret at Sherifs (Hacker & Jenkins); 3.5yrs; many gd breed points; clean in head & neck; expressive eye & ear; well bodied & angulated; deep; level; just not as short & came on a tad loose; tough to having to take on the “in form” male.

3 Ch Crillee Carry On The Legend (Turner)

Special Beginners (2)

1 Muliebrity Purple Princess Avec Tonerrier (Hall); 2yrs b of utmost breed type; she made an immediate impression; clean & expressive head; best of fronts; well angulated; deep; fairly cobby; excellent jacket; in truth would hope she has a real prospect of becoming ineligible for this class & wish her well

2 Touessroks Little Jewel (Sabin); 20m d & relatively immature; v well angulated; excellent jacket; proportionately short in foreface; gd parallel & purposeful rear action; needs time & maturity to settle in front.

JB (2,1)

1 Airedor Diamond Princess (Stanciu); 15m; expressive eye at the one end & highset tail at the other; well boned & well angulated; coat needs attention; just lacking in leg length, that affects body proportions, & was sickle hocked; v much a raw youngster sure to benefit from the maturing process over the next 12m.

PGB (4)

1 : Jokyl Songbird (Rust); 20m nicely clean in both head & neck: gd angles fore & aft; deep & level; well muscled rear; excellent jacket; still to settle down in front but plenty of time & added maturity should address; will be readily moving up the class rankings this show season

2 Vivavick Ad Libitum (Haly); 6.5yrs who was that wee bit less keen to co-operate but her owner-handler can relax knowing that she is showing a b of excellent breed type who is short & level with a wiry jacket; clean in head & neck; can firm a tad in rear; best of fronts; all credit for maintaining her in such fit & muscled condition as she approaches her senior years.

3 Aire Alpha Heaven’s Harmony De Airedor (Imp Rom) (Stanciu)

LB (5)

An excellent quintet to make ME work

1 Airechien Savanna (Richardson); just turned 2yrs; such quality in all aspects & proportions; such type & style; clean & expressive in head; great structure; well angulated; excellent tailset & carriage; so easy on the eye with low front gait coupled with rear drive off firm hock; kept my eye in the challenge to annex Reserve Bitch CC; hope will be proved to have been right

2 Jolliver Joy Ride to Stargus (Lee); also just turned 2yrs & a half-sister as both sired by Ch Muliebrity Wilderness; the same type & quality; totally feminine head & eye; balanced angles; deep & level; so well ribbed-up; well cushioned feet; soundly straight & parallel; such a great future ahead; just couldn’t quite match the stylish gait of her half-sibling that is not a fault but simply performance on the day; I don’t know this exh by sight but do commend one Lesley Lee’s article on judging the breed plus illustrated Airedale standard as published by

OD

in its excellent A to Z of breeds series in 2020; just saying.

3 Lumosadie Scarlet Phoenix (Blackburn)

OB (4,1)

1 Ch Crillee Carry On Party Baby (Turner); 3yrs with that “wow” factor & produced from a friendly meeting between a Jokyl Ch and a Crillee Ch; fabulous head with the best of eye, ear & muzzle; so deep & shapely; great conformation; so well coupled & angulated; immaculate wiry jacket; daisy cutting front action with power from behind on excellent feet; look forward to seeing what she in turn may produce; Bitch CC

2 Ch Jokyl Power Lady (Rust); also 3yrs & classy in her own right that figures, being half-sister to the ultimate BOB; just a tad longer & less flat in skull but am nitpicking so as to separate at this top level; best of fronts; deep & level; excellent jacket; what an asset to any kennel with the prospect of her breeding on.

3 Russtam Dolly Mixture at Borderbridge (Singh)
