West of England Scottish Terrier Club Open Show

West of England Scottish Terrier Club Open Show - 22 April 2012

My thanks to the committee for their invitation and all the hard work that goes into running a club Open Show. Difficult to form an accurate picture of a breed from a small number I was pleased at the overall quality and presentation of the exhibits. However my concerns were raised in respect of the breed requirements of activity and agility, some exhibits were carrying too much weight and there were several whose teeth were far from clean. The Veteran Bitch Class was an absolute joy, and an example to all in presentation and conditioning.

Class 1 Special Triers Dog

1. Hill’s Bonnieanne Norman of Tahgmor, 6 year old black dog with clean skull, good mouth. Big ribs, coat texture could have been better. Moved soundly enough but without enthusiasm.

Class 6 Graduate Dog

1. Rees Rabbonai Gilead at Miacarla, black dog with strong head. Well sprung ribs, good coat texture, moved with drive and showed well. Res Best Dog.

2. Cole’s Rabbonai Playmaker, lovely headed black dog. Sound construction. Lacking energy, on the move his absence of enthusiasm resulted in poor tail carriage.

Class 7 Limit Dog

1. Chick’s Brueik Magical Connection, neat headed black dog
of sound construction.Moved and showed well.

2. Hill’s Polwicks Tourmaline of Tahgmor, heavier built black dog with good head. Elbows could be a little tighter. Good harsh coat.

3. Rees’ Rabbonai Black Diamond at Miacarla quality heavyweight with lovely long head, soundly made, good coat, moved and showed well. Mouth disappointed.

Class 8 Open Dog

1. Mahmoudi’s Brio Quizzical, black quality dog with long lean head, good sweep of neck, well sprung ribs and powerful quarters. Well presented. Moved with drive and showed well. BIS

2. Hill’s Bonnieanne Norman of Tahgmor.

Class 15 Graduate Bitch

1. Corney’s Rilynson Moonlight Isle, quality feminine bitch,
good overall balance, sound construction in good hard condition.

2. Rees’ Rabbonai Blackberry ay Miacarla, long headed bitch
sound construction, good harsh coat well presented but her excess weight caused spoilt her topline.

Class 16 Limit Bitch

1. Cole’s Rabbonnai Naughty but Nice, 2 year old bitch, neat head lacking in furnishing and ribs due to immaturity but well made and showed with enthusiasm moving soundly.

2. Corney’s Rilynson Sunshine Princess, brindle bitch of good quality throughout.Topline rising up to tail. Refused to settle in hind movement.

Class 17 Open Bitch

1. Corney’s Rilynson Island Princess, quality brindle bitch with
clean head, keen expression, good topline. Good coat
texture. Moved with enthusiasm and drive.

Class 18 Veteran Bitch
