NORWICH WINDSOR 15 Judge: Mrs E Needham BEST OF BREED : 615 CRAWLEY, Mrs L & STEVENSON Mrs J Wychcover Moonlighting NORWICH JUDGE WINDSOR 15 Norwich Terriers In such a small entry I was dismayed to find more than one exhibit moving untypically wide in front, hopefully breeders will keep a watchful eye on this. With regard to the two concerns on Breed Watch, I did not find any problems. PD (1,1a). JD (2) 1 Crawley’s Ragus Hand In Glove, attractive b/t, 9 months, in very good coat, well-made generally, & well-angulated both fore & aft, pleasing head proportions, well balanced with enough bone, moving very well, very promising for the future. BP; 2 Hayes’ Ragus Fabulous Clown, 13 months red, unlucky to meet 1 in such good form, another with a well-proportioned head, good width between ears, strong muzzle, lovely length of neck into good shoulders, level topline, quarters developing well, just needs a bit more body condition which would probably help with overall balance, he is now paying more attention to what he is supposed to be in the ring for & his movement is the better for it. PGD (1) 1 Harpham & Hulance’s Caractacus Potts, 2 years red, presented in very good coat, body construction good, pleasing head proportions, balanced in outline, showed & moved quite well. LD (3,1) 1 Graves’ Ragus Morning Herald, nice head proportions, good eye & ears, well matched angulation at both ends, moving accordingly, good substance without being fat, perhaps a touch long in body but his other qualities won his place. RCC; 2 Stevenson’s Brickin Early Morning, quite attractive head, good eye, not so strong as winner in rear action on the move, coat just past its best. OD (3) 1 Crawley & Stevenson’s Wychcover Moonlighting, not much at all separating the 3 dogs in this class, all having merit & quality. Well balanced all through, in good coat, pleasing head, alert & attentive all the time, good angulation matched at both ends, moved well & economically, liked him very much. CC & BOB; 2 Baldwin’s Ragus Fair And Square, quite liked this one but would have preferred slightly better length of neck, & a touch more angulation in shoulder, showy little dog, but not moving as well as winner in front; 3 Harpham & Hulance’s Ch Ragus Kiss In The Dark. GC (1) 1 R Fabulous Clown. PB (5) 1 Tate’s Jaeva Maid Of Honour, quite difficult to separate first 2 here. 1 was much more ring savvy, beautifully groomed b/t jacket which shone, well-constructed & balanced overall, attractive well-proportioned head, moving well on nice feet, good topline & tail carriage, very promising; 2 Crawley’s Ragus Broadway Baby, also liked this one very much but she was so interested in what was going on around her she lost concentration, well made all through & beautifully balanced, I am sure she will do well when properly settled, very promising; 3 Crawley & Baldwin’s Now You’re Talking. JB (0). PGB (0). LB (4,1) 1 Hitchen’s Kreatin Hidden Extra, one I have admired from the ringside, & was by no means disappointed to see her at close quarters, lovely young red bitch in very good jacket, beautifully presented, well-constructed all through, attractive head with typical feminine expression, alert & attentive, moved well with excellent typical outline. CC; 2 Corkhill’s Redash The Merry Widow, lovely coated red bitch, at the leggy stage at present, well-constructed generally, attentive & alert, showed well. RCC; 3 Baldwin’s Ragus My Fair Lady. OB (2,1) 1 Crawley’s Wicked Witch at Ragus, a lot to like about this bitch, beautifully coated, attractive head & typical feminine expression, close up in the challenge for RCC. EILEEN NEEDHAM |
