NORWICH JUDGE WINDSOR 12

NORWICH TERRIER

May I first Thank Windsor committee for the kind invitation to judge my first CC's in Norwich terriers for which I felt very honoured. Thanks go to my 2 stewards who kept my ring running so smoothly, and to the exhibitors for the good entry and quality they gave me. I did feel on the whole that the quality of the Norwich has improved since I last Judged them, with several really nice Dog's and Bitch's.

PD (4)

1 Stevenson' Ragus Now and Forever, very nicely balanced puppy, just the right size, full of type, with pleasing head dark eye and good expression, well laid back shoulders onto firm level topline, and correct tail, nice new jacket coming through, moved out well, expect him to have a bright future BPD, BP.

2 Crawley's Ragus Sheltrice all that Jazz. Pleasing Head with good width to ears and nice dark eye, giving correct overall expression, level top line and firm quarters, moved well.

3 Harham &Hulance's Ragus Kiss in the Dark.

JD (1)

1 Hitchen's Ragus Devil In The Detail, really Liked this one for his type, size, and overall shape, super head with dark eye and well placed ears, good neck and shoulders, short back and level topline, coat just holding, a shame the handler could not get that extra out of him, as he is certainly my idea of a Norwich, but I do know it is often easier said than done with them. RDCC.

LD (2)

1 Corkhill's Redash Going for Gold, well balanced dog good head and dark eye, nice neck and shoulders and level topline, sound for and aft, Coat not at his best today.

2 Norrey'S Fleur Snap Dragon, smaller type, dark red, in good fresh coat, pleasing overall shape, nice head but would prefer smaller ears, moved ok but a little wide in front.

OD (1)

1 Crawley's & Oddie Ragus Merry Gentleman, although a little more of him than I usually like, this Dog had so much to offer, and cannot be denied his qualities, well balanced throughout, pleasing head, dark eye, well placed ears, strong neck and shoulders, good length and barrel of rib, level top line, so sound in rear, well handled ,well presented and such a showman. DCC and BOB, and pleased to see him go on to gain Group 3 well done.

GC D or B.

1 Nutkins Tebrun Favour, I placed this dog on merit in the class, he was handled very well by his young owner\ handler and he showed himself very well, but what a shame the breeder (not the owner) has lost complete type of the Norwich Terrier.

PB (8,1)

1 Stevenson Bricken I'm In the Pink, a true wheaten, headed a nice class of puppies, super baby, so well made, sweet head with very dark eye giving a lovely expression, nice lay of shoulder, good rib, level topline and sound on the move when she settled.

2 Hitchen's Ragus Mayfair, another really nice one, full of type, sweet head with dark eye, well set ears and good mouth, has so much to like, I do hope this little lady will put more into showing herself in the future which could only be bright for her if she does.

3 Corkhilll Redash Bitter Orange.

JB

1 Thompson-Morgan's Belleville Coconut Effect, very much my type of Norwich, has everything to like about her, very nice size, good head, dark eye, ample width between ears giving a super expression, I forgave her coat not being at its very best as she had everything else I loved, moved well with good extension BCC.

2 Phillips Ragus Madley in Love, another very nice Bitch, good type, lovely coat, nice head with dark eye giving true expression, good rib and level topline, moved well.

3 Haye's Batkwins Amber Diamond.

PGB

1 Hayes Batkwins Amber Diamond.

LB

1 Watkins Batkwins b\ t with nice head, good dark eye, level top line and nice tail set, coat just holding, would benefit from a new shorter jacket, moved a little sluggish in the heat of the day.

2 Stevensons Ragus Coming up Next at Bricken , b\ t, very nice size and type, but just wouldn't pull it together for her owner, which made it hard to assess her movement.

3 Martins Kirmir Little Mischief.

OB

1 Smith & Hurrion's Ragus Takes the Biscuit, liked this one, up to size for me, but so sound, good comformatio, nice head, dark eye, level top line, super tail, what really impressed me was her excellent front extension, coat at its very best, pushed my cc winner very hard. RCC.

2 Hitchen Ragus Hidden Amber, liked her size and type, femine head with dark eye, and good ear placement, good rib and sound quarters, unfortunately did not put anything into showing herself and movment was rather sluggish
