NORWICH JUDGE THREE COUNTIES 23

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at this prestigious Championship show and thank you to the exhibitors for their entries. I enjoyed my judging very much and was well looked after on the day. Although not a large entry I was pleased with the overall quality of the exhibits that attended.

PD (1

1st. Mrs L Crawley’s Ragus Punch Bowl.

A 7 month old wheaten, well boned and masculine throughout, broad skull and good width between his ears, strong muzzle, dark eyes and the correct bite and dentition, correct coat texture. Short and compact, ribs well sprung and a level topline, he moved soundly being true coming and going, needs time but I am sure he will mature into another quality specimen from this renowned kennel, RBD.

OD (1)

1st. Mrs L Crawley’s Mr Holmes Investigates Ragus.

A 13 month old red and maturing nicely, typical, and compact outline, broad skull, erect ears, dark pigment, strong muzzle, and the correct dentition. Strong neck, well laid shoulders with good return of upper arm, deep ribcage, and ribs carried well back, level topline. Coat of the correct texture and well presented, he moved soundly being true coming on and going away. BOB and pleased to see him make the initial cut on the group.

PB (5)3

1st. Mrs D Batey’s Contilly Smoke and Burn.

At almost 12 months old, she is a very attractive B/T, substantial but feminine throughout, head of the correct proportions, erect ears, dark eyes and the correct bite and dentition, neck of the correct length, nicely angulated front and rear quarters, correct coat texture, compact with a level topline, on the move she was sound and true and moved with a lively gait. I feel she has a very promising future, Best Bitch and Best Puppy.

2nd. Mrs C S Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville So Smitten.

An 11 month old Red, balanced and in proportion with a compact outline, head of the correct proportions, broad skull and a strong muzzle, correct bite, and dentition. Strong neck, deep chest and well sprung ribs, level topline and she moved well, I would prefer a better tail carriage.

3rd. Mr A & Mrs J Furby’s Ragus Monkey Business At Pepperwood.

JB (1)

1st. Mrs J R Stevenson’s Brickin Mint Edition.

A 10 month old red, typical overall shape, balanced and in proportion, broad skull, well carried ears, strong muzzle, and the correct bite. Nicely angulated front and rear quarters, deep chest, and a level topline. Her movement was sound but a little erratic. RBB.

OB (1)

1st. Mrs DH & Miss RA Innett & Harrison’s Ragus Blowing Kisses To Carradine.

A 21 month old Red bitch, typical breed outline, balanced and in proportion, head of the correct proportions, dark eyes and the correct bite and dentition. I would have preferred more layback of shoulder and more depth of brisket. She has good coat texture and was well presented.
