NORWICH THREE COUNTIES 09 Judge/s:Mr T Nagrecha
Norwich Terriers PD (5,2a) 1 Oddie’s Amicaro Brilliant Cut, set a precedence for the rest of the entry, this all male dog puppy has a head to die for, just loved his exceptional type, strong wedge shaped muzzle, strong underjaw, excellent width to skull, correct eye & ear placement, so strong boned & cobby in outlook, straighter angles & even though restricted, still gave a good enough account of himself on the move. Topline needs to settle. Fell for his many breed specific virtues, that glorious head, strength, substance & the harshest of coats. RBD; 2 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Crème Brulee, scopier dog than 1, head is very good, but one is almost spoilt by 1’s exceptional head. However, I loved the lines on this dog, superb balance & quarters, driving so well from behind, holds his shape well standing & moving, excellent going away & on the round, better tail than 1; 3 Higgitt’s Redash Clock This. JD (2) 1 Southwell’s Berty Way of Delosinga, very cobby dog who is strong & substantial, correct for leg length & size, more typical in outlook than 2. Could be more masculine in head & needs to strengthen in head. Eye is a touch full, which cost him in the challenge; 2 Lawson’s Softpaws Red Robin, leggy dog, lacks coat & furnishings. Well made quarters used really well. Not the front of 1. PGD (1) 1 S Red Robin. OD (2,1) 1 Crawley & Crosby’s Am Ch Dunbar’s Kensington Square, really fine specimen of the breed, totally balanced in outlook, throws an excellent outline both standing & moving, very good head, good stop, adequate skull, excellent eye & earset, excellent to go over, correct angles, this reflects in his accurate movement, well coated & trimmed. Perhaps could benefit with a fraction more weight. BOB. PB (8,1) Two super bitches headed this class. 1 Crawley & Fraser’s Ragus Right Little Madam, gassy youngsters who never stopped showing, so well boned & bodied, very good to go over, well made rear, she used herself, getting better & better the more I moved her, strong in topline, very good tailset, her head is nice, perhaps marginally short in muzzle. Excellent to handle on the table. BB & BP; 2 Griffins’ Brenim Summer Gold with Burlmere, super headed bitch, excellent eye giving the desired expression, loved her body & outline, so good to go over. Liked her type a lot, but not the extension or footfall of 1, which put her in a very respectable 2nd position in a good class; 3 Chamber’s Rouletta Thyme For Diamonds. JB (2,1) 1 Crawley’s Ragus Forever Amber, excellent to go over, so correctly made & her structure & conformation are ideal, good neck & front assembly, totally balanced, correct on the move. Just lacked the strength of type in head & substance on the puppy bitch & got beaten to RBB. PGB (5,1) 1 Crawley’s Ragus Very True, strong bodied bitch, very good tail, good to go over, quite liked her head, correct muzzle to skull ratios, balanced, but slightly straighter angles. Even though moves correctly, lacks the forward reach & drive of the two eventually winners. All together she is an excellent Norwich, with so many breed virtues, should make up easily; 2 Lazenby’s Ragus Diamonds Only, stylish bitch, excellent rearend, well bodied & muscled. Could not match the front. Very well handled; 3 Corkhill’s Redash Tikka Dansak. OB (3,2) 1 Corkhill’s Redash Time Goes By, strongly made bitch, plenty big enough, excellent front to go over, but hasn’t the rear angles to match. Excellent tail carriage, so well bodied & muscled.
