NORWICH SKC MAY 19 Judge(s): MRS E P HOLLINGS DCC JAEVA PAY THE PIPER (MRS K TATE) It’s a long way for many to Scotland, but the good ones tend to travel, in most breeds and my stint today reflected that. PD (2) 1 Armstrong & Lawrance’s Ragus Sweet Bay At Elantiz. What a satisfying youngster to go over, very soundly constructed. Not surprising to read he bears the Affix synonymous with quality in this breed. Smart and alert, wedge shaped head with good use of ear and width to underjaw. Fronts, I have found keep improving with angulation allowing ease of front legs. Short firm back width behind. Super coat and presentation. 2 Page’s Contilly Ask No Questions Between Winflash. Brand new out at 6 months and in a noisy hall, a touch intimidating, however he coped admirably and shows lots of promise. He is sound and presented in good body for age and hard wiry wheaten coat. He was handled sympathetically. Tidy youngster. JD (1) 1 Crawley & Baldwin’s Ragus Time Of My Life. 13 month. His head is masculine, with broad balanced skull, clean through cheeks, definition of stop with strength in muzzle. His alert expression comes from dark well placed eye and use of erect ear. Positive forehand. Neck is developed and flows through short level back. Immaculate presentation of quality coat. Went with purpose. LD (3) 1 Tate’s Jaeva Pay The Piper. A fit hard power pack. This masculine chap is skeletally well made and never lets up. His straight hard B&T coat is in great order and fits close to body. He has such free ground cover coupled with spirit and total animation. I though the bitch may take the breed, but he just ups his game every time. CC & BOB. 2 Smith’s Javidel Walk In The Park. Have judged this masculine sound dog before and today he has fulfilled his early promise with maturity. The breed is on such good form, (well done, clever breeders), that choices are close. He has all breed essentials and should gain his title, a lovely typy dog in super condition and works the ring well. 3 Kell & Crawley’s Ragus All Guns Firing For Amicaro. OD (2) 1 Crawley & Oddie’s Ch Ragus The Jumping Jack. This junior dog has lots going for him. He is smart, full of personality and is attentive to his handlers needs, holding his correct outline. I am aware he has done lots of winning and rightly so. Super condition and first class presentation. Full of type and quality, I would not expect anything else from this clever breeder. Res CC. 2 Lazenby’s Tinkave Imthe Man. In a bigger frame and nicely made throughout. I notice he is by a dog I have greatly admired and feel he has put his stamp here. Grand body, width behind and goes well. Perhaps not the ears of the winner. PB (4) These 4 each have appeal. Time, experience and maturity will determine their future. 1 Tate’s Jaeva Pink Slippers. Adorable and see she is by my BOB, achieving his fabulous personality. So pretty with that spark in her dark well placed eye. Uses her erect ear well. Has lay of shoulder so strong neck flows through well. Good rib and covering. Short muscled loin and width of rump with tail on top. Went round with cheeky confidence. Lovely. BP. 2 Crawley’s Ragus True Love Ways. Much of same and similar in age. I am sick of repeating ‘good construction’, suffice to say, she fits the bill! A pleasure to judge quality, just felt the winner asked for it a touch more. 3 Hitchen’s Kreatin Added Extra. PGB (1) 1 Kell & Crawley’s Amicaro Light Up The Sky. Smart healthy wheaten. Lovely eye and ear placement to give a real terrier and appealing outlook. Tidy forequarters. Level short back. Developed body for age. Decent coat in preparation and texture. Moved with handler to advantage. LB (1) 1 Batey’s Ragus Burning Question. Honest bitch, nothing weak here. She has type and is balanced. Does her job with ease, and good foot placement - but just enough. Really well turned out. OB (2) Two gorgeous bitches. 1 Crawley’s Ragus Loving Spoonful. Yes, this will do! Fulfils the standard and my requirements. In excellent order and bang on form, this is a clever handler so unobtrusive and has her charges attention at all times, therefore the bitch never lost her outline. Immaculate presentation. I thought very highly of her. CC. 2 Hitchen’s Ch Kreatin Extra Treat. Again caught my attention on her super type and quality. Strong, feminine and working so well. Fabulous wheaten wiry, straight coat, presented in grand condition. Very close up, therefore could not be denied the res CC. VB (1) 1 Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Rambling Rosie ShCM. 8½ and neither looks or acts her age. Pleasing head, strong jaw, housing super white teeth. Presented in lovely coat. Handled very well. A worthy winner. BV. Judge Patsy Hollings |
