NORWICH SKC MAY 16 Judge: Mr A H Brace (Tragband) BEST OF BREED : 5262 THOMPSON-MORGAN Mrs C S Belleville Just For Effect NORWICH JUDGE SKC MAY 16 Norwich Terriers PD (1) 1 Armstrong & Lawrance’s Butterscotch Shnapps, 9 months red of ideal size & shape, excellent head & expression, enough bone, well ribbed, just needs to body up a little. In fabulous coat, beautifully presented, moves true in front, could be a little freer behind but goes around holding his outline well. A real little showman, constantly on his toes. BP & delighted to watch him take PG4 later under David Guy. JD (1) 1 Kell’s Ragus All Guns Firing for Amicaro, 10 months red, balanced head, typical expression, well ribbed, good angles front & back, firm topline, moves very well behind, needs to tighten a little in front. In good coat. LD (1) 1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Just For Effect, cobby red of excellent type, beautiful head & expression, big ribs, strongly boned, grand coat well presented. Holds his outline well, moves true going away but comes on a little wide. Very much all of a piece & full of quality. CC & BOB. OD (1) 1 Crawley & Oddie’s Ch Ragus Hand In Glove, young b/t of quality, really scores on the go around where he has great scope & carriage. Excellent head with masculine expression, good bone & so well balanced. Liked him in the group last year but today found him a little light in condition which emphasised his rather short ribcage, but still holds his topline well. Comes on true but could be steadier going away. In good coat well presented. RCC. PB (3) 1 Crawley & Oddie’s Ragus All The Rage, 10 months red full of type & quality & ideal size. Delightful head & expression, well built & balanced, enough bone, excellent neck, topline & set on. Well ribbed, in good coat. Goes away so true, just needs to tighten in front. Still won RCC on her overall merit; 2 Stevenson’s Brickin Miss Unruly, 9 months red & looks a real baby by comparison. Feminine head, most engaging expression, well bodied, good bone for her size. Needs to firm up in topline and tighten a little on the move. Excellent coat well presented; 3 Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Jabberjay. JB (2) 1 Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Mockingjay, 10 months red very much all of a piece & such a composed, sound & stylish mover. Feminine head but eye could be neater & foreface stronger yet she has an excellent bite. Good rib & bone, in excellent coat of great texture; 2 Flannery & Bennett’s Lady Lyra at Jacquill, 15 months red who refused to move which was a shame as she has a lot of type & quality. Excellent head type, balanced outline, sturdy body. Will do much better when she decides to enjoy the job in hand. LB (1) 1 Flannery & Bennett’s Amicaro Hi Kicks at Jacquill, mature b/t of good basic type, slightly low set ears & foreface could be stronger, nicely balanced outline, well ribbed with optimum angulation. Moves quite well. OB (2) 1 Tate’s Ch Jaeva Maid Of Honour, b/t of quality, very typical head & expression if eye could be a shade darker. Grand bone & ribs, nicely put together & all of a piece. Good coat texture but tan could be stronger. Moved steadily & with style; 2 Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Primrose Peta, red with not the head qualities of 1 & not in her best coat. Well balanced outline, moved well behind but rather wide in front. ANDREW H BRACE |
