NORWICH RICHMOND 16 Judge: David Winsley (Davmar) BEST OF BREED : 2163 CRAWLEY, Mrs L & BALDWIN Mrs Y Ragus Jump the Gun Norwich Terriers It was a great pleasure to judge this breed for the first time awarding CC's, though the entry was small in number there was quality throughout. VD (0). PD (0). JD (1) 1 Crawley & Baldwin's Ragus Jump The Gun, lovely type with a very pleasing head, well placed ears, nice dark eye, well defined stop & a well filled muzzle. He has what I call a 'frowny' expression. Good neck blending into well placed shoulders, good forechest, straight front with good bone & well made feet. Nicely balanced body, well sprung ribs, short backed. Strongly made hindquarters with a good turn of stifle & correct tailset. He has a quality coat that was presented in first class condition. Moved soundly both ways & showed all out. Pleased to award him the CC, (his third) & BOB, later went onto win G3 in a highly contested group. PGD (0). LD (1) 1 Stevenson's Bricklin Hot Off The Press, another quality dog of good breed type. He has a nice head with well placed ears, dark eye & correct mouth. Enough neck to give him balance, well angulated shoulders, good forechest & straight front. Well balanced in body and low to ground. Tailset correct, in nice coat & condition. Not moving with as much drive behind as I would like & need to show himself off more. Well deserving of the RCC. OD (0). VB (2) 1 Lazenby's Ch Ragus Diamonds Only, typy bitch 9 years of age. She has a pleasing head & expression with a well balanced outline. Good in neck & shoulders, pleasing front with a well made body. Nice turn of stifle, short hocks & correct tailset. In good coat & moved with a spring in her step; 2 Harrild's Let's Be 'Avin You In Crivnor, 10 years old of nice type, in pleasing condition. Typical head & expression, well made body, correct tailset. Still has plenty of attitude, moved well & in good coat. PB (2) 1 Smith's Ragus Way Too Smart, nice to see a wheaten, she is an attractive & nice type. Pleasing head & typical expression, well placed ears. Balanced length of neck, clean shoulders & straight front. Compact body, well sprung ribs with good depth. Well made hindquarters & correct tailset. Coat of good quality, moves out well & a confident show girl. Pleased to award her the RCC & BP; 2 Stevenson's Brickin Miss Unruly, pretty feminine girl of a nice size & shape. Pleasing head with nicely placed ears, dark eye & well filled muzzle. Good in neck & shoulders, nice front with some forechest. Cobby well made body, low to ground, strong hindquarters that she knows how to use. Quality coat & a confident sound mover. JB (0). PGB (1) 1 Martin's Tinkave Brown Eyed Girl at Kirmir, pretty & expressive head, lovely dark eye with a well defined stop & well placed ears. Good in forechest with a straight front, good body with a good spring of rib & short coupled. Well made hindquarters, tail set on well, moving well both ways. In a nice coat & showed well. LB (1) 1 Crawley & Oddie's Ragus All The Rage, same type as my dog CC winner, quite a handful wanting to have a fun time. Such a typical & expressive head, good neck, well angulated shoulders & straight front. Cobby well ribbed & balanced body, low to ground & a level topline. Another who is well made behind which shows in her sound movement, yes she was being a bit naughty but that’s just 'terrier spirit'. In first class coat & condition. Couldn't deny her the CC, well matched with the male CC winner. OB (0). DAVID WINSLEY |
