NORWICH NATIONAL TERRIER 14 Judge(s): BARRY DAY (RISEPARK) Norwich Terriers 1 Stevenson’s Bricking Early Morning, promising baby, good for type & with a lovely head & expression. Pleasing body & bone, good topline, nicely angulated rear & in a good jacket, he moved soundly; 2 Oddie’s Ragus Pistols At Dawn, a very sound moving baby of good type. Pleasing head with good width between his ears. Good for body & bone with pleasing angulation. Well presented & very well handled. Not much in it between these two but I just preferred the expression & coupling of 1; 3 Kell’s Amicaro Whiskey Chaser. PD (2,1) 1 Armstrong & Lawrence’s Elantiz Mr William, a handsome young chap. Up to size with a masculine head & good width between his ears, lovely bone & a good topline. Not quite settled on the move. JD (5,2) 1 Harpham & Hulance’s Caractacus Potts, good for size & type & with a pleasing head & expression. Good for body & pleasing in bone, he has lovely well muscled quarters, good angulation & nice tight feet. Presented in good coat, he moved well; 2 Crawley’s Ragus Fair N Square, an up to size b/t with a masculine head, good body & super bone. Lovely flow of neck into a good topline, pleasing angulation & good quarters. Well presented but a shade longer in loin & not quite the movement of 1; 3 E Mr William. PGD (0). LD (2) 1 Harpham & Hulance’s Ragus Kiss In The Dark, this b/t caught the eye when he entered the ring & did not disappoint on examination. Good for size & type, with a lovely head & expression, Super, well ribbed compact body with lovely well muscled quarters, good angulation & well let down hocks. Presented in a good jacket, he moved soundly & showed very well. CC & BOB; 2 Crawley & Oddie’s Ragus Cool For Cats, an impressive red dog with a lovely head & expression. Super bone but not quite as compact as 1. Good for topline, angulation & with nice tight feet. Presented in good coat, he moved very soundly. OD (5,2) 1 Crawley, Sweigart & Beale’s Am Ch Ascot Sanspur at Yarrow, a superbly balanced dog of good type. Lovely head & expression, good compact body with a lovely flow of neck into a good topline. Nicely angulated & in good coat, he moved soundly. Seriously considered for top honours but I just preferred the size of my CC winner. RCC; 2 Brown’s Ragus The Devil Can Wait for Lasterean, a quality dog of good type, masculine head with a good eye. Pleased in body, bone & angulation. In good coat, not quite as compact as 1 & moved OK; 3 Jones’ Ragus Made You Look. MPB 1 Crawley’s Wicked Witch at Ragus, good for size & type. Feminine head with a pleasing expression. Short backed body with nice body & bone, good angulation & neat hocks. In good coat, she moved well; 2 Corkhill’s Redash The Merry Widow, a sound moving bitch with the prettiest of heads & a super expression. She shares many of the attributes of 1 but is a shade longer & in quite as good a jacket; 3 Chambers’ Rouletta Lucky For Some. PB (4,2) 1 Stevenson’s Paper Chase at Brickin, this girl makes a lovely typy, compact outline. Lovely head & expression, deep well ribbed body, nice flow of neck into a good topline, pleasing angulation & neat hocks. Presented in a good jacket, she moved well & showed her socks off. RCC & BP; 2 Smith’s Javidel Viennesse Whirl, another I liked for type but not so confident today. Feminine head with a super expression, good for body & topline, pleasing angulation & moving well. Presented in a good jacket. JB (3,1) 1 Baldwin’s Ragus My Fair Lady, a quality bitch, good for size & excellent type. Lovely head with a super expression, good flow of neck, through well placed shoulders into a good topline. Deep, well ribbed body, pleasing angulation, well let down hocks & good tight feet. Presented in good coat, she moved soundly & never stopped showing. I was pleased to award her first CC; 2 Phillips & Tate’s Jaeva Shocking Pink, a larger bitch with a pretty head & excellent expression. Lovely neckline & topline, pleasing substance but I would have preferred her a little shorter coupled. Another sound mover, with good coat texture. PGB (2,1) 1 Kell’s Amicaro Jubilympia, a typy bitch with a pretty head & pleasing expression. She pleased in body, topline & angulation, with particularly well muscled quarters. In good coat she moved well behind but not quite so good in front. Looked her best on the move in profile. LB (4) 1 Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Primrose, a sound moving bitch with excellent quarters & a pretty head though perhaps a shade full in eye. She was lovely to go over but I would have ideally preferred a little less of her; 2 Roberts & Murray’s Mindlen Mischief, a pretty bitch with a lovely head & expression. Nicely balanced with a compact body, OK for angulation & coat, she looked her best on the move in profile; 3 Chambers’ Rouletta Luck Be A Lady. OB (4,1) 1 Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Gwynevere, typy bitch with a pleasing head & expression. Good for body & bone, pleasing topline & angulation. Presented in good coat, she moved OK; 2 Lazenby’s Ragus Diamonds Only, an older bitch of good type. I loved her head & expression, nice compact body but I would have preferred a firmer topline. In good coat, & with pleasing angulation & well let down hocks, she moved well; 3 Chambers’ Rouletta Bella Bewitched. BARRY DAY |
