NORWICH NATIONAL TERRIER 12 Judge(s) MRS L CRAWLEY DCC REDASH GOING FOR GOLD (MRS R E CORKHILL) NORWICH TERRIER MPD (2) 1 Phillips, Gullick & Tate's Jaeva Lucky'O The Devil, very typy 7 month red, lovely head with correctly shaped skull, good stop and strength of muzzle though this is a tad too short even if attractive, excellent eyes and expression. Short, cobby and low to ground typifying the standard, needs to grow on but excels in bone and substance for size, makes me smile just to watch him bustling around the ring. 2 Horsewood's Sativus Rochefort At Trutillian, attractive black and tan same age as winner and correct for size, excellent size and shape of eye but needs more strength to skull and muzzle although the proportions are correct, lovely short back and legs, level topline, correct for bone and substance. Difficult to assess movement on the day but I'm sure will settle with more experience. PD (1) 1 Barrell's Barwest Blaze of Glory, totally different type of puppy to those in previous class. 9 months old and has done all his growing in one go so now needs plenty of time and maturity to fill out his rangy frame and look less like a gangly teenager, correct for length of neck, topline, tail set and bone, moved well behind from well shaped quarters, has a masculine head that like the rest of him needs to fill out to look right, beautiful dark eye and correct mouth, would look better if he gained confidence and looked more proud of himself. JD (2) 1 Corkhill's Redash Going For Gold, this dog shouts Norwich type to me, beautiful attractive head with correct broad skull, deep stop and strong, wedge shaped muzzle not too short as with some but short enough to be correct, dark expressive eye, very good mouth, won CC on correct short back and legs combined with good bone, level topline and high set tail, nice length of neck contributes to excellent outline standing, moved well, such a shame he was out of coat but none of my adult male winners were in good coat, would like more weight, showed well, correct for size, CC. Won BOB on his confident performance. 2 Clark's Honismart Ginger Snaps, another not in the best of coats, lovely type with correct head shape, small dark eye, correct mouth, not the length of neck or bone of winner but overall an attractive balanced dog of quality, moved OK and showed well. PGD (1) 1 Clark's Honismart Ginger Snaps. LD (5) 1 Birch's Barwest Barnaby Bill At Kiblin, such a shame this boy had not grown enough coat through, it made him appear too leggy compared to his son who won the challenge, I have awarded him RCC before and still love his well proportioned head, beautiful dark eye though a tad full in shape, his short back, correct bone and substance, correct length of neck flowing into level topline, good enough quarters and excellent showmanship, RCC. 2 Lawson's Softpaws Red Robin At Irvelm, very attractive red dog with good bone and substance and a lovely size, has a good head with small dark eyes and a keen expression, correct for shortness of back and leg, moved well in front but lacks drive from the rear, in excellent coat and condition, always performs so well. OD (2,1) 1 Norrey's Fleurnor Red Hot Poker, this is a very nice dog but unfortunately the new coat was so short and there were no furnishings at all which left him looking nude with no glamour whatsoever, makes you realize how much coat enhances a Norwich, the coat is of good texture and a rich red but he looked so plain on the day, would prefer smaller ears but overall has a good head, correct dark eye, good mouth and is correct for outline, has a well constructed front and rear so moved well, could carry more weight to advantage, has great showmanship with an alert, keen expression. MPB (6) 1 Phillips, Gullick & Tate's Jaeva Riot TAF, very pretty, attractive little teddy bear who excels in type, feminine head with broad skull and deep stop but mustn't be any shorter in muzzle, lovely eye for shape, size and colour, a little short in neck but this may well improve with age and growth, lovely straight front, well boned legs and short back, correct topline, in good coat and had the style and temperament to win BP. I'm sure will do well with maturity. 2 Brown's Queslade Amber Angel, unlucky to meet winner who has grown more in one piece, this one has done a lot of growing for 7 months so is bigger although exactly the same age, full of quality with lovely head type, eye big enough but correct for colour and very expressively feminine, good bone and substance and length of neck, up at the back at present most likely caused by growth spurt, has good quarters which she used well, loved her overall type and temperament. PB (1) 1 Corkhill's Redash Tangerine Dream, 8 month old who has done a lot of growing for age, has a lovely head of correct proportions, excellent dark eyes, good mouth, correct for length of neck, level topline but would like a shorter back which would make her appear smaller, tail set high which sets off lovely make and shape of hindquarters, moved well but generally lacks smart deportment despite showing well enough, in good coat of correct texture. JB (4) 1 Brown's Lastarean Kyme For Home, lovely eye catching very black black and tan, such a pretty head of good shape, small dark expressive eyes, enough neck with level topline, high set tail of excellent carriage, straight front with enough bone for small size, just coming into maturity, excels in quarters and moved soundly, full of quality, in excellent shining coat and condition, really appealed for all the above, showed well in class and for bitch challenge by BOB challenge had had enough so lost to male, a classy youngster, BCC. 2 Hart's Honismart Ginger Syrup, attractive headed bitch, good mouth, correct for eye shape and colour, straight front, good length of neck flowing into level topline, would prefer a higher tail set and better hindquarters, shown in good coat and condition, just lacks the purpose and smartness of the winner. PGB (6,1) 1 Armstrong & Lawrence's Elantiz Rambling Rosie, this girl has excellent breed type, correct feminine head with dark, keen eye, lovely length of neck, nice for outline, short and compact and moving with a smart, purposeful action, enough bone for size, in very good coat and very showy and attentive to handler. 2 Brown's Lastarean Sign Of The Kymes, pretty bitch similar to her sister the winner of Junior, nice head but overall rather small for body proportions, short back, cobby body, enough bone but doesn't move or show like her sister, in lovely coat and condition. LB (5,3) 1 Martin's Kirmir Little Mischief, very animated and expressive bitch who excels in breed type, attractive head, very cobby with correct bone for her small compact size, balanced on the move but lacks drive and length of stride in profile due to short upper arm and straight stifles, coat just coming in and of good texture, pretty and eye catching with great showmanship. 2 Haynes' Baktwins Amber Diamond, very similar in most respects to winner but had no coat at all on the day, lovely type of head with sweet expression and very alert, excellent short back and legs, enough bone for size, better length of neck than winner and showed well, lovely breed type. OB (7,3) 1 Roberts & Murray's Mindlen Mischief, another similar to first two in limit class, smart, typy, cobby black and tan who appeals a lot and pleases for size, attractive head with dark, keen, vivacious expression, straight well boned front, excellent length of neck flowing into level topline, tail set high but rather an unfortunate carriage which falls on the judges side, for me this spoilt her appearance, moved a bit wide in front and close behind today, ran the CC winner close, loved her showmanship and stands four square, RCC. 2 Corkhill's Ch Redash Clementine, bigger and a rather different type to my overall winners but a quality bitch, lovely head, correct eye, good length of neck and straightest of fronts, perfect topline, well angulated quarters and yet moved a bit wide in front and close behind like the winner whose shorter back and legs I preferred, just enough bone and completely balanced all through, showed steadily making an attractive picture standing.
