It was a truly enjoyable experience to judge Norwich terriers at this show. We were first in the ring so the temperature was still good, the grass wasn’t too long and there was a real sense of good will among the exhibitors.
Norwich Terriers are such an attractive breed with good temperaments. Today I felt there was a big improvement in soundness since I last judged. This was particularly noticed in hind movement. Clearly there have been big moves to bring about these improvements and the breeders and exhibitors should be congratulated. Coats are variable but I know how hard it is to keep them rolling.
Thank you to all who entered and made my day such an interesting one.

SBD/B 2, abs 0

1. Perlich’s, Ragus That’s my Story. Very smart young man who came into the ring with confidence and moved soundly. Good broad skull and strong muzzle, Excellent shoulder placement and well made front. Excellent coat and trim.

2. Webster’s Brancova’s Mr McThistle. Good type and lovely personality. Short in back but not as good in front as 1 and therefore not the reach on the move.

PD 5 abs 1

1. Perlich’s Ragus That’s my Story

2. Crawley’s Willsfox Playful Whisper. Good head and expression, well off for bone and substance. Slightly longer cast. In good coat and moved well when settled

1. Russell’s Casahasabi Lick of Paint. Caught my eye with his fluid movement and soundness. Good type with very good shoulder placement and in excellent coat and trim. Still has maturing to do.

2. Crawley’s Ragus Putting on the Ritz. Strong male, good bone, well angulated and good outline with excellent head. Well up to size.

1. Thompson Morgan and Lazenby’s Ch Tinkave Vibe Setter at Belleville (taf). The sort of dog you hope will appear when you start your day’s judging. So well constructed, well angulated front and rear and deep rib. Good head and expression, well off for bone. He was such a good mover, excellent reach in front and good drive from behind and moved with enthusiasm DCC & BOB

What a lovely class with some promising youngsters, all fresh as daisies and making the future optimistic.

1. Crawley’s Ragus Smart in Silver. Such a charming girl, oozing what I was looking for in a Norwich bitch. Excellent head and keen expression, broad skull and strong muzzle, dark eye. Good in neck and shoulder and well muscled hindquarters and well boned. She has an excellent tail. Still a puppy. BCC and BPIB

PGB 3 abs 1

1. Tinsley’s Javidel Talk the Talk. Typical with pleasing head, good coat texture, short back. Moved well

2. Morris and Reid’s Alantro Botanical Jewel. Pleasing head and moved well when settled, although she was challenging for her handler by leaning.

LB 2 abs1

1. Armstrong and Egginton’s Elantiz the Seasons Diamond. Very attractive black and tan, with good head, well placed shoulder and short back, and good tail set. She moved very well.

OB 5 abs 2

1. Inett and Harrison’s Ragus a Fine Romance. Mature bitch in full coat. Good bone and substance. Very pleasing head, well constructed with well laid shoulder and short coupled and strong hindquarters. Well set tail and moved very well.

2. Lazenby’s Tinkave Summer Vibes. Very soundly made and eyecatching on the move. Good head and expression and very good tail. I feel this girl has the best to come as she still seems to need some maturity to finish off here picture.
