NORWICH JUDGE LKA 15

Norwich Terriers

Thank you to the LKA for the invitation to judge Norwich Terriers & thank you to the exhibitors for a decent entry at the end of a long year’s showing. There was a relaxed friendly attitude in the ring & this meant that the dogs gave of their best & made my task most enjoyable.

PD (1)

1 Thompson-Morgan’s Belleville Just For Effect, 10 month boy & what a lovely one to start with. Super outline & beautiful profile both standing & moving. Lovely proportions, good front, really good drive & extension in the rear & a spirit level topline. Decent head developing & a good coat which was well presented. Pressed hard for the RCC & should have a bright future. Great value as BP.

PGD (2,1a)

1 Hayes’ Ragus Fabulous Clown, just out of junior & a bit in between at the moment. Nice jacket with enough undercoat, needs a bit more leg hair & furnishings to balance him up a bit. An old fashioned head which appealed & a steady mover.

LD (2)

1 Stevenson’s Brickin Hot Of The Press, nice sort, good outline, happy temperament, good jacket & very typical. A slightly better head would complete the picture;

2 Graves’ Ragus Morning Herald, good temperament & outline, a little less coat & body would help his chances a lot, nicely headed dog. Moved a bit close behind. He settled as the class went on.

OD (3,1)

1 Crawley & Oddie’s Ch Ragus Hand In Glove, an extrovert showman with great ring presence & catches the eye as soon as he enters the ring. Excellent outline & really good movement in all directions, super temperament, typical head with a masculine expression. Well presented & his showmanship ensures that he is not overlooked. He is still young so there is more to come from this young man. I was pleased to hear that he made the cut in a strong group. CC & BOB;

2 Stevenson’s Brickin Early Morning, really typy, good size, nice outline, good head, good jacket, could not match the winner for movement but his breed type carried him through to RCC.

1 R Fabulous Clown.

MPB (2,1)

1 Weston & Pearson’s Kalligrabay Flora May Powdermill, just 6 months & delightful temperament, really happy showgirl, good dentition, good coat coming through, decent rear extension, a real baby, showing promise.

PB (3)

1 Brown’s Dancing Diva, won the class on outline as she looked lovely going round, great head for a youngster, good front, not so good behind & tail a bit tight;

2 Boer’s Redash Dolly Daydream at Billboer, good temperament, typical Norwich head, good proportions, decent jacket & nice tail, a bit bum high at the moment & hopefully that is just a growing phase;

3 Corkhill’s Redash Daydream Believer.

JB (2,1)

1 Graves’ Ragus Cinder Toffee at Nicnips, nice size, lovely jacket, OK in rear, a bit wide in front. With a bit more ring training could look better.

PGB (4,2)

1 Davies’ Brickin Choca Moca, good type, decent head, eye a touch round, lovely jacket, cobby, a bit wide in front. Nice temperament;

2 R Cinder Toffee at N.

LB (4,2)

1 Tate’s Jaeva Maid Of Honour, an eyecatcher, lovely proportions, great showgirl, correct size, excellent profile movement, good topline, I loved her head & expression, good coat & well presented, super front. She looked lovely in the challenge & saw off some strong competition. CC;

2 Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Gwynevere, a touch too much body & needed to settle a little but not a bad type, OK in outline & good tail, decent enough head.

OB (5,1)

1 Hitchen’s Ch Kreatin Hidden Extra, came in meaning business, beautifully presented, feminine, nice size, good tail, good outline, good front. A touch close behind. Deserves her title;

2 Crawley & Baldwin’s Ragus Now You’re Talking, the best mover in the class, a touch bigger than the competition, classic head, short body, good front & rearend. Still has a bit of finishing to do;

3 Armstrong & Lawrance’s Elantiz Primrose Petal.

VB (1)

1 Lazenby’s Ragus Diamonds Only, personality plus from this veteran. Really on her toes, super proportions & went round like a train & with real terrier assertiveness. Overall make & shape was super. A bit untidy in ear but that is being picky. Great for her age & her personality earned her the RCC against stiff competition from the open winner.
