NORWICH JUDGE EAST OF ENGLAND 19

NORWICH TERRIERS
Thank you to the East of England committee for inviting me to judge and making me so welcome, a massive thank you to my two Stewards keeping the ring running smoothly and thank you to the exhibitors who brought their dogs for me to go over, I was delighted with my entry and such a quality one at that, some decisions were very hard.

Puppy - Dog (3,0)

A Quality Class

1ST CRAWLEYS - RAGUS BEYOND QUESTION, 9 mth old red dog, extrovert dog full of his own importance in the ring and of lovely type with good eye and ears, his overall make and shape full of style, just needs time to thicken and gain more substance. Liked him very much. BP

2ND Graves's - PIPSACRE MORNING TIDE 11mth old red dog, Such a lovely head and expression, correct ear placement, good length of neck into well laid shoulders , well sprung ribs and short compact body, moving a touch close behind.

3RD Page's CONTILLY ASK NO QUESTIONS BETWEEN WINFLASH, wheaten dog litter brother to 1, a quality puppy, still very immature and needs time, sound on the move.

Junior - Dog (2,0)

1ST ARMSTRONG and LAWRANCE'S RAGUS SWEET BAY AT ELANTIZ 14 mth old red dog, put down without a hair out of place, dense harsh coat, good head, dark eye and earset, excellent mouth, strong neck, level topline. Showed well in the class but let himself down in the challenge sinking into his shoulders.

2ND CRAWLEY and BALDWIN'S RAGUS TIME OF MY LIFE 15mth old red wheaten dog, hard to split these two as both top draw dogs but today he was not in the best coat and felt quite lean.

Post Graduate - Dog (1,0)

1ST Crozier's MISMA OF BROOK HALL 4 year old red dog, another beautifully groomed, pleasing head, nice dome with well set ears, short backed with good body and quarters, moved wide in front.

Limit - Dog (3,2)

1ST Crozier's SEA SKY 4 year old Black and Tan dog, litter brother to PG Dog, quite a nice b/t of good type, strong muzzle, correct stop, well set ears, good bone and level topline, incorrect dentition.

Open Dog (2,0)

So delighted when I saw these two coming into the ring that I had a chance to get my hands and go over both of them. This was definitely the hardest decision of the day.

1ST CRAWLEY and ODDIE's RAGUS THE JUMPING JACK - WOW what a showman. 17 month red wheaten dog, , nice for size and quality all through, pleased in head, almond eye and expression, low to ground, short and compact, good rib and short firm loin, moved out so well with level topline and well set tail, covered the ground well showing pads. BD and BOB

2ND Tate's JAEVA PAY THE PIPER - 21 mth old black and tan dog, close up and plenty to like, keen and alert expression, good wedge, balanced all through, strong clean neck and plenty of substance and bone, in full coat today RBD.

Special Beginners - Dog (1,0)

1ST Hayes RAGUS FABULOUS CLOWN SHCM 5 year old red dog, beautiful harsh coat, needing more furnishings. Masculine head, strong muzzle, good wedge, held a level topline. He knew his job today and moved as one with his handler.

Puppy - Bitch (4,1)

1ST Watkins TRUTILLIAN PERFECT LIFE 8 mth old red bitch, put all in to take this class and had to, feminine, pleasing head, keen expression, nice lines in profile and on the move, excellent mouth, well set tail and strong hindquarters, moved out so well.

2nd Crawley's RAGUS TRUE LOVE WAYS 10 mth old red wheaten bitch, so gassy who went about her business with so much energy giving her handler a hard time, feminine quality head, excellent skull and muzzle, with good eye, and well placed ears of good shape , excellent mouth, well angulated rear, good coat and a really promising compact youngster with lots of type.

3RD Graves RAGUS LOVE LETTER TO PIPSACRE litter sister to 2, promising youngster, but in her under clothes today, another to watch out for.

Junior - Bitch (2,0)

1ST Hayes RAGUS SEVEN JUMPS 17 mth old red bitch, litter sister to Open Dog winner, nice type, excellent head, good front and shoulders, round feet, moved well, alert and showing all the time, super tail.

2ND Graves WASN'T ME AT PIPSACRE 9 mth old red wheaten bitch, in great coat, nice expression, neat well set ears, dark eye, good muzzle/skull ratio with correct bite. Moved well fore and aft, though a touch straight behind.

Post Graduate - Bitch (4,0)

1ST Kell and Crawleys AMICARO LIGHT UP THE SKY wheaten 2 year old bitch with nice head and expression, good stop, dark eye, alert with well set ears, correct bite, good front, short backed with good quarters, handled beautifully, showing her socks off, went so well. RBB

2ND Hayes RAGUS SEVEN JUMPS Repeat

3RD Watkins ALANTRO STEP TO IT

Open - Bitch (4,3)

1ST Stevensons's BRICKIN CHASE A RAINBOW Loved her! 2 year old red bitch, good head, dark eye and earset, excellent mouth, strong neck and level topline. Showed well with a beautiful outline when stood. In a heavy coat today but she still filled my eye. BB

Veteran - Bitch(1,0)

1ST Armstrong and Lawrance's ELANTIZ RAMBLING ROSIE SHCM VW a 8.5 year old red bitch, who belies her years as she powers around the ring, full of beans, she moved really well and presented a good profile, still in good coat and colour in excellent condition. Shame she doesn't keep her tail up and needs to be stacked.
