NORWICH JUDGE EAST OF ENGLAND 12

Norwich Terriers

Having last judged at National Terrier in 2010 & thought the breed was improving. I was pleased that this entry showed further improvement & quality was evident in both dog & bitch classes.

I certainly enjoyed the lovely puppy bitch class & trust that most of these will continue to be shown, most of them will surely be able to have some success in the future.

Small teeth & the odd wry mouth were found but all in all a most enjoyable entry to judge with quality winners for all to see.

PD (4)

1 Crawley's Ragus Edge Of Forever, hard to split the two litter brothers & both will progress. Once settled moved with plenty of drive, straight & true with pads showing, plenty of substance, strong neck, level topline, good set on, pleased in head, balanced all through, in good coat, great in profile;

2 Stevenson's Ragus Now And Forever, well presented, showy, short, full of quality, scored in head, eye & ears with neck, topline & rearend all plus points;

3 Nutkins' Tebrun Favour.

JD (2)

1 Crawley's Sheltrice All That Jazz, plenty to like here, pleasing head, strong muzzle, plenty of bone, level topline, well ribbed up, good jacket, balanced on the move;

2 Hitchens' Ragus Devil In the Detail for Kreatin, different type to 1, still maturing, pleasing to go over, dark expressive eyes, erect & well set ears, level topline. Would prefer a bit more neck which affected outline & balance somewhat.

PGD (0).

LD (4)

1 Brown's Ragus The Devil Can Wait for Lastarean, I love a good b/t & this is a cracker who gave the BOB a run for his money. Quality all through, best of heads & scored in eye, ears & neck, good bone, short strong loin, pleasing outline, in good coat & condition, moved out well both ways. RCC;

2 Corkhill's Redash Going For Gold, lovely head & expression, pleased in neck, body & overall construction. Topline compromised somewhat by lack of coat but has all the attributes & once settled moved with plenty of drive;

3 Norrey's Fleurnor Snap Dragon.

OD (3)

1 Crawley & Oddie's Ch Ragus Merry Gentleman, first time I have had the pleasure of going over this class act & was not disappointed. He is first rate on the table, has such ring presence & backs it all up on the move, best of heads & neck, the whole picture is complemented with a great profile giving balance all through, outmoved everything here. CC & BOB.

PB (11)

1 Brown's Queslade Amber Angel, well made & turned out in great coat & condition, scored in head, ears, neck & body, good bone, strong rearend. Just shaded 2 on movement & maturity. BPB;

2 Hitchen's Ragus Mayfair Morning, scored in head, dark expressive eye & plenty of substance all through. Not as forward yet as 1 but quality is there & when she puts it all together will go further;

3 Stevenson's Brickin Strike Me Pink, competed a quality trio, these were followed by several more promising young ladies.

JB (5)

1 Phillips' Ragus Madly In Love, nicely turned out & handled, lovely head, pleased in neck & body, level topline, good set on, lovely jacket, moved out quite well but lacks drive from the rear;

2 Armstrong & Lawrance's Elantiz Gwynevere, attractive & feminine baby, showed herself so well, head proportions OK, scored in eye & neck with strong hindquarters, when settled she moved out quite well, time is on her side;

3 Brown's Lastarean Kyme For Home.

PGB (3)

1 Armstrong & Lawrance's Elantiz Rambling Rosie, pleasing red with balanced head, erect well set ears, strong neck, short back, plenty of bone, good jacket, moved out quite well once settled;

2 Haynes' Baktwins Amber Diamond, much to like here & close up to 1, compact, well made with good head & body, full of animation. A bit skittish on the move but was sound & true both ways;

3 Brown's Lastarean Sign Of The Kymes.

LB (5)

1 Stevenson's Ragus Coming Up Next at Brickin, lovely b/t, nice for size & well made with strong muzzle, pleased in head, neck, bone & rib, nice lines & moved out well both ways with drive & reach. RCC;

2 Brown's Queslade All That Glitters, what a character, bigger sort than 1, pleased in head, neck & shoulder, level topline, strong muscular hindquarters. Coat just starting to go but although a bit of a handful, moved out with plenty of drive;

3 Watkins' Baktwins Dream Summer.

OB (4)

1 Smith & Hurrion's Ragus Takes The Biscuit, looked the part straight away, quality red of excellent type, first class head, erect & well carried ears, strong neck, well ribbed up, strong short loin, excellent tailset, balanced all through & on the move. CC;

2 Hitchen's Ragus Hidden Amber, another quality bitch, compact & with just the right bone & rib, good forehand, level topline, strong rearend, once settled moved out well both ways.
